New Products

September 2, 2022

Good afternoon.  I'm blogging a wee bit late today.  I've been watching TV and it's been fun.  They're showing a lot of old "Golden Girls" programs, and I'm enjoying them.

I've been enjoying a few of the newer TV commercials.  Especially the one for LUME.  I'm wondering who did the crotch sniffing, and how did they advertise for the job?  Wanted:  crotch sniffer.  Just who do you suppose would answer this ad?

Then there's the product that helps women poop.  The woman in the ad is sitting on a toilet and says "I'm a woman pooping."  Well, dang it all!  Now I know why she was sitting there.  I can't wait to see the ad that will help men.

I've decided to do a bit of crocheting this afternoon.  If I don't get started with it, I won't have the afghans for Christmas.  Actually, I haven't done much at all for Christmas so far.  I need to think about it and get to it.  I don't like to wait till the last minute.

I also need to start thinking about my Christmas cards.  Am I going to send them this year?  I don't know but if I do, I need to get busy with them now.

There's a new pillow on TV that looks super comfortable.  Have a look.  I think we should all have this pillow.  Then we'd all get a super night's sleep.

Now I'm going to head for the kitchen to see what's for lunch.  Y'all stay safe now.

I'm Back!

September 16, 2022

Good morning.  I do believe that I missed posting last week.  I didn't realize it, but a few of you let me know about it.  Time seems to slip right by me lately.

I haven't done much crocheting lately, but now I really must get back to it.  I only have two months left to finish the afghans..  Guess what?  My laptop is acting up.  It won't let me space the lines.  It won't let me type just one line apart.  I'll have to spend some time with it and try to figure out what is happening with it.

Now it just put all the lines where they belong.  Yeesh!!!!!

I had a lot of notes about things to chat about here, but I've lost my notes.  How does this happen?  I really don't know.  I seem to be very good at losing things.

Deanne will be coming by after work.  We'll sit out on the porch and watch television.  Maybe.  I'm just now checking what the temperature will be and it might be too cool to sit outside and watch TV.  Cloudy with temps in the sixties.  Temps for the next two weeks will be in the sixties and seventies.  Autumn is coming early.

One of these days I'll have to cook up a pot of spaghetti.  I haven't done it in a while, and I miss my spaghetti.  These meals that get delivered never have spaghetti and meatballs in them.  Sad!  I love pasta!

I have a new map for you.  This one shows the richest billionaire in every state.  Interesting!

I may post more than once a week.  Depends on what I have to say.  You enjoy your day.

Bits Of This And That

 August 30, 2022

Good morning.  Today should be sunny with temps in the eighties.  Early this afternoon, a lady from the town will be by to ask me lots of questions.  This is because of the free lunches.  I'm only going to answer so many of her questions.  They don't need to know my history to drop off a free meal.

I thought I would share a photo of my flowers today.  They are loving the warm temps and all the sunshine.  These are so pretty.  I think they are all moss roses.

Perry Mason is on TV now and I'm trying to watch his program and type my blog post at the same time.  Perry Mason is ending, so I'll finish up my blog post and watch Matlock.  (coming on next)

I need to get back to my crocheting soon.  These two afghans are supposed to be Christmas gifts.  I think I'll work on one of them later this afternoon after our "lady guest" has come and gone.

My meal for the day has just arrived.  It looks like chicken, vegetable salad, potato salad, fruit and bread and butter.  And milk.  (Actually, it looks like this most days.)

I learned a new word this week.  Orchardist.  Definition:  an owner or supervisor of orchards.  I probably won't use this new word very often, but I'm glad to know it.

Now it's time to put the laptop away and watch my TV programs.  So, till next post, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous week.

Time To Get Back To Basics

August 23, 2022

Good morning.  Seems I forgot to post this past weekend.  And it's not because I'm busy.  I think this is the quietest year I've had in my whole life.

My whole life, I've been really busy.  However, since Covid 19 quieted everything down, my life has become wicked quiet.  I'm used to be going lots of places.  Nowadays, I don't go anywhere.  I used to have somewhere to drive (in my car) every day.  It's been over a year since I've last driven my car.

