April's Done

Apr. 30, 2008

Can you believe it? Tomorrow is May Day already. I remember when I was a little girl, and May Day was a happy holiday with dancing and maypoles and may baskets. We would make may baskets filled with lots of goodies, and deliver them to elderly, sickly, or anyone else who needed a may basket to cheer them up. This was a happy day. So let's all enjoy it and be thankful for what we have.

Tonight, I'm watching one of favorite TV shows, Top Chef, and it's turning out to be fun. The competing chefs have to prepare a meal with the help of a child they never met before. This show will be very interesting.

Gotta go. First, let me share a really cute photo I took of a little bird enjoying himself in the birdbath. Enjoy,

Hugs, Edna B.

Last Part of Happy Mothers Day

Apr. 28, 2008

Tonight, I'll post the last part of Happy Mothers Day for you. I'm hoping you enjoy this kit. Also, I'll share another new layout.

It is now the last week of my Photoshop classes. Two more lessons and one make-up, and I will have finished the whole thing. The nice part is that I'm actually learning things that I need to know.

There was a nasty F3 tornado today in Suffolk, Virginia, where my daughter Audrey lives. When she was leaving work this afternoon, she and her husband saw it coming. They said it was very eerie and scary. It headed away from the direction of their home, but it did do extensive damage to homes, schools and the hospital, and has caused one death and many injuries so far. On the news, they are now saying that three tornadoes actually set down in that vicinity.

So, thank you God, for watching over my family and keeping them safe.

Hugs, Edna B.

Freebie - Part Six

Apr. 27, 2008

It's getting very close to the end of April and the Happy Mother's Day kit. Just two more installments. Tonight, I'll post Part Six for you.

I wonder how you all will celebrate Mothers Day with your moms, or that very special woman in your life. Don't forget, you don't always have to spend money to show you care. A phone call will mean just as much, maybe more. Hearing your voice is much better than flowers, and home made cards are always so special.

Today, I'll share a new layout made with Snow Raven's kit, "Spring Garden." The photo, a cardinal, is mine. You can buy the kit at KST and KNK.

Enjoy, Hugs, Edna B.

Part 5 and A Freebie QP

Apr. 26, 2008

We have been busy today. I had to have my PC fixed because Photoshop was giving me all sorts of problems. It had to be uninstalled and reinstalled. And guess what????? Of course, I lost all that hard work I did creating my glitter styles and brush. I guess I didn't save them properly. However, after I just re-made them, I saved them in three places. That should do it!

Tonight, I will post Part Five of my "Happy Mothers Day" kit. It is the papers - Pt. 4. After this, there will be two installments of elements to finish it up.

Also, I will post the QP to match the "Playful Spring Moods" layout. But first I want to share a new layout I made with "Watercolor" kit by Digital Anemona. You can get the kit at her blog:

Enjoy, Hugs, Edna B.

Part Four and A Story To Share

Apr. 24, 2008

This will be short today as I have a double shift coming up tonight and tomorrow. Today I will share another new layout done for a challenge at KST, and I'll give another link for "Happy Mothers Day."

Tootsie's feeling a bit neglected today. Between my computer "chores" and laundry, we haven't done much in the way of playing ball. I'll try to do better this afternoon.

One think I would like to mention is a beautiful story that Kyra is writing on her blog. Each day she writes a new installment of this fascinating piece of history about a trip she and her family made to Poland in 1981. Please do visit her blog and read her story. You'll be just as fascinated as I am. If you're reading this Rhoda, my friend, please do go read the story.
Kyra's blog:

The layout is made from photos of my Japanese Red Maple tree. The inset photo was taken from under the branches looking up through to the sun. Enjoy.

Is she cute, or what! Kit used is Snow Raven's "Playful Spring Moods."

Tonight, I'll share another layout I made. This one was for a challenge at KST, and the kit used is my own.

Now for your freebie, Part Three of "Happy Mothers Day." Enjoy.

Part Two of Happy Mothers Day

Apr. 21, 2008

For those of you wondering who the little girl on last night's layout was, she's my 2nd eldest child. She was a beautiful person, well loved by everybody.

