Sunday, Monday Post

February 27, 2022

Good morning.  Today is sunny and 39F degrees.  We got quite a bit of snow Friday.  Thank goodness for snow plows.  My plow guy came late Friday night, and plowed the whole yard.

Deanne and Alaysia had fun with their snow.  They made a huge snowman.

I finished the crib blanket, and now I'm working on the  afghan.

It doesn't seem right to only have one project to work on.  I'm so used to working back and forth between two or three projects.  I'll have to start another one.

Sorry, but I had to take a break.  Deanne came by for a visit, so I put my laptop away.  Afterwards, I just forgot to come back and finish my post.   Deanne brought me a bag of goodies, including some new type Peeps.  They're egg shaped marshmallow chickens with chocolate bottoms.  YUM!

Let me share a new cereal with you.  I can't believe that you can actually buy these online.  (on Amazon)  And it comes in several flavors.

It started to snow again last night, but thankfully it did not last very long.  It will be a while before all the snow we already have melts away.

Now I'm off to watch Perry Mason.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Tis Snowing Again

February 25, 2022

Good morning.  Tis snowing again.  It started around four a.m., and I guess it will keep snowing all day.  Dare I hope that this will be the last snow of the season?  I hope so.  I'm wanting an early Spring.  It won't happen, but I can dream, can't I?

There's not much happening here.  I have four more rows to finish the crib blanket, so I guess that's what I'll do today.  I was thinking that I might like to make a sweater, but I'd probably never wear it, so I guess I'll stick to the afghans.

One of these days I might even get to paint the rocks that I've had set aside all year.  Maybe when the temps get warmer and I can sit out on the porch and paint.  This is something to look forward to.

Have you ever seen a yellow cardinal?  I haven't, but I did find a photo of one.  It is absolutely gorgeous!  And very rare.

Today is Friday Under $10 on ShopLC.com.  I guess I'll be watching this for a while to see some of their bargains.  They have some watches coming up that are really beautiful.  And the under ten dollar price is great too.

I think I'll make me a fresh cup of coffee to enjoy while I'm watching these special buys.  Before I go, let me share this bit of wisdom with you.  If you have doggies, this will be a big help to you.

Now I'm off to the kitchen.  So, till Thursday, Y'all be safe and have a fantabulous day.

An Afternoon At The Park

February 24, 2022

Good morning.  Yesterday was such a beautiful day.  Warm and sunny.  Today temps are much cooler, 24F degrees, and gray.

Yesterday, Deanne and I took a ride to the park.  Oh my, it was lovely!  Here are just a few of the photos that we took.

It is so peaceful to just sit and watch the birds.  We are so lucky to have this beautiful park.

Last night, I did a bit of crocheting.  I think there are only ten more rows to go and the crib blanket will be finished.  I also went online and ordered the yarn for the next afghan.  These old fingers are going to be busy this year.

Tomorrow we are expecting 5 to 8 inches of snow, and temps in the thirties.  Mother Nature is letting us know that it is still Winter.  Let's hope this will be the last snow storm of the season.  I'm really hoping that Spring will come early.  (hahaha)

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Strange Cell Phone Messages

February 22, 2022

Good morning.  Today is 2 - 22 - 22.  Now that won't happen again for quite some time.   We've had a thick fog since before daybreak, and it is just now starting to lift.  Today's temps are supposed to hit 52F degrees, with possible rain in the afternoon.

Today I got two weird messages on my phone.  I have no clue what they are about.

What package?  How do I return what I don't have??????

I've never heard of this.  Have you?  I did not respond.

I guess the days of privacy on our cell phones are over.  Now we get lots of junk messages, etc. on our phones.

Today I have another photo of Ariyah Monet to share.  She's just so precious.

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that I'd have so many beautiful great grandchildren.  I'm blessed.  I wish the same for all of you.

