Out Like A Wet Lamb

Well, this is it. March is going out like a wet lamb, and tomorrow we'll have April showers. And some more homework. Oh boy!

Snow Raven has some beautiful new kits coming out mid-April. Don't forget to be checking the KST and Kutnkudly stores for her kits. Both links are here on the right.

Tootsie and I are retiring early tonight. It's been a long day, Chemo twice for her. I do have a new layout to share with you. It was made with a Welcome Kit from Moo Two's forum. They have a lovely store also that you might want to check out.

Happy Birthday Janet

Mar. 29, 2008

So, is March going to go out like a lamb? Today is nice and sunny, but rather cool. Down South, it already snuck out with it's tail between it's legs. My kids phone me to brag about their 80 degree days. Up North here, though, March still has a grip on the weather. We have 40+ degrees.

Today is Janet's birthday, so HAPPY BIRTHDAY JANET. She's a lovely person, and still quietly recouperating from her accident.
Dozer was thrilled to see his beautiful face on the worldwide net. He's on new meds, and hopefully will be back to normal soon.

Today, I will share my new layout, and post a freebie for you. Enjoy,

Hugs, Edna B.

Giddy With Glitter

Mar. 28, 2008
Well, today is much better news. Janet, my daughter-in-law, is feeling a bit better, and Dozer was feeling pretty chipper this afternoon. AND, I just might have licked my homework woes.

Today, I made glitter. Yup, you heard me - Glitter!!! Isn't it sad when an old koot like me gets all excited about making glitter? Well, that's okay, because I had fun doing it.

See? Here's my glitter that I am so proud of.

Isn't it nifty? Okay, I'm all done patting my back. I just finished up the Intermediate Classes for Photoshop, and am looking forward to the Advanced Classes next week. If you're interrested in these classes, visit: http://www.godigitalscrapbooking.com
You'll find them in the store under Andrea Gold.

Also, if you love golf or are a tea drinker, check out Kyra's blog for some beautiful freebies. Her address is: http://smiekeltjewordpress.com

That's all for today. Tootsie and I are turning in for some beauty sleep. Tomorrow I'll have a freebie for you.

A Day For Woes

Mar. 27, 2008 We had a nasty train crash in a nearby town two nights ago. I had a bad feeling in my gut because my daughter-in-law takes the train to and from work. I could not get in touch with her at all, then last night she called to say she was being released from the hospital. Unfortunately, she was on that particular train. Thanks to God, she will be okay.
.
Next, my daughter, Audrey, called me to say that they had been back at the hospital with their furry boy, Dozer. He's not been feeling well, and is all bloated. Tonight, though, she called to say he might be feeling just a tad bit better. I certainly hope so. It's tough to watch your pets suffer.

Amongst all that news, my PC is acting weird, and today Photoshop has decided to give me headaches. I really don't know how to fix all this, so first I did a defrag, and over the weekend, I will try to empty a lot of stuff out of the PC.

If this wasn't bad enough, I struggled with my homework trying to make a little piece of twill tape. It took two days, and lots of moaning and groaning on my part, but I finally ended up with a little piece of twill tape that is recognizable. If I never see twill tape again, I won't shed any tears.

This is my twill tape!!!!!

I will leave you with a couple of pictures. One of Dozer, and one I took last September at a local bay, Wessagusset.

Enjoy, Hugs, Edna B.

This is Dozer.

And this is Wessagusset Bay at night.

Changing Seasons

Mar. 25, 2008

The seasons must be getting ready to change. All of a sudden I'm very tired all day long. I just need a shot of nice warm sun I think. All day long.

Needless to say, not much was accomplished today. I did, however, work up a couple of new layouts. Snow Raven has some new kits coming out around April 15th, and they're very nice. Go check out her blog to see what they look like. Also, while you're there, check out the nice freebies.

Tonight I have a picture to share with you. It's Mac and Audrey with taxidermy entries and ribbons. Again, I have to say Congratulations to both of you for a job well done.

Also, I have a new layout made with Snow Raven's kit "Easter With Peeps." The kit was a posting bonus for a KST challenge.

Congratulations to Mac & Audrey

Mar. 24, 2008

Hope you all had a beautiful and happy Easter. Tootsie and I certainly did. With all that great sunshine, though, it was still a bit cool.

I told you that my daughter, Audrey, has taken up taxidermy with her husband. This weekend they were showing some of their work in a competition. This was Audrey's first time entering a finished project, and she took a ribbon. Actually, everything they entered got a ribbon. So even thought I'm not real crazy for taxidermy myself, I want to congratulate both Mac and Audrey for their great work. Hopefully, I'll have pictures to share soon.

Tonight I'm going to share a fovorite photo of mine. Two blue jays dining in the snow. Enjoy,

Hugs, Edna B.