I didn't do any crocheting these past few days.  One of these days, I'll have to get back to it.  Otherwise, these afghans will never get finished.  For some reason, I just haven't been in the mood lately to crochet.

I found a picture of an unusual bird and thought I would share it.  It's a Magnolia Liliflora, and it is quite interesting.

Can you imagine having a garden full of flowers that look like birds?  Hmmm!  I think it would be quite interesting.

It's time now for me to check the refrigerator to see what's tasty for lunch.  So, till this weekend, you have a super week.

First Weekly Post

 August 14, 2022

Good morning.  I realize that I missed posting the other day, but nothing seems to be happening here so there's not much to write about.  Therefore, I think I'll post once a week on Sunday mornings.

I'm watching a shopping channel on TV, and it's quite entertaining.  I enjoy listening to how the different items are explained.  For the last few minutes, they've been explaining the uses for a long handled brush.  I must say that it's been very entertaining.

Think about it.  If you have ten minutes to explain a very simple item, what exactly are you going to say?  Your item doesn't do anything special.  It's just a brush with a long handle.  It takes quite a talent to be one of these sales persons.

Here is the brush being sold.  Price is $12.00.  Nope, I did not buy it.

I'm thinking that today will be a crochet day.  I haven't spent much time crocheting lately, and I really should get back to it.  Otherwise these two afghans will never get finished this year.  I don't understand why I haven't been in the mood to crochet.

Right now, a new program is on the TV.  It's Classic Concentration.  I enjoy figuring out what the puzzles are.  I'll bet it would be fun to be a contestant on this program.  Hmmm.  Nice thought.

Now it's time to check the refrigerator and see what looks tasty for lunch.  So, stay safe and have a fantabulous week.

Ta Da

August 8, 2022

Good afternoon.  Yup, I'm late again!  Nothing much happens around here so I forget that it's time to post again.  It's amazing how your life changes when your days get less busy.  I remember a time when I said that quieter days would be so much better.  However, now that the quieter days are here, it's just not so.

Tomorrow the temperature will be going down so I'll be able to enjoy sitting out on the porch.  I do think I'll take my crocheting out there with me.  I like to be busy when I'm sitting out.

I'm watching an adorable commercial on TV.  It shows the cutest puppies.  One of these days, I really should see about getting another little dog.  I miss my little Pogo.

I found another super T shirt on the web.  I think this one says it all!  What an awesome chicken!

Now I'm going to go back to watching TV and maybe make something for my supper.  I'll be back on Thursday.  Stay safe and have a fantrbulous week.

A Day Late

August 5,  2022

Good evening.  I found out earlier this evening that I missed typing a post yesterday.  Gee whiz, how did that happen?  Maybe because nothing is happening here?

This has to be the dullest year I've had in my life.  I think I'd like to blame Covid 19 for this.  Once my travel had been stopped, everything else just seemed to stop too.  I wonder if it was like this for other folks too.

Watching TV is probably the most exciting thing I do each day.  What would I do without my TV?  I can crochet and do puzzles while I watch TV.  When the TV was first invented, I wonder if anyone realized just how important it would become to so many people.

Is this cute, or is this cute?  It's the kind of picture that puts a smile on every face.  And it lets us know that even the tiniest animals have feelings.  Look at the smile, and the happy gleam in the eye.  This little critter is happy and adorable.

Now I think I'll crochet a row or two on an afghan.  I really need to do at least one row every day if I want to finish both of the afghans before Christmas.  So, be happy and have a super weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Such A Beautiul Day!

August 1, 2022

Good morning.  Today will be partly cloudy with temps in the low eighties.  It's actually a great day if you are needing to work outside today.  I'll have to sit on the porch for a while and enjoy the day.

First, I'll finish watching my TV programs. Even though I have a TV on the porch, I'm not familiar yet with the programs on it.  I'll have to work on this.

I'm finally working on the afghans again.  Hopefully, I can finish one of them this month.  Now that would be nice!  I've never had this problem before.  (not wanting to work on my projects)  It must be because all the colors are shades of blue and green.  I guess I won't be using these colors again for a while.

My lunch just came.  It is:  chicken scallopino, parslied rotini, roman vegetables, scala bread, butter, brownie cookie, and blueberry bites.  Sounds yummy!