Now I'm off to watch a Law & Order marathon on TV.   So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

February 20 Was A Very Good Day

February 21, 2022

Good morning.  Yup, yesterday was a super good day.   Ariyah Monet was born.  She is 7 pounds, 2.8 ounces, and 19.5 inches long.  And she's gorgeous!

This makes thirteen great grandchildren, and one more coming next month.  Awesome!

Today I have a grocery order being delivered.  Other than that, there's nothing much else happening.  I'll crochet a little and maybe read a bit.  I'll be glad when Spring gets here and I can sit out on the porch.  Then, at least, I can watch the birds and the squirrels.

I do have a couple books to read, so I guess I could also read a bit.  One new book is "The Mists Of Avalon" but I have to be in the right mood to read this one.   For now, I think perhaps I'll head to the kitchen and make some breakfast.   After that, I'm going to enjoy a bit of blog reading.  So till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Twenty Eight Days Till Spring

February 20, 2022

Good morning.  Tis sunny and 17F degrees.  However, the next three days are supposed to warm up nicely, then back to the cold stuff.  My calendar says it's only twenty eight more days till Spring.  Woo Hoo!

I saw my heart doctor Friday, and it was a good visit.  Because of my age, it will take a bit longer to get back on my feet, but I'm getting there.  I got lucky with this doctor.  I really like him.  He's young, and he's easy to talk to.

Each day, I try to add a row or two to the crib blanket.  I think there are only twenty two more rows to go till it is finished.  Then I'll have to work on the afghan.

We were expecting a new great granddaughter this past weekend, but the baby decided it wasn't ready to be born.  We're still waiting, but I'm sure it will be soon.

For those of you who are ready to start planting seeds for your garden, I found this interesting article.

Today, I have a bag of junk mail to go through and get rid of.  It's amazing, but we never run out of junk mail.

This week, on Thursday, Law & Order returns to TV.  I"m glad the producers are bringing it back.  They never should have taken it off the air.  This is a good series.

I have a lot of blog reading to catch up with, and I'm going to do a bit of that now.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

A New Washing Machine

February 17, 2022

Good morning.  Tis sunny, and temps are warming up today.  Today and tomorrow, temps will be in the mid fifties.  I like it!  After that, temps will drop back down into the thirties.  I have a doctor appointment tomorrow, so at least it will be nice when I go out.

Yesterday, my new washing machine was delivered.  I had paid a little extra to have the old machine taken away and the new machine set up.  And so it was.  It's going to be good to be able to do my laundry again.

Little by little, I'm trying to get back to my crocheting.  Each day I put a couple rows on the crib blanket.  Soon, I'll start working on the afghan again.  I need to finish at least two afghans this year.  They are both for next Christmas.

I want to try that new towel topper pattern that I found.  So, maybe I'll give that a try today.  Meanwhile, I'm looking over several sweater patterns because I'd like to try a sweater too.

I really don't have any news today, so I think I'll just share this interesting item with you before I leave to do some blog reading.

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hanging In There

February 15, 2022

Good morning.  This is just a short post to say I'm hanging in there.   One of my eyes has an infection now.  I guess this is all part of having a cold.

There's not much happening here.  Most of my day is spent resting and watching TV.  Little by little, I will catch up with all my morning blog reading.

Today I'm going to try crocheting for a while.  A friend is coming by, and I'm teaching her to crochet.  She's learning how to make a pocket wrap.

I have a new photo of Cerys to share.  Now that she's home, she's doing just fine.

Another great granddaughter was due this past weekend, but is waiting a bit longer to make an appearance.  As soon as I hear, I'll share the good news.

Now I'm off to watch a bit of Law & Order.  So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Happy Valentine's Day

February 14, 2022

Good morning.  I can't believe, it's been a whole week since I've been posting.  Well, I've been in the hospital.  I went in last Sunday afternoon, and came home Thursday afternoon.  It seems I had a mini heart attack.  Anyway, I'm home now and working on getting better.

I have to say though, this was a very restful hospital stay.  Everyone there was so nice that it was actually very pleasant.  For anyone who knows the hospitals in my area, I was in the Cardinal Cushing Hospital.

