Laptop Woes

April 29, 2021

Good morning.  Well yesterday's heavy rain amounted to just enough raindrops to make a few small puddles.  After that, the whole day was just gorgeous.  So now let's see how today turns out.  I even checked with another weather reporting service.  There seems to be a lot of rain noted for New England over the next week or so.  How much of it we get remains to be seen.

This laptop is driving me crazy.  I'd like to see if Mr. Dave can check it out remotely tomorrow, but I have a doctor appointment tomorrow and won't be home part of the day.  So maybe he can look at it next week.  I'm seriously wondering if a new laptop will solve my problems with this thing.  I'll have to see what Mr. Dave has to say.

I went out into the main house today to water my plants.  While I was out there, I checked on my Blossoming Cherry tree (through the kitchen window).  It doesn't have many leaves open yet and already there are some patches of pink blossoms.  Crazy.

Here's a cute tee shirt that I found on the web.  I think this one was made for me.

It seems that more and more folks in our state are getting their vaccine shots now.  Here's a list showing part of our new re-opening schedule.  It's looking good.  I hope it stays this way.  Hopefully, this is the beginning of the light at the end of the tunnel.

Something tells me that we could see a huge rash of large weddings coming up soon and maybe a new generation of baby boomers next year.  It would not surprise me.  A lot of folks put their weddings on hold because of Covid 19.

All the dwarfs are getting their vaccine shots now.  Pretty soon everyone in the house will be fully vaccinated.  Woo Hoo!

Pretty soon I'll have to start working on covers for my next Blog Book.  I don't know yet if this will be a two volume or a three volume year.  I'll have to look into it.  It mostly depends on how much I chat and how many photos are posted.

Now I'm off to see what sort of mischief today holds for me.  I probably won't post here tomorrow.  I'll be needing most of the morning to get ready for my appointment.  I will be back here on Sunday.  So, till then, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

It's Back To The Sixties!

April 28, 2021

Good morning.  Tis wet and gray here.  According to my phone app, we have five days of the wet stuff coming our way.  Heavy intensity rain, moderate rain, moderate rain, light rain, light rain, and finally, overcast clouds for the sixth day.  I guess Mother Nature is trying to get all her April showers in before we run out of April.

Remember that tie dye party that Deanne had the other night?  Well, she made something for me that night and she gave it to me yesterday.  Woo Hoo!   It's a beautiful sweatshirt jacket.  She also brought all the fixings for us to have a "Sixties Moment."   Here's a couple photos from yesterday.  (The colors on my jacket are a lot brighter than they are showing here.)

Did we have fun?  You betcha!  And I love my new sweatshirt jacket.  Thank you Deanne.  Every time I look at my new jacket, I smile again.   (By the way, Deanne is my middle child.)

Yesterday I started on the a pocket wrap using the Luffa yarn.  Oh my, is it ever pretty!  I think I might make the pockets with a deeper olive green yarn, and this one will be for cousin Anita's hubby Ray.  I still haven't decided on a color for Anita's wrap.  I'm thinking maybe a light orchid?  Or a pretty pink?

I took a photo of the end of the skein of yarn to show you one reason why I really like Herrschner's yarn.  There's no problem finding the starting end of the yarn.  There is a tab on it to make it easy to find.

With all the rain coming in the next few days, I should be able to finish the yellow baby blanket.  Then I will see about deciding on a color for another pocket wrap and maybe work on two at the same time.

I got a text message a couple days ago from my great grandson Jack Jack.  He got a job and he sent me a photo of him standing outside his workplace.  (and next to his car that he got for his sixteenth birthday)  I'm so very proud of you Jack Jack, and I know you'll be great at your new job.

So, that's my news for today.  Now I'm off to make some breakfast and do a bit of blog reading.  Till the next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Sharing My Pattern

April 27, 2021

Good morning.  It's early, only 7:15 a.m.  The sun isn't shining here yet, maybe later.  Today will be cloudy with temps in the low sixties, according to my phone app.

I've had a request from Robyn for the pattern for my pocket wrap.  So here it is.  Robyn, if you have any questions, just ask.  If you do make one, please share a photo of your wrap.

I've changed the pocket size to 25 stitches.  It makes a nicer size pocket for the wrap.  For the really wide pocket, I made 35 stitches and sewed a button to the middle top of the pocket.  My new wraps will have the smaller pocket.  (it's still a pretty big pocket)

I think I've decided on a new project.  These pocket wraps would make a great Christmas gift for my cousin Anita and her hubby.  So now I just have to pick out colors for each of them.  Now this could take me a while.  How to pick colors for someone else is so challenging.  (and fun!)  Well, at least it keeps this brain busy for a while.