Let's all say thank you for today.  It's a beautiful day.  If it's going to be like this all summer, Wowsie!  What a fantabulous summer it's going to be!

Now I'm going to get my things together and head for the porch for a while.  So, till Thursday, Y'all have a safe and fantabulous week.

Bits Of This And That

 July 28, 2022

Good morning.  My goodness, how quickly this month is going by!  In just a few days it will be August already.

I finally started crocheting on the afghans again.  Just a couple of rows, but at least it's a start.  For some reason I just haven't been in the mood for crocheting lately.  I must get back to it though because I need to have both of these afghans finished before December.

Well, I've been approved to receive a meal every Monday through Friday. (from Elder services)  It starts  today.  This is actually quite a nice deal.

Here's a cute image that I found on the web.  It seems to suit me every day.

Has anyone started their Christmas shopping yet?  I already have a couple things set aside to be wrapped.  I'd like to be finished by the beginning of November.  That's just three months away.  Time to get busy!

My tomato plant wasn't doing so good so I had Deanne take it home with her.  I'll have to ask her to take a photo of it so I can see how it's doing now.  I don't know why I grow a tomato plant every year.  It just seems like the thing to do.

The meals were supposed to start today, but it's almost noon and none has come yet.  I guess there won't be a meal today. Hmmm.

It's time to see what looks tasty in the refrigerator.  Ham and cheese maybe?  Mmmm, sounds good to me.  So, you stay safe and have a fantabulous weekkend.

Happy Birthday Bug Bunny

July 25, 2022

Good morning.  In two days it will be Bugs Buny's 82nd birthday.  He was born on July 27, 1940.  Happy Birthday Bugs Bunny!

All this week, the cartoons each morning (on TV) will feature Bugs Bunny.  In my area, the cartoons are on weekday mornings from 7 a.m. to 8 a.m. and Saturday mornings for two hours.

Another program that I enjoy is Inspiration Campmeeting with Dr. Mike Murdock. (televangelist)  I looked him up on Google and learned that he is extremely rich.  I guess all that money that folks send to him isn't just for doing good deeds.  Some of it must pay for his super rich lifestyle.

I have a new book to read.  This one is about the Black Dahlia murder case.  Here are the front and back covers to the book.

So far, I've read 55 pages (out of 357) and I've learned nothing about the murder.  Seems a lot of gangsters and LA Police are involved in the story.  So far.  Elizabeth Short is the Black Dahlia.  Guess what I'll be doing this afternoon.  Yup!  Reading!

It's getting close to noon so I think I'll check to see what looks tasty in the refrigerator.  You stay safe and have a fantabulous week.

Delicious!

July 21, 2022

Good morning.  Today will be sunny and hot with temps in the low nineties.  It will be a good day for a nap.  I did not sleep very well during the night so a nap is in order for today.  First, I will watch the rest of my morning TV programs.

Yesterday I had a tomato (from my plant)  sliced and in my sandwich.  Yum! Yum!  I plant tomatoes every year.  It's good to finally be able to eat them.

We're having a lot of hot temperatures now, so please, please, don't leave your pets in your vehicles.

The town has brought a meal to me on several different days over the last couple of weeks.  Deanne is checking to see what's involved in me getting these meals every day.  It's a big help, and the meals are tasty.

Sometimes I find some of the cutest things on the web.  I found this image and just had to have it.

Now I'm going to have a look in the fridge to see what looks tasty enough for lunch.  So till Monday, stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Brooms And Roses

July 18, 2022

Good morning.  Gosh, today would have been my Michael's and my Brother's birthdays.  Happy Birthday Guys, in Heaven.

It's gray outside, and I have to keep checking to see if it is raining, or is it just raining on the TV program that I'm watching.  (They are having rain and thunder)  It must be the TV program because there are no puddles forming in my yard.

Are any of you ladies looking for a new broom?  The broom manufacturers have come up with some really pretty new colors for this year's new brooms.  They are pretty, aren't they?  I may get the orange one or the pink one.  Or maybe both!

I've been in a reading mood lately, so I think I'll look up some library books.  Online, of course.  Maybe if I call and give the librarian a list of the books that I want, she'll have them at the desk so that I can just pick them up.  It's worth a try.