I took a crochet project with me, but I did not work on it while I was there.  I spent most of my time there just trying to get my breathing regulated.  Plus getting stuck with tons of needles, and having lots of tests.

Last night, I finally put a few rows on the crib blanket that I'm making.  I finally found the towel topper pattern that I've been looking for, and I downloaded it.  Of course, I need another project like I need a hole in my head!

Now I think I'll crawl back under my blanket and get some rest.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a fantabulous day.  Happy Valentines Day everybody.

Hugs, Edna B.

State Name Origins

February 6, 2022

Good morning.  This will be a really short post.  This cold that I have is making me feel lousy.  And it's making lots of breathing problems for me.  Therefore, I probably won't be posting here for the next few days, unless of course I feel lots better.

Let me share this interesting map of state name origins with you.   It's no big shock to see that the majority of the State's names are derived from Native words.  What is amazing to learn however, is that the number of states with names of English origin is less than a dozen.

Now I'm off to climb back under my toasty warm blanket.  Hopefully, the worst of this cold will be over soon.  Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous week.

Forty Four Days Till Spring

February 4, 2022

Good morning.  Tis another cold, wet day here in New England.  Ah, but Spring is coming.  Forty four more days.

This week went by quickly.  It's already Friday.  I hope when the warmer temps get here that the days slow down a bit so that we can enjoy the warm temps a bit longer.

I just went out to get the mail, and Egads!  (I'll bet you haven't heard that for a while!)   There is snow mixed in with the wet stuff coming down.  Enough to leave a layer of white on everything.

Remember to bring in your animals.  It's cold outside, and that means it's cold for them too!

Here's an interesting map that I found on the web.  (seems everything is on the web!)  It shows life expectancy by state.  I'm already older than the life expectancy of my state.  How about you?

Today will be another quiet day for me.  I think I'll put a couple rows on the crib blanket, then I'll read for a while.  Or maybe I'll attack a bag of junk mail.  Hmmm, that seems to be the better plan.  I can watch TV while I'm doing this.

First, though, I'm going to enjoy a bit of blog reading.  So, till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Warmer And Wet

February 3, 2022

Good morning.  Tis wet and gray today, and a bit warmer.  47F degrees.  This will be the warmest day for a while.  We should be having some rain on and off all day.

Well, I finished the blue crib blanket and started a new one.  The yarn for the new blanket is called "Tiara."  It's really quite pretty.

My cousin Anita has given away so many of her crochet and knitting projects that the local TV station asked if they could do a special on her.  She turned it down, but I'm quite proud of her.

Recently, I ordered a bag of taffy candy, and it just arrived.  Wow!  Such a big bag!  This taffy will last me quite a while.  Mmmm, mmmm.mmmm!

I found a fun word puzzle on the net and thought I'd share it with you.  So far I have thirty seven words.  Have a try and see how many words you come up with.  Have fun!

Now I'm going to make a hot cup of coffee and enjoy a bit of blog reading.   So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

A Brand New Month

February 1, 2022

Good morning.  Tis cold and gray outside.  It's only a few degrees warmer than yesterday.  (18F degrees)  Yesterday was our trash pickup day but we could only put out one barrel.  That's all the room there was on the sidewalk.

Today I have a couple photos that Deanne took at the park a few days ago.  Even in the winter, the park is lovely.

I hope all these birds are able to find food because there are not lots of people there bringing food to them.

There's not much going on here.  I did finish the blue crib blanket last night.  Now it's on to the green and blue afghan.  I've been looking over my yarn color chart, but so far I haven't made any final decisions about which colors to order.  It is fun though, so I'll keep it up a while longer.

Yesterday I received a partial order from a pattern catalogue.  Today I'm calling them to find out why only one of my items was delivered.  The item that did not come was the item I wanted the most.  Of  course!

Well, that's all my news for today.  Now I'm off to enjoy a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