Here's a photo of another of the pretty daffodils popping up in my yard.  They come in so many different colors.

Yesterday I noticed that there were lots of purple buds on my Lilac bush.  I'll try to get a photo of it later today.  Mothers' Day is right around the corner, and Lilacs always blossom in time for Mothers' Day.

A couple days ago, Deanne took a couple photos of my Blossoming Cherry tree so that I could see how big it is getting.  It is just beginning to get new leaves, so we'll take another photo later to show how beautiful it is when it is blossoming.

Now I think I'll make a fresh cup of coffee and enjoy some blog reading.  So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Cuckoo For Cuckoo Yarn!

April 26, 2021

Good morning.  Have you noticed how early the sky lights up in the morning now and how late into the evening it gets before the sun goes down?  I love love it!

If the nights were warmer, I could set up a cot on the porch and sleep out there.  Then I could hear the birds' first chirps in the mornings as each new day awoke.  I know, I'm dreaming.  But it is a nice thought.

So far, I haven't decided on a new crochet project, so I may just make another pocket wrap.  This color really would make a nice wrap.  It's called Luffa.  What do you think?

This color would even make a nice afghan.  I'd maybe use some off-white and a deeper shade of the green to go with it.  Or maybe orange.  I think orange might go nice with this shade of green.  Ahh, such a problem!  (giggle, giggle)

You know, I could spend hours browsing the yarn in the Herrschner's catalogue.  It's like reading a good book.  You just can't put it down!  I've even dreamed of being let loose in one of their stock rooms.  Oooo weee!  Can you just picture it?  Running from one large skein of gorgeous yarn to another, snuggling in with a whole bucket of them?  Oooooooo!

It's okay.  You can laugh.  It's okay to be a little crazy.  And let's face it.  Having all that yarn to play with can do that to you.  And I'm so lucky to have all that yarn!  And cuckoo!

This reminds me of an old TV commercial about Cuckoo Puffs.  (I know, the word is cocoa but I like cuckoo better!)   There's an old gray haired lady holding a crocket hook and a hunk of yarn running around singing "Woo Hoo!  I'm cuckoo for Cuckoo Yarn!"

No, I haven't had anything other than a cup of coffee to drink.  These days, it doesn't take much.

On this happy note, I'm off to do some blog reading.  Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

April Showers

April 25, 2021

Good morning.  Today we have cooler temps and April showers.  There are new green leaves on trees and little flowers popping up everywhere.  It's looking very much like Spring.  It's time to think about planting tomatoes.  I can't tend to a garden so the only veggie (or fruit) that I'm going to plant is a tomato.

Deanne and I have decided that this year we'll start with good sized plants.  She will be planting hers upside down, and I'll be planting mine right side up.  I already know who will get all the tomatoes!  Meanwhile, here's a nice shot of my orange tulips.

This weekend I asked Deanne to model my pocket wrap so that I could share it here.  What do you think?  Isn't this pretty?  It's so comfy and the pockets are big enough for your phone, keys and tissues.

I have this yarn that I bought to make a pocket wrap, but I don't really need two of them.  The yarn is a weird green color called "Lufta."  Now I'm not sure what to make with it.  I do like the green color, but it doesn't go with everything.  Hmmm, I'll have to give this some thought.

Last evening, Deanne and some of the ladies that she works with got together for a tie dye party in Deanne's backyard.  Along with the tie dye, there was lots of beer and Jello shots.  Yup, a good time was had by all!

Today will be another lazy day for me.  I'll put a couple more rows on the yellow baby blanket and then after that, hmmm, I don't know.  I'll just have to see what comes up then.  I know what I'd really like to do.  I'd like to order a pizza.  Hmmm, maybe I will.

On that thought, I'll take my leave and do some blog reading.  So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

All Doo Dah

April 23, 2021

Good morning.  Today will be cloudy, some sun and some clouds.  Temps will be on the cool side.  BUT, after that, temps start going back up to normal warmer days.  At least that's how it looks on my phone app.

Today will be a busy day.  Deanne is coming by after work to help me put away my grocery order.  At the same time, we'll clean out my big freezer.  Yay, I've been wanting to make room for more popsicles.  These are great for when you just need a little something cold to munch on.