Spring Is Here!!!

Mar. 22, 2008

Spring is here, YEAH-H-H, and Happy Easter to all of you. I think Spring and Fall are the prettiest seasons, with the best weather. Of course, I remember when I was young, and I thought summer and winter were just the greatest seasons.

Well, now I'm a little older and just a tad slower. No more popping tar bubbles in the street with my bare toes, and no more sledding and snowball fights for this gal. I'd rather plant my spring flowers and cherry tomatoes, and photograph autumn colors.

This weekend I am going to share a couple of layouts, and post a freebie for you.

Hugs, Edna B.

The first layout is my youngest and most special child. Happy Easter Laura Jean.

This layout was created with Snow Raven's "St. Patricks" kit.

And this is your Freebie QP. It was made with Snow Raven's kit, "Spring Celebration."

The End of Winter

Mar. 20, 2008

This is it, the end of winter. Sort of. Most of the cold weather has gone, and all the flowers are coming up. Today was a very tiring sort of day for no reason at all. I think it's because of the changeover of the seasons.

Tomorrow is Good Friday, and Sunday is Easter. Are you all ready for Mr Bunny? Tootsie is. She wants to leave out all of her dog food for the Easter Bunny. She's not fooling anyone, she's just trying to get rid of the dog food. I told her we'll put out carrots and a cup of cocoa.

This week, I've been busy making new background papers, and learning new techniques. There's also some new layouts to share with you. One is for a challenge, and one is showing the steps to making background papers.

Enjoy, Hugs, Edna B.

This one is about the animals in Belize.

And this one shows about making background papers.

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Mar. 17, 2008

I hope everyone is enjoying their St Patricks Day. Lot's of festivities, parades (probably yesterday), and definitely lots of good food.

To all of you who tried to download the "Let's Go Oriental" QP, I am so sorry about the mess with the password. I thought I had removed all passwords, as they only confuse me. However, it's not as easy as one would think to remove passwords. I did eventually manage this, and re-loaded the QP file. If you scroll down to the new link, it should work just fine.

Please be patient with me, as I am still quite new at all of this.

Tootsie is having "Birthday" withdrawals. She thinks that everyday is roast beef and chicken day. Not so, my little girl. It's back to the dog food till next year.

Today, I finished up my homework, and made some new layouts for Snow Raven. The first layout is made with her kit "Flowers For Mum Add-on".
Enjoy, Hugs, Edna B.

The second is made from her kit "Easter Fun."

Happy Birthday Tootsie!

Mar. 15, 2008

Well, the big day finally came. And yes, Tootsie had a nice day. Both Uncle Moo and I played ball with her (this is her favorite game), and then she had a dish of Roast Beef for lunch. I gave her some new outfits, and Uncle Moo brought in her big gift. Yup - you guessed it -- a whole Roast Chicken! She'll have that for supper.

Folks, you only go this way once, so love your animal friends and enjoy them. You can even spoil them a little every now and then. Their love is unconditional.

Tonight I have a new layout to share with you, and a freebie.

Hugs, Edna B.

Your freebie: This was made with Snow Raven's kit "Let's Go Oriental." Go check out her blog for this kit and more. She has lots of beautiful freebies.

New Layouts

Mar. 13, 2008

Today was definitely a winner. It was so nice that I actually went out and did some errands. Wow, will wonders never cease! Some days I get so wrapped up with my computer that I forget there's a whole world outside this room.

Tootsie went to the beauty parlor today. Got to get all spiffed up for the big day on Saturday. I bought her some new outfits. Hopefully, they'll fit her. Personally, I think she'd rather get a whole roasted chicken for her birthday.

Well, I finally learned how to make some alphabets for my scrapping. And I made a couple of layouts for my alphabets. These were all for a challenge at GDS, and tonight I'll share the layouts with you. The first one is for the letter "J" and the second is for "T."

Hugs, Edna B.

Somebody Up There Likes Me

Mar. 12, 2008

I think someone up there likes me. Even thought today started out with rain, a little slush mixed in from time to time, and by afternoon the sun had come out and a lovely day was had by all. To top it all off, the mailman brought me goodies from my son and a friend. I got the neatest calendar with some wonderful sayings on it, and a photo CD with music too.

Here is one of my new wonderful sayings: "Paradise is exactly like where you are right now.....only much, much better."

Be honest! Now, ain't that the truth...or ain't that the truth! I can see that I'm going to have to read this whole calendar.

I'll leave you now and share a layout made with Snow Raven's kit "Snow Drops."

Lot's To Be Thankful For

Mar. 11, 2008

Hooray! Tootsie's Chemo is done for three more weeks, and we got us a brand new roof today. And to make things even nicer, Tootsie has a birthday this coming Saturday.

