Let's Pull Together, Folks.

September 11, 2020

Good morning.  Tis gray outside and we may get rain today.  We had a couple dozen drops of precipitation yesterday.  This I knew because they all fell onto my car's windshield.

Today is 9/11.  We remember that fatal day nineteen years ago.  It was a time when we all came together.  Folks, we need to do that now too.  We live in a great country that just needs a little help getting back on her feet.  We can do this.  Together.

I'm feeling tired today, but a nap will have to wait until later this afternoon.  Pogo has an appointment at 1:30 this afternoon with his doctor.  I think Pogo may be getting hard of hearing.  Sometimes when I call him he doesn't respond at first, then he'll walk around trying to find who is calling him.  At least that's what I think he's doing.

Although Pogo looks young, he's getting along in years just like me.  He's fourteen and a half now.  Of course, he still thinks he's a puppy.  We make quite a pair.  He can walk and get around pretty good, and I can see and hear really good.  We're perfect for each other.

This morning, I heated a cup of water in the microwave and it came out too hot to drink.  Even the cup was very hot.  This is not normal, so now I'm thinking that I may have to invest in a new microwave soon.  Every now and then it makes a crackle noise.  I use it a lot so I'm not surprised that it will need to be replaced.

Now that most of us are wearing a mask when we are around other folks, we need to be careful of how we dispose of the used masks.  Please remember, they DO NOT go on the ground or in the lake.  And PLEASE, PLEASE, cut the straps.  Birds and small animals are being injured and killed by being caught in the straps.  Be responsible, and put them in a trash receptacle.  I borrowed this image from the web.

How about learning a new word?  Here's one that is new to me.  It's "Grabble" pronounced GRA-bəl.

Part of speech: verb

Origin: Dutch, late 16th century

1 - Feel or search with the hands; grope about.

2 - Sprawl or tumble on all fours.

Examples of Grabble in a sentence

1 - "I had to grabble for the books hidden on the top shelf."

2 - "Move that broom before someone trips and grabbles."

Now I'm off to do some blog reading.  Before I go, let me share another image that I borrowed from the web.  It's message is - Please don't forget to feed and look after our homeless cats and dogs.  They rely on our care to get by.  Thank you.

So, till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

In this time of crisis it is necessary people hold on together, but it is sometimes difficult. nevertheless all over the world we could do with a little more compassion and caring for eachother.

I think you should look for another microwave if you use it a lot as you say. When it is going to make funny noises I wouldnt use it anymore with a lot of confidece.

Pogo and you fit well together ROFL, just the way you wrote it.
Pogo already has quite an age for such a small doggie.

I see around here too that somet poeple just throw a mask away on the ground or into the bushes, or something like that. Why is it so difficult to put it in your bag or pocket and get rid of it at home in the bin?

You have a great day and may be you can take a nap after you had the visit to Pogo's docor?

Big hug
Kyra

Your description of you and of Pogo is very cute, how your physical skills complement each other's.

I hope the doc says everything's okay with Pogo! When my canine half sister, Zara, started to lose her sight, my dad took it rough, but animals adjust better than we humans do! (I think that he was dealing with his human daughter's problems at the same time didn't help!)

The feral cats made think about him too. He and my aunt feed a feral and her kittens, who was a kitten of a feral they fed herself. He built a shelter from a large cooler with a blanket in it. It keeps them warm in the winter and shade on hot days in summer. They love their outdoor cats too. (Even though my aunt is allergic to them) Pop says they look forward to a Vienna sausage treat...every night just like he spoiled my feline sister years ago.

I'm going to make sure to mention clipping the straps on disposable masks to my aides. I'm talking about masks in the vlog I'm taping tomorrow and I'll mention it then too! Thank for that!

No speech to text while David is working at home, so back to just reading for a while.

Hugs, Nani

That is a good idea about cutting the strings on the masks. I just never thought about it but I will be doing that from now on.

I do feed the feral cats in my neighborhood. One of them actually comes up to the door, looks in and meows if the food isn't out. I really believe that God wants us to take care of our poor little friends.

SO true, 9/11 showed us that we all needed to be pulling in the same direction and what we could accomplish when we did. Our Country needs to do it again. Pogo sure has a good Mom to take extra good care of him! Enjoy your Saturday dear friend, we are supposed to get a few drops of rain... we'll see:) HUGS!

Yes, we should all remember and never forget 9/11/2001. This was a good post, Edna, in reminding people that they should come together and you have most likely seen all those signs that read "We're All in This Together" Sadly, some people think otherwise. I wish that all those careless people who have been tossing their masks (and gloves) everywhere would think of the dangers to wildlife but they are obviously not thoughtful enough to care about the environment. We only use cloths masks and have enough that we can collect them in a laundry bag for weekly washing. I see so many people hanging paper masks off their windshield mirrors and how safe can that be when they re-use them?

I love how you always look out for animals. I wish everyone was as conscientious as you in that respect!