This is chemo week and we're halfway through. Two more treatments tomorrow and Tootsie will be all set for another three weeks. God bless her little soul, she goes along with all of it. She's a happy little dog, and very playful.

Tonight I'll share another layout made with Snow Raven's kit "Elegant Emerald." Also, I'll give you Part Two of "Happy Mothers Day." Enjoy.

Hugs, Edna B.

Part One of Happy Mothers Day

Apr. 20, 2008

I have to tell you all that your wonderful comments really make my day. It keeps encouraging me to learn more and try to do better.

Yesterday and today, I've been trying to catch up on all the challenges that I am behind in. You would think that scrapping is a great diet. Once I get going, I don't even like to stop for food. And yet, not one tiny little pound has dropped off my little round body. It's beyond my realm of understanding. As a matter of fact, I think I may have gotten a wee bit rounder since I started scrapping. Now that's a depressing thought.

Tonight, I'll share one of my new layouts, and post your first freebie for "Happy Mothers Day." There are seven parts in all, so when I come in to chat, I'll post another part.

My layout is for the Scraplift challenge at KST. I was inspired by one of Scrap Girl's layouts. The edging around the background is from Snow Raven's kit "Let's Get Funky." Photo and kit is mine. This layout is for all God's precious children. Keep in mind that they are only on loan, and you should cherish them.

Two New Gem Stones

Apr. 17, 2008

I'm hoping everyone got out of doors today even for just a little while. It was an absolutely perfect day. Even Tootsie got a wee bit of fresh air today.

This will be short tonight. Need our beauty sleep. Tomorrow's a working day. But I just have to share my beautiful gem stones with you. After two weeks of moaning, groaning and whining, I finally managed to produce two rather nice stones.

So here they are, Enjoy.

Alert !! Tax Filing Deadline !!

Apr. 15, 2008
Tonight's the night folks. Midnight is the bewitching hour. All taxes must be filed, or at least requests for extensions. Hope your's is in.

Now it's my whining time. Anyone got cheese to go with my whine? My adorable little laptop isn't well. After spending some time with it, my repair man had to take her back to his shop for a more extensive look at her ailments. The culprit seems to Photoshop. How, I don't know, but I'm hoping she can be fixed back to new.

As far as my PC goes, well, we're trying something else for the backups. Meanwhile, I've already backed up all my important files onto a separate hard drive for just in case.

For tonight, I thought I would share with you another layout I made with Snow Raven's kit "Dazzling Diamonds." Her new birthstone kits are in both stores, so go have a look and buy one. While you're there, check out her sale items.

That's it for tonight, I still have quite a bit of homework to catch up with.

Hugs, Edna B.

Your Lucky Day

Apr. 13, 2008

Today is your lucky day. Sue at scrapstewsue has given me permission to post you a QP freebie. If you haven't already gone to her blog to download this beautiful kit, treat yourself and check it out today.

There's nothing quite like waking up to chirping birds. I miss that beautiful sound in the winter.

Here's a picture I took of birds in the bushes that I thought came out quite nice. As soon as I figure out how I want it, I'm going to scrap it. Meanwhile, I'll share it with you.

Tootsie and I are going to take a little walk outside in the sunshine before we take our nap.
Hugs, Edna B.

Spring Has Sprung

Apr. 12, 2008

What a glorious, fabulous day today. I hope everyone got to go outside and enjoy some of it. Don't know what happened to the rain and cold that was supposed to be here today, and I don't really care. I could dig this all year round.

I spent some time today making new quick pages, and I'll post one as a freebie for you. A lot of times I like to use photographs as scrap backgrounds. Today's freebie is made up from photos that I took last year at a local park. One of my favorite things to photograph is birds, especially in flight.

Hope you like it.

Hugs, Edna B.

Apr. 11, 2008

Not much new happening today. I'm having a problem trying to do backups on my PC, and I'm hoping to have it fixed really soon.

Today, I have a new layout to share, and a new link for you. I found this beautiful free kit "Stormy Spring," which you can download too, if you like from Scrapstewsue. You really must go see her blog. She also has lots of other nice freebies.