My laptop is not behaving very well.  I'm going to have to call Mr. Dave again to see if he can figure out what is going on with it.  It's really taking all the fun out of doing anything on it.  I did a puzzle yesterday and even that wasn't fun.

Folks, if I'm missing a day here and there, I'm probably trying to get this laptop straightened out.  I hope Windows is all done updating itself because I do believe that is the problem here.

Meanwhile, let me see if I can upload an image.  Remember, when you are planting your flowers to plant some trees too.

Here's another image that I thought I'd share.  This is me on a lot of days.  All doo dah, no zip!

I did put a few rows on the yellow baby blanket last night.  It's slow going because my concentration doesn't last very long.  Hopefully, this burst of warmer temps next week will bring me some energy.

This morning I've been watching "Best Baker In America" on TV.  The contestants are baking desserts that are covered with chocolate domes that need to be smashed in order to get to the tasty dessert within.  Awesome tasty!!

Now I'm off to watch Cold Case Files and enjoy a fresh cup of coffee.   So, till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

It's Time To Clean Out The Freezer

April 22, 2021

Good morning.  Yesterday I took the day off from my laptop to just snooze and rest.  I find that one day a week I'm needing a day like this.  If it helps, then so be it.  Yesterday I also started taking a new pill.  In applesauce, because I don't swallow pills very well.  Deanne got us each a bottle of "Potassium Magnesium" capsules, and some applesauce for me.  Yum, yum.

Today's temps won't get much above the low forties so it's not a porch day.  I think I'll go through a bag of junk mail and then crochet for a while.  I want to call my cousin today too.  I haven't spoken with her in a few days and I need to make sure that she and her hubby are okay.

I also want to place an order for frozen meals to be delivered maybe tomorrow.  I like to have these in my freezer for when I don't feel like cooking.  Actually, I just now took a break from typing and placed this frozen grocery order to be delivered tomorrow.

I'm thinking that  sometime soon I should go through my big freezer and take out anything that's old or outdated.  I think I should do the same thing with the freezer on my refrigerator too.  Somehow, there always seem to be a few things that just do not get used.  It shouldn't be that way but it is.

I  had an image to share with you but Blogger is not letting me upload anything today.  I'll try again tomorrow.  Maybe Blogger is working on some new changes.

The kitchen sink is calling to me.  It has dishes in it that want to be washed.  After they are washed, I'm going to do a bit of blog reading.  This afternoon, I want to finish sewing the pockets on the other pocket wrap.  Then my projects will be done.  Except for the baby blankets of course.  Hmmm, now I have to think up some new projects.  Oh my, such a chore!  hahaha.

Now I'm off to see about those dishes.  So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oooh, Skinny Me!

April 20, 2021

Good morning.  Don't let the title of this post fool you.  I'm no where near skinny!  But when my scale says that I've lost nine pounds since Friday, I feel skinny!  Now if only I could figure out how to get the scale to keep losing pounds for me that would be so nice. Actually, it's the medicine doing its job.  Getting rid of fluid and making it easier to breathe.

Yesterday I worked on my crochet projects for a while.  I got the pockets sewn on to one of the pocket wraps.  One more to go.  And I put a few rows on the yellow baby blanket.  Baby steps, but I'm slowly getting back into things.

While I was looking through an old photo folder, I found a photo that I had wanted to post for Easter.  The photo was taken in the early sixties on Easter Sunday.  This is Audrey and Kerri, (my two oldest)  and we were visiting with my in-laws.

Our trees are finally all turning green.  There are so many beautiful different shades of green.  The other day I took a couple photos while I was waiting in the parking lot (in my car) at WalMart while Deanne went inside to pick up some things.  This was the one tree that I thought was most interesting.

The wind was blowing, and the tree just seemed to move ever so gracefully.  Sort of like a green fan dance.  This tree definitely looks happy.

Temps are supposed to warm up nicely today so I may get to sit out on my porch for a while this afternoon.  That will be a really nice treat.  I may even enjoy my lunch out there.

That's about all the news I have for today.  Now I'm off to do some blog reading before getting started on this new day.  So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

More Changes On Blogger

April 19, 2021

Good morning.  First, there is a notice on my blog that says the feed that sends my blog via email to some readers will stop in July.  I'm not sure how that works.  I wasn't even aware of it until recently.  I'll see what I can do to remedy the situation.

Personally, I keep a folder on my desktop filled with shortcuts to all my favorite blogs.  Every morning, I go into the folder and read all the new posts.  It works for me.