The TV on my porch works fine.  Now I just have to figure out what all the channels are and which ones my programs are on.  I suppose by the time I get all this done, it will be winter.  Aye yi yi!

Today I want to share a photo of one of Deanne's roses.  She has the prettiest roses!  Just look at this!

Now it's time to see what's for lunch.  So, stay safe and have a fantabulous week.  I'll be back on Thursday.

Happy Mac and Cheese Day

 July 14, 2022

Good morning.  It's quiet here. (What else is new?)  Today will be cloudy with 80 degree temps.  Actually a good day for sitting out.

Mac and Cheese is a common staple in most people's lives, often reminding us of our childhoods.  In the United States, it's actually celebrated every July 14th for National Mac and Cheese Day.  (info from Google) Have a big bowl of mac and cheese and enjoy it!

I looked online to see if we could have chickens in Randolph.  It said:  "Any Randolph resident wishing to keep livestock must complete an application, have the property inspected by the Town, notify neighbors and receive approval from the Town Manager.  Permits are valid for one year and must be renewed annually before 12/31."

Keep these figures in mind when you go out, and don't take your pets with you.  Leaving them in the car can be a death sentence.  PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE leave them at home.

I think I'll sit out on the porch for a while this afternoon.  After my nap, of course.  It seems like the older I get, the more important my nap becomes.  You too?

Now I'm going to see what's for lunch.  Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Do You Have Chickens?

July 7, 2022

Good morning.  This is just a short post to make up for forgetting to post yesterday.  It's been really quiet around here so there's not a lot to talk about.

I did sit out on the porch for a few hours yesterday, and I'll sit out there for a while this afternoon.  I have a box out there that I throw all the junk mail into.  Sitting there gives me a chance to go through this junk mail.

Here's a cute image that I found on the web.  Hmmm, I think I need to get me a few chickens.

Now I think I'm going to the kitchen and check out what's in the fridge for lunch.  So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Tis Another Super Day

July 7, 2022

Good morning.  Today will be sunny with temps at 80F degrees.  It's been really quiet here all week.

I'm watching TV and there was just an ad for an actor, Don Knotts.  Sad to say, this is one actor that I just never could learn to like.   I don't know why, I just have never liked this person.  Here he is portraying Barney Fife.

I wonder what it is that makes us like or not like certain people.  Mr. Knotts never did anything to make me not like him.  I just never could like him.  He is probably a very nice man.

I'm going to get back to my crocheting today.  I haven't been doing it at all lately.  This is not like me.  It seems like I've had a crochet hook in my hands for several years.

Today is "Law & Order, Criminal Intent" day on TV.  You know what I'll be watching.  I really enjoy the crime shows.  It's not the crime that interests me, but how each problem gets solved.  Puzzles are great for keeping the mind active.

It's time for lunch now so I'm going to the kitchen to see what looks good for my lunch.  So, you stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Happy July Fourth

July 4, 2022

Good morning.  It's been a really nice weekend.  Quiet, but nice.  It seems the older I get, the quieter it gets around here.  Hmmm.  Does that mean that I'm a noisy person?

This whole week will be sunny with temps in the eighties.  Great "sitting out" weather!  I may even eat my lunch out on the porch today.  Sounds like a great plan to me!

Today I'm going to share two more of my lilies.  The red ones and the light pink ones.

I think it's amazing that these beautiful flowers come in so many awesome colors.  Many years ago, I thought they only came in purple or yellow.  How great to be so wrong!

I've decided to blog twice a week now.  On Monday and Thursday.  There's just not enough happening in my life to chat about more than twice a week.  Hopefully that will change.  It's nice to have it a little bit busy now and then.

It's time to start thinking about next Christmas, and what to get or make for gifts.  I have no ideas at the moment, but I'll think about it for a while.  Usually, I'm half done putting things aside to be wrapped by now.  Not so this year.  I'm a bit behind myself.

Ah well.  It's lunch time now so I'm off to see what's in the refrigerator.  You have a safe and fantabulous week.

Happy Birthday Deanne

July 1, 2022

Good morning.  Tomorrow is Deanne's birthday.  And her friend Caroline's too.  Yesterday, they took the whole day off work and had a fun day for themselves.  Part of the day was spent having fun in a pool.