The layout is made with "Stormy Spring" by scrapstewsue. The photo, as you can see, is four of my little ones Forty One years ago. I am so blessed. Enjoy,

Problems With 4shared

April 9, 2008

It's been a busy week trying to straighten out a problem I've been having with 4shared. I apologize to anyone who had to put up with seeing nudity, porn, etc. in the "Related Files" section of my download page.

None of these are mine, and I had no control about them being posted there. I had quite a bit of correspondence with 4shared, and my teacher, Andrea, also wrote to them to complain about it. I'm glad to say, the offensive files have been removed.

On a brighter note, should I even tell you how I'm doing with my homework? Want a great laugh? Tonight, I started a brand new assignment. I struggled with page one, even though it was really pretty easy. On to page two. Well, this where I got stopped cold. After trying for an hour and getting the same sad result, I had to finally post a call for help.

Once I manage to work my way through page two, there's only ten more pages to get through. Looks like I'm going to be busy for a while.

Tootsie had a checkup today, and also got herself a new general ("family") doctor. I don't know she does it, but he is so-o-o-o-o handsome!!!!! And young, and gentle, and soft spoken ---- some days you just want to be a dog. Woof woof.

Have you ever heard of a little dog having this many doctors? Tootsie sees, when necessary, her dietician and her dermatologist. Regularly, she sees her neurologist and chemo technician. And now she has a new general doctor for everything else.

Enough of my babble. Tonight I'll share a new layout I made for a challenge at GDS. It was made with a GDS Bonus kit "Ready for Spring." See their link over on the right side of my blog.

Hugs, Edna B.

A Great Day For A New Layout

April 8, 2008

Another beautiful day to be outside, and another layout to share. Tonight will be short because this is "back up the PC" night, and that little project will take a few hours.

This is a fun layout that I just did for a challenge at KnK. I have since purchased very good, top of the line wiper blades. The kit is my own, special credits to Moo Two Designs for the little bow.

That's it for tonight. Enjoy,

Hugs, Edna B.

New Freebie For You

April 5, 2008

I don't know about other parts of the country, but the wind hasn't stopped for quite some time. Some days it blows softly, and other days it is really wicked, blowing my barrels all over the yard. April used to be such a gentle month.

This past week, I joined a couple of new forums so that I would have some more new challenges to try out. It's such a fun way to learn and to have fun with a lot of wonderful people.

This weekend, I have a new QP freebie for you, and my newest challenge layout for Kutnkudlys Kreations. See their link on the right side of my blog.

The QP freebie was made with Snow Raven's kit, "Wedding Elegance." Her link is also on the right side of my blog.

That's all for today, this is a working night. Enjoy.

Hugs, Edna B.

This one is for my family.

Another Gorgeous Day

April 3, 2008

It's been a very busy day, so this will be short. Today was another gorgeous day, so I went out to do some errands. Spent the rest of the day working on some new layouts.

New Layouts To Share

April 2, 2008

Did anyone get caught up by an "April Fool"? I must be slipping in my old age, because I didn't even try. Oh well, big deal. How about today, though! What a gorgeous day. Warm with a cool breeze blowing. Lordy me, I could take this most every day.

I guess I need to make a statement. I know that some folks may be offended by my choice of pictures and layouts that I share, but they need to be reminded that this is MY BLOG, and I can publish most anything I want on it. I do not ever purposely try to offend or hurt someone's feelings. 'Nuff said.

What's new? Classes and homework have resumed, and tonight I've ripped out quite a few of my gray hairs trying to make a string of beads. Obviously, I haven't actually achieved anything that remotely resembles beads yet. Maybe tomorrow will be a smarter day for me.

Tonight I'll share a layout for a new kit with you, and a layout I made for a challenge at KST.

This layout is called "Bob-o-link," and was made with a brand new kit by Snow Raven, "Precious Pearls." You can find the kit at KST and Kutnkudlykreations.

This layout was made for a challenge at KST, and is called "Dad" and Me.

Special credits: Background & emeralds, Snow Raven's Elegant Emerald, flowers by BAZ, the rest is mine.