This morning I called my insurance company to let them know that I have a new primary care doctor.  It only took a few minutes to set it up.  Then I called my heart doctor to let him know that I had to stop one of the new meds because of the body spasms it was causing.  However, the office is closed today.  I forgot that it's a holiday.  I'll call again tomorrow.

Today is Patriot's Day.  It commemorates the battles of Lexington and Concord, which were fought near Boston in 1775.  Patriot's Day is annually held on the third Monday of April.

Here is an interesting image that I found on the web.  Did you know this already?  I did not.

And here's another very interesting image that I borrowed from the web.  It's shameful the way folks just cut down trees to clear land and don't plant new ones.  We need our trees, all of us.

Our mailman never came by on Saturday, so I am keeping an eye to make sure he comes today.  I have put some bills out that need to be mailed.  After that, I have no special plans for the rest of the day.  We'll just see what comes along.

Now I'm going to do some blog reading, then I have some dishes in the sink waiting to be washed.  So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

I'm On The Mend

April 18, 2021

Good morning.  Sorry I did not post on Friday, but I spent the morning getting ready for my doctor appointment.  Not breathing well meant that everything I did took much longer to do.  But it got done and my daughter Deanne got me to my appointment with my heart doctor.  It was a long afternoon, but we got a lot accomplished.

My doctor got me started back on my meds and made me an appointment with my new primary care doctor.  I will meet her next month.  He did some tests and now I'm wearing a heart monitor for the next two weeks.  I filled out a form and will mail it tomorrow to have all my medical records sent on to my new doctor.

I'm breathing much better now since I've lost a lot of the built up fluids in my body.  My heart is probably working better too.  I can now walk to the kitchen or bathroom and back to the sofa and still be breathing okay.  Awesome sauce!

Today I thought I'd share the photos that my hubby took of Marilyn Monroe when he was in Korea.  When my late mother in law was moving into a new condo, she was getting rid of lots of things, including a large box of photos.  I rescued as many of them as I could.  These three photos were in that box.  Sorry they are so scratchy.  My MIL did not take very good care of them.

I also realized lately that I forgot to post the April page from my calendar.  So I'm posting it today.

I've been so neglectful of my crochet projects and other things these past few weeks, but now I'm hoping to catch up with all of them.   Not all at once, but I'll get there.  Now, though, I'm going to enjoy some blog reading.  So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

The Fabulous Marilyn Monroe

April 15, 2021

Good morning.  Today is gray and a great day for napping.   Sleep wasn't so good during the night, so maybe I can play catch up during the day.  For years, I worked the 7 p.m. to 7 a,m, shift, so maybe that's why I have so much trouble trying to sleep through the night.

I was browsing the web and I came across this photo of Marilyn Monroe entertaining the troops in Korea in 1954.  I borrowed it to share here because my hubby was somewhere in that group of soldiers.  He took photos of Marilyn with his camera and sent them home.

Lately my cell phone has been doing something new.  It tracks how much time I spend on my phone, and where I spend that time.  I don't really like this.  I find it intrusive on my personal being.  How about any of you?  Does your phone do this too?

Today, Deanne gets her second vaccine shot.  My cousin Anita and her hubby got their second shots yesterday.  We're all doing our part to help get America vaccinated against this wicked virus.

There's really not much news to share today so I think I'll just go on ahead and do some blog reading.  Till the next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs. Edna B.

Can A Cockroach Bring Happiness? Even For Just A Day?

April 14, 2021

Good morning.  This laptop is going to drive me crazy!  This morning it did not want to open properly.  After a while I decided to just shut if off and wait a while.  It would not shut off.  Actually, there was no place to click on to shut it off.  It surprises me some days that I still have more than two hairs left on my head.

Eventually I was able to shut the machine off.  After a while, I turned it back on and after Windows finished whatever it was doing, (it said it was busy and not to shut off my laptop) it finally came back on.  I'm wondering.  Is it just my laptop that is not playing nice with Windows?  Or are some of you having the same problems?  Should I just dump this laptop and get a new one?

Enough about the laptop!  Today should be in the low to mid fifties with sunshine.  After this, temps will be going down, down, down with lots of rain.  My phone app says we'll have rain Thursday and all the way through next Monday at least.  This could be good for us because we already got a warning from Town Hall about conserving water use because our water levels are way down.

How about some awesome super news?  My great grandson Jack is a sophomore at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School.  His love is working with wood.  Let me share a couple of his recent projects.  Jack, I am so very proud of you.