It was so good to see you both having so much fun.  I hope tomorrow is another super day for both of you.  Happy Birthday Deanne and Caroline.

The weather has been awesome lately, and my flowers are loving it.  Here's a photo of some of my lilies.  Aren't they just beautiful?

Here's some more of my lilies.  My favorite color, orange.

I say you can't have too many flowers in your yard.  I love to look around and see blossoms everywhere.  I feel the same way about all the birds in my yard.  I love watching and listening to all the beautiful bird calls.  So now you know why my porch is so important to me.

Today, I'm going to try to prune my tomato plant.  I do think that removing a few of the extra leaves and branches will be helpful to the tomatoes.  There are ten or twelve tomatoes already showing.  Awesome!

I have a lot of blog reading to catch up with too.  Hopefully I can do that this afternoon too.  Now I'm going to have a look in the fridge to see what looks good for lunch.  So, till Monday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

A Day For This And That

June 29, 2022

Good morning.  Today will be cloudy with temps in the mid eighties.  I'll sit out on the porch for a while until it gets too hot.

I love being able to look around and see blossoms of all colors.  My roses are in different colors; red, pink, yellow and white.  One of these days, I'll have to get me some multi colored roses.  Here's a photo of my yellow roses.

I did get a new plant in the mail yesterday.  A Holiday Cactus.  It's going to have either yellow or white blossoms.  I can't wait for it to get big enough to bloom.

I'm watching the Cartoon Show and let me tell you...some of these cartoons aren't even very funny.  I just watched Popeye and Pluto duke it out again.  Of course, Popeye won, but it was still a really silly cartoon.  I guess that's why they are written for children, not adults.

Today I'm going to get back to working on my afghans.  I really need them to be finished before Christmas.  One of them is at the half done mark and the other one is getting close to half done.  I'll be glad to get them done so that I can start a new project.

It's early so I think I'll head for the kitchen to see what's for breakfast.  So, till Friday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Unexpected Bravery

June 27, 2022

Good morning.  Tis nice today.  Cloudy, but nice.  It's a great day for doing yard work.  For me, it's a great day to get rid of junk mail.

I've been reading my book about women and children in the Civil War.  It's amazing how many women and children were actually taking part in the war.  Very very brave people.  Here are photos of two women who fought in the Civil War.  Loreta Janeta Velaquez and Sarah Emma Edmonds.

I think these women are just amazing!  And the children too, that worked alongside their heros.  Here are photos of the Howe Brothers, Orion and Lyston.  Just imagine them fighting a war so that you and I could live free.

The book is "Unexpected Bravery"  (Women and Children of the Civil War)  by A.J Schenkman/  If you look it up, I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

It's almost noon now so I'll be checking the fridge to see what's for lunch.  Enjoy your day.  I'll see you again on Wednesday.  Stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Super TV

June 24, 2022

Good morning.  Today will be in the seventies and mostly cloudy.  Tomorrow and Sunday will be hot and sunny.  This morning I'm watching the Cartoon show.  Some days I just have to feel sorry for the Coyote as he chases after the Road Runner.  He never wins.  Just once, you'd think the writers would let him win a little bit.

My morning (weekdays) TV is pretty good.  It starts with "Dragnet", then "My Three Sons", "Leave It To Beaver", "Perry Mason", "Matlock", and "In The Heat Of The Night".  That's five hours of awesome TV.  After that, I watch "Law & Order", "Blue Bloods" and the game shows.  Now you can see why I'm going to enjoy that TV on my porch.

Here's a photo of my tomatoes.  There are quite a few of them growing.

I learned a new word this week too.  Kerfuffle.  A kerfuffle is a disturbance or commotion typically caused by a dispute or conflict.  EX:  "In all the kerfuffle, nobody seemed to have noticed...."

There's a commercial on the TV now about a foldaway fan.  Did you know that people take fans with them when they go fishing, and out into the yard when they are gardening?  According to the television commercial they do.  I have never seen fans at either of these places.

Here's a great image that I borrowed from the web.  I wish all folks would realize that when the ground is hot, it's probably too hot for your pets too.