It's been a long day, but a nice one. I was able to get all my homework caught up, and a little bit more. Even got to spend some time on some of the challenges I like to enter. Believe it or not, I learn an awful lot by participating in these challenges. Plus I get to meet some new and very nice folks.

There's a young person out there who could use some help from as many of us as can. She is a very special friend of my grandson, Jeremy. Please take a few moments to go look at her website, and read her diary and look at her pictures. If you can help, please do, and God Bless.

Tonight, I'll share with a layout I made with Snow Raven's kit, "Lord of The Rings."

Daylight Savings

Mar. 9, 2008

Today is the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. We lose an hour of sleep, and gain a lot more sunshine. I can dig it!

Well, the rains they came, and the March Winds huffed and puffed, but they could not blow my house down. Thank goodness for that. Last night, those winds did howl, and we got about three inches of rain along with it.

Today the sun is shining bright even though the wind hasn't stopped it's howling. This past couple of weeks, the little snowdrops have been popping up in gardens. That's always a nice sign that Spring won't be long now. Actually, less than two weeks. Yeah-h-h!!

This is a work night, so I'll leave you with a layout that I made for a challenge. It's called "Lilah."
Thanks to Paula Yagasawa for the charm bracelet resources.

Two Freebies Today

Mar. 8, 2008

Boy, It's taken me two hours to get in here today just to post. Problems at Google, I guess. Well, anyway, today is very wet. The heavy stuff hasn't got here yet, but it's early.

Today, I'm giving you a nice gift. Another QP that I made from Snow Raven's "Dreaming of Spring" kit. If you would like to see her kits, please visit her blog and both of her stores.

Also, I'm going to show you the preview for the second half of "Easter Time" and I'll give you the link to download if you would like to have it.

That's all for today. Enjoy the rain, tomorrow we may be longing for it.

Lot's of Rain Coming

Mar. 7, 2008

Can't stay too long. It's been a long day, and Tootsie and I are turning in early tonight. We have a lot of rain and more wind coming. Actually the rain has already started, and they say we could get anywhere from 3 to 5 inches. If only it would go directly to the ponds and lakes, and leave us with just the drizzle part.

I thought I would share a layout that I made for a Scraplift Challenge at KST. It's called "Making Memories." It's very similar to one of my first scraps - some of the same pictures, different background and arrangements.

Hugs, Edna B.

New Layouts

Mar. 6, 2008

Another nice day today, and all my work is caught up. Not for long, but it's a nice feeling. My laptop is getting some more memory tonight. Can't wait for that, the poor thing runs so slow, and Photoshop doesn't hardly run at all. I just have too much stuff in it. Oh well!

My new roof is going on soon. The dumpster and the shingles arrived today. It'll be nice when that is finished.

Tonight, I'm going to share a couple of layouts that I made for challenges at KST. The first one is for the Quote Challenge. I used Snow Raven's kit "Spring Celebration", and a photo taken by Miss Audrey.

The second layout is for the ABC Challenge at KST, and was a lot of fun to do. For the background and bows, I again used "Spring Celebration."

That's all for today,

Hugs, Edna B.

p.s. There will be another freebie for you either tomorrow or Saturday.

The March Winds Are Howling

Wed. Mar. 5, 2008

Today, the March winds howled, and DID THEY EVER. Makes you think of the big bad wolf out there huffing and puffing, and blowing my trash barrels and everything else all around the yard.

But we were inside and warm, and trying our darndest to figure out homework. Of course, Andrea helped us out and all is well, and uploaded even. If you want to learn about Photoshop, you really should look into Andrea's classes over at GDS.

Tonight, I'll share a layout I made with one of Snow Raven's kits "Winter Blooms."

I love photographing birds, and this little fellow is tucked inside a hedge, snug as a bug in a rug.

A Gift For Miss Bea

Mon. Mar. 3, 2008

This will be short tonight. It's been a long day and night, and I'm petering out. I wanted to share another new layout. This one is for my friend, Miss Bea. It was made with Snow Raven's new kit "Flowers For Mum." She also has another new kit, "Spring Celebration." Both are available at KST.

I also want to share a picture I took of a beautiful Red Bud tree. It will be bursting forth with blooms in just a few more weeks.

March Has Cometh

Mar. 1, 2008

March is here, and pretty soon Spring will begin. I am thankful for the winter that is passing, but I am looking forward to the warmer weather.

I got the cutest e-cards today from my two youngest grandchildren. Would you believe it? They sent me Talking Monkeys!! Telling me they love me, no less!! Yes sir-ee, I am blessed! Actually, I really am blessed. I have 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren with a 4th on the way. There's nothing makes you feel older than to know that your children are grandparents.

On that note, I am going to get ready for work. I will leave you with a preview of the papers to my "Easter Time" kit and the link to download.

Hugs, Edna B.