It makes me think of my Daddy.  If you gave him some wood, he would go into his workshop and build you something beautiful. His hands were magic.

Recently, I had ordered myself a new pillow.  It came yesterday, and I have to say I enjoyed sleeping on it last night.  I didn't think I would because it is not very plump, but it is very comfortable.

I don't have anything special planned for today.  (what else is new?)  Just some dishes to wash and then  figure out what to wear to the doctor's office on Friday.

I do have a fabulous giggle to share with you.  (borrowed from the web)  I just love this one!

Now I'm off to do some blog reading.  So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

EGADS!

Tuesday, April 13, 2021

Good morning.  (It's not really, but I'll explain.)  Late afternoon yesterday, (Monday)  I took a nap.  It must have been a good one because I woke up at six o'clock this morning.  I made my coffee and had my breakfast and was watching TV when I realized that for some strange reason, the sky outside was quite dark.  It was now 8 a.m.

Thinking that we might have a storm brewing, I went to look outside.  Yup, it was dark.  This is so strange.  Plus, Joe's truck was still in the driveway.  He usually leaves for work around six a.m.  The first thing I did was to call him on the phone to see if he was staying home because he was not feeling so good.  I also asked him if he knew of any storm headed this way that might explain why it was still so dark outside.

He wondered what was wrong with me.  He was watching a bit of TV before going to bed.  Of course it was dark outside.  It always is at night.  He explained that it was Monday night, not Tuesday morning.  Oh wow!  It was eight o'clock in the evening, not the morning.  Did I feel dumb?  You betcha!

Okay, so it's really good evening.  I will finish this post for tomorrow and then think of what I might have for breakfast in the morning.  I'm not sure what I was planning on having for my supper tonight, but I can probably have it for breakfast.  Hmmm, sounds like a plan.

My daughter Audrey just called me and gave me some great advice. (after laughing herself right off her chair!) If this happens again, don't call anyone.  Just look on the front of my cell phone.  It will give me the correct date and time.  Now why didn't I think of that?

I borrowed an image from the web to share here.  I think it's a fantastic idea for someone  who gets a lot of rain.  It carries the water away from your house and it looks great!  Like a little stream running through your yard.

I also borrowed this image from the web to share.  What an awesome experience this must have been!!

Now I'm going to watch some TV.  So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

What's Your Favorite Old Car?

April 12, 2021

Good morning.  The temp today is 46F degrees, the high for the day according to my phone app.  We'll have clouds and some sunshine.  Tomorrow's temps should be a few degrees warmer.  For some reason, I woke early this morning, and had my breakfast at 5 a.m.  Of course I was hungry again a little while ago.  But I keep popsicles in my freezer for just such times.  I just polished off a red one.  Yum!

My grocery order this week was rather large, so I split it in half.  Yesterday, the first half was delivered.  This morning, I placed the order for the other half of the grocery list.  It will be delivered tomorrow.  The only thing I couldn't put on the order was the Alka Seltzer.  That has to be picked up.  I'll see if Deanne can pick it up for me when she has time.

(I try not to order too many groceries at once because my breathing doesn't always allow me to put them all away.  The delivery is free.  It just costs an extra tip for the guy delivering.  Very reasonable.)

I do a lot of "Word Find" puzzles.  It keeps my brain functioning.  And it's fun.  One that I did this morning had a list of lots of cars that are not being manufactured anymore.  Most of these cars were very popular during my growing up (and living) years.  I wonder how many may have been some of your favorites.

AMC, DAEWOO, DESOTO, EDSEL, GEO, HUDSON, HUMMER (I thought this was still being manufactured), IMPERIAL, MERCURY, OLDSMOBILE, PACKARD, PLYMOUTH, PONTIAC, REO, SAAB, SATURN, SCION, STUDEBAKER and TUCKER.

You know what is not on this list?  The NASH.  We had a Nash when I was just into my teens.  After the Nash, my Daddy bought a brand new Chevy.  It was tan and white.  Memories!

Here's an image that I borrowed from the web.  It's just a reminder not to mow down all the dandelions.  The bees need food and there might be bunny dens hidden beneath some of them.

That's all my news for today.  Before I go, let me leave you with another image that I borrowed from the web.  Here's hoping it gives you a nice warm giggle.

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading and whatever fun mischief I can dig up.  Till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I'm Back!