Now it's time for me to get back to my TV programs.  So, till Monday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

The Price Of Milk

June 22, 2022

Good morning.  Today will be cloudy with temps in the low seventies.  Another awesome day.  I hope all this awesome weather doesn't mean that summer is going to be wicked hot.

Yesterday I paid all the bills, and today I think I'll clean out a bag full of junk mail.  I'm saving my crocheting for evening time.

I found a very interesting map online and borrowed it to share with you.  This one tells what it costs for a gallon of milk in every state.

There's quite a difference in prices.  $0.93 to $3.78.  At least, I think I got all the prices.  I tried to find out what year this information came from but I had no luck.  I find it very interesting that states with the highest and lowest prices are right next to each other.  How can this be?

Here's a super new tee shirt that I found on the web.  It says I have OCD.  Obsessive Crochet Disorder.

I wonder who thinks up all these super sayings for the tee shirts.  It has to be an awesome job.

Today "Meals On Wheels" came by again with a meal for me.  This is the second time they've come by.  I don't know how I got on the list, but it sure is nice.

Now it's time to watch In The Heat Of The Night.  Mornings I watch "Perry Mason", "Matlock", and "In The Heat Of The Night".  Three very different types of crime stories.  Awesome!

So, till Friday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Happy Juneteenth

June 20, 2022

Good morning.  Today we celebrate Juneteenth.  It's a national holiday, but not everyone celebrates it.  Today is also my son Gary Jr's birthday.  Happy Birthday Gary Jr.  Have an awesome day.

Today will be sunny with temps in the seventies.  A super day to enjoy being outdoors.  My plants are loving these temps too.  I already have several little tomatoes on my plant.  That's more than last year's plant got all summer.

For some reason, I haven't been spending very much time crocheting.  This is not good.  These afghans will never get finished if I don't spend some time working on them.  Instead, I've been doing lots of puzzles. (Find A Word and Crossword)   I love doing puzzles.

I found this picture of the poison ivy plants.  It shows how each of them looks.  This is good to know, especially now when all the plants are growing.

I guess not everyone knew that today was a holiday because the whole neighborhood put out their trash barrels this morning.  No trash is being picked up today.  Trash will be picked up tomorrow.

Now I think I'll have a look in the refrigerator to see what's for lunch.  So, till Wednesday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

New Words

June 17, 2022

Good morning.  Today is sunny with clouds, and temps will be near eighty degrees.  Another nice day for sitting outside.  And I will be after I finish using my laptop.

I learned another new word this morning.  Vyepti.  What is it?  It's a prescription drug used to help prevent migraine episodes in adults.  I often wonder how they come up with the names for all the new drugs.  Vyepti.  Hmmmm.

I have tomatoes beginning on my plant.  Today I'll have to try to get some photos.  This plant is rather thick so I think I'll get quite a few tomatoes.  That would be nice.

Here's a photo I borrowed from the web.  Do you recognize this fellow?

In 1950, when he was just 18, he was drafted into the United States Airforce.  Have you guessed who he is yet?  He's Willie Nelson.  He was quite a handsome young man.

I found this really adorable picture (on the web) of a fox and a rabbit, and thought it really should be shared.  I love how animals get along together so well.

Now it's time for me to enjoy some blog reading.  So, till Monday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

This And That

June 15, 2022

Good morning.  Except for Friday, this week's temps should be in the seventies.  Very comfortable for sitting outside.  This is good because that's exactly what I'm planning on doing today.

I used to wonder why so many bloggers cut their posting back to once or twice a week from several days a week.  It seems that once we get to a certain age, not much happens so there's not much to talk about on our blog.  I'm at that age and it's not always easy to think of things to write about.

Today though, I can share photos of some of my roses.  This is still a young bush, and the blossoms are beautiful.

I need to check my tomato plant today.  Deanne's plant already has tomatoes on it.  Maybe mine does too?  That would be nice.  This photo is Deanne's tomato plant.

My Marigolds and Moss Roses are looking great with lots of colorful blossoms.  My white roses are beginning to blossom too.  I'll have to get a nice photo of them in bloom.

I have a big bag full of junk mail out on the porch.  I'll try to get rid of most of it today.  I did order a small TV for the porch and it is supposed to arrive tomorrow.  I'll be glad when I can watch my programs while I'm sitting out there.

I watched a lot of TV thus morning so now it's time to be making something for my lunch.  On this happy note, I'll take my leave.  See you again on Friday.  Till then, stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

A Busy New Day

June 13, 2022

Good morning.  It rained a bit during the night, enough to leave a big puddle at the end of my driveway.  Today will be cloudy/sunny with temps around eighty degrees.  A good day to sit out on the porch for a while.

I should read a chapter or two in my book too.  Normally I don't stop reading a book until I've reached the end of it but this one is different.  It's not my kind of "fun" reading so it's taking me a bit longer to read it.

This weekend, Joe cleaned the whole driveway.  My driveway is the size of a small yard.  It's more like a parking lot than a driveway, and it looks really nice now.  With all the trees in my yard, there's always tons of leaves, cones, twigs, etc all over the driveway.

Here's a photo of Twiggy.  You can see that is growing now.

Kevin's baseball season has started up again.  Yesterday, Deanne and Eddie went to Kevin's game and took this photo of him playing.  I'll have to make it one or two of his games too.  I do enjoy watching him play ball.

I think this will be a good week to wash my dresses.  Three or four of them need to be washed, and this is great weather for hanging them out on the line to dry.  Do any of you still hang clothes out on a line to dry after washing them?   I know most folks use a dryer these days, but there is something special about how clothes smell after drying out on a clothesline.  So fresh!

Today I have one more picture to share that I downloaded from the web.  How adorable is this little dog sniffing the rose?  Just beautiful!

Now I'm off to get a cold bottle of water and watch a bit of TV.  So, till Wednesday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

A New Book To Read

June 10, 2022

Good morning.  Today will be cloudy with temps nearing eighty degrees.  Another awesome day.

I had ordered a new book and it came a couple days ago.  It's very slow reading though.  The book is called "Deacon's Crossbow" by David G. Brown.  It's about a crossbow killing on Interstate 95 on February 20, 1994.

The fellow with the crossbow (Donald Graham)  was my sister in law's husband.  They were on their way home from dancing class when this whole episode happened.   In court, Donald was sentenced to life in prison without parole.  Want to know what heppened?  You can find the book on Amazon for $15.00.  Or maybe your library has a copy that you can borrow.

On a happier note, I have yellow roses in bloom.  They really are quite beautiful.  Have a lookee.

I love roses of all colors but there is something special about yellow ones.  They are sort of like sunshine on a stem.  Oh so very beautiful.

I haven't been crocheting much lately so I guess that's what I'll do this afternoon.  I need to work on the afghans or they'll never get finished.  You can be sure that it will be a very long time before I make anything with blue and green yarns again.  (colors in the afghans)

Now it's time to make a cup of coffee and some breakfast.  So, till Monday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

We Needed This Rain

June 8, 2022

Good morning.  Today is wet (raining) and temps will be in the seventies, maybe even hit 80 degrees.  It's definitely a great day for sitting out on the porch.  Today I'll order a small TV that Eddie will hook up on the porch for me.

I'm watching "Concentration" on TV this morning, hosted by Jack Narz.  I think of all the show hosts, Mr. Narz is the least enjoyable to watch.  (to me)   I'm not really sure why this is, I just know that I don't find him very interesting.

Jack Narz hosted Concentration from 1973 to 1978.  He died October 15, 2008.  I looked him up on Google, and he sounded really interesting.  Just not to me, I guess.

Today I did something I've never done before.  I turned OFF Perry Mason and tuned in to a game show.  The character that Perry was playing seemed to turn me off.  Gosh, I hope this doesn't happen again.

My plant "Twiggy" is starting to grow.  I noticed yesterday that it has gotten bigger.  Later, I'll go out and take a photo of it.  Twiggy is a Hummingbird Mint plant.  I'm really interested to see what it will look like when it gets big enough to be planted in the ground.

My outdoor plants are doing really well.  Here's a photo that Deanne took yesterday.  See all the yellow flowers on my tomato plant?  I hope this means lots of tomatoes.  (maybe I should take a close up photo of this plant.)

Now I think it's time for me to check the refrigerator to see what looks good for lunch.  So, till Friday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.