April 11, 2021

Good morning.  Gosh, it's good to have my laptop back.  All the problems were from the new version of Windows that installed itself.  According to the guys at the shop, lots of folks have been having the same problems with their laptops/desktops.  It's good to know it's not just me.  (not that I wish it on anyone else)

One of the problems of having your laptop out for so long is the backlog of emails that you'll have to go through.  It took me a while, but I finally got them cleaned up.  I even got to do a bit of blog reading, although I still have some catching up to do.

The week has been fairly quiet for me.  I did get to sit out on the porch for a bit, and I finished crocheting a baby blanket and started another one.  The first one is Minty green, and the new one is Daffodil yellow.

Deanne stops by every day and helps me with things.  This week (Friday) I have an appointment with my heart doctor.   Oh joy, oh joy.  I don't like doctor appointments but this one is necessary.  Next I'll be looking for a new primary care doctor, one that I can be comfortable with.

One of the things I really missed all week while my laptop was at the shop was doing my jigsaw puzzles.  I have tons of them on my laptop, and I usually do one or two of them every day.  It's very relaxing.  So, once I got all the emails cleaned up, I did a puzzle.  I must say, it felt good.

I have an image that I borrowed from the web to share with you.  It's not exactly nice, but it did give me a great giggle.  I can't wait to see what this lady's next gardening tips will be.

I also borrowed this image to share.  I did not know this about the crayons.  It's good to know.

Now I'm going to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Sick Laptop

 April 5, 2021

Good morning.  This is a very short post.  I'm having problems with my laptop and it has to be dropped off at the computer store.  There are problems with the recent Windows version update.  I'm sure it won't take long to fix it, and I'll be back posting soon.  Thanks for understanding.

You have a fantabulous day.

HAPPY EASTER

April 4, 2021

Good morning.  Everyone is busy today with family and friends.  And rightly so.  Tis Easter Sunday.  I'm not going to type a post today, just leave you with a smile.

I think it was awesome for someone to help this tiny little bird with his crooked little feet.

Enjoy your day dear friends.  I'm wishing you a Happy and Blessed Easter.

Free Breakfast?

April 2, 2021

Good morning.  I just went out to get my mail and found a breakfast delivery from  McDonalds (delivered by Uber) on my door step.  I called McDonalds but they said I would have to call Uber.  They only send the food out.  They don't have control over what happens to it.  Unfortunately, I looked up the Uber Eats number and have to download an app to get a number to call.  I'm not putting anymore apps on my phone.  So I guess whoever ordered the food will have to call and re-order.

Today is nice, but cool.  Too cool to sit out on the porch.  Sunny and thirty three degrees.  Hopefully though, temps will be getting warmer after today.  Gosh, I hope Sunday is warm enough for all the little kids to go egg hunting.

I remember Easter Sunday from when I was very young.  Everyone would be dressed in their finest clothes and after church would go to downtown Quincy Square.  We would walk from one end of the square to the other and back, meeting up with folks and visiting with friends that we hadn't seen in a while.  Life was so much simpler then.

Today I have another photo of the Muscovy ducks at our park.  Deanne found a pair of them grooming and stopped to take a photo.  They are very unusual looking ducks, and I find them quite beautiful.

There's not much news today so I'm off now to read some blogs.  Till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a Blessed Easter.

Hugs, Edna B.

Welcome April

April 1, 2021

Good morning.  It's been raining all through the night and all day so far.  But the rain seems to be good for the trees and plants.  I finally have a beautiful yellow blossom.  One of the daffodils bloomed yesterday.  Yeaaaaah!

And today is the beginning of April, so the showers are quite appropriate.  We have quite a few showers due this week so I'm expecting all my leafy trees to start showing tiny green leaves soon.  I don't have any April Fool's tricks today.  I'm just so happy to see this little burst of yellow color in my yard.  The temps might be going up and down for a while, but Spring is definitely here!

Deanne came by yesterday and we sat out on the porch for a while.  My new plant holders came in the mail and we figured out where to put them.  I'll be able to bring out a few of my house plants and let them enjoy the fresh air until Fall.

Today I think I'll cook up a pot of pasta.  I've already taken the sauce out of the freezer to thaw.  When I make the sauce I always make a double batch and freeze half of it.  I would also freeze a batch of cooked pasta but it doesn't taste very good when it thaws.  It becomes mushy.

For those of you who enjoy crocheting and knitting, you can get lots of really nice free patterns at Yarnspirations.com.  Have a look, and I hope you find some that you like.

Before I leave to read some blogs, let me leave you with this BIG hug.  (image borrowed from the web)

So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
