Farewell To July

July 31, 2019

Good morning.  Tis three o'clock in the morning and I'm wide awake.  Earlier in the evening, I had been doing a word find puzzle and I got really tired and fell asleep early.  Today is going to be another hot day with temps in the nineties, but right now temps are at 73F degrees.

According to the weather app on my phone, it will be raining here soon.  I just looked and the rain hasn't started yet, but the humidity is at 94% so it just might start soon.  That would be nice for the plants and the grass.

Yesterday morning, Deanne got here just as I was finishing my blog post to take me to the car dealer so that I could get a new safety sticker on my car.  The only thing my car needed was new windshield wipers, so that was good.

When we got back I noticed a new little white rose in the garden near the shed.  I brought out my camera to capture a few blossoms.  The Rose Of Sharon bush also had a few new blooms.  So here's a few shots from around the shed.

This is all part of the view I have from my porch.  With this heat so wicked, I'm really missing sitting out there and enjoying all of this.  But of course, that's the beauty of photos.  I can still enjoy looking at these beautiful blossoms.

I'm anxious for my two new books to arrive today so that I can figure out some meals.  I have a lot of questions when I see my heart doctor next visit.  I need to know exactly what type of diet I'm supposed to be on.  Right now, everything I enjoy is on the no no list and everything that I don't like is on the good list.  This makes for  really blah meals.

In the hospital, I got decent meals without any restrictions other than salt.  Hopefully, I can add more tasty things to my meals other than just garden salads.  I have to weigh myself every day to keep an eye on water retention.  I gained three pounds the day I left the hospital without eating any extra foods.  This could be the difference between my scale and how they weighed me in the hospital.  (in the bed)

Since I've been home, my weight is up or down only by a few ounces each day.  The total is down by almost one pound.  I guess that means there is still water retention so my meds will have to be adjusted.  I guess there is a bright side here.  If I can continue to lose an ounce or two each day, it should only take a few years to drop down another size or two.  hahahahaha.

In all fairness, it's not really as bad as I like to paint it.  I'm not really much of a cook any more, so I'll just have to get back into cooking more.  Today though, I think I'm going to make a bowl of Jello.  I can have this with Cool Whip for dessert.  Or maybe I'll make a Jello/Cool Whip pie.  Hmmm, decisions, decisions!

Now I'm off to make a cup of coffee and maybe crochet for a while.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

July is Fading Quickly

July 30, 2019

Good morning.  Are you noticing that we are almost at the end of July?  Yup, just today and tomorrow left.  How quickly the days are flying by.  The sun is shining, the temperature is 75F degrees with 83% humidity, and in a few hours temps will be up in the mid to high nineties.  We're in for another scorcher.

My car needs to go in to the shop either today or tomorrow for a new safety sticker.  Otherwise, it has to come off the road.  In this state, we can't drive our cars without a current safety sticker.  I find it amazing that other states do not have this same rule.  It's mostly for the safety of the driver and any other occupants of the car.

Obviously, there's not much new happening here.  I'm busy playing with my food numbers.  I have to say that putting this much effort into figuring out what foods I can have and how I can have them does take the edge off enjoying them.  By the time I've got it all figured out, I'm not all that hungry anymore.

Maybe this is why I never decided to study foods and diets.  It's not really all that interesting.  At least not to me.  I guess I wasn't cut out to be a scientist.  Unless of course the topic is rocks and gemstones.  I just love rocks and gemstones.

I have a big black rock that my Uncle Freddie gave to me years ago.  The story is that while he and his wife were traveling across the mid-western states in their mobile home, they had a huge black rock that they used as an extra brake.  They would place it behind one of the tires for extra braking support.  They found this huge rock somewhere in the desert.

On one of their stops, they learned that their big black rock was actually Black Jade.  Of course, by now big chunks had been knocked off the rock so it was much smaller now.  Once they learned that the rock was actually Black Jade, they brought it inside the mobile home.  Later, Uncle Fred gave the rock to me.  One of these days, I'll have to take a photo of my beautiful big black rock and share it here.

I found a couple really neat ideas on the web to share here.  The first one is a way to recycle and help the small birds at the same time.   What a great idea for a birdhouse!

Did you ever think that a cupcake paper liner could help keep flies and other bugs out of your drinks?  Well, neither did I!  This is so simple, yet super helpful.

Before I go, let me leave you with this interesting little story about Karma.  (borrowed from the web)

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

So, What's In Our Food?

July 29, 2019

Good morning. It looks nice outside my window, but I know it's going to be a scorcher in just a while.  Thank goodness for air conditioning.  I can't imagine how folks in warmer climates can get used to this heat.

Today I have photos to share that Audrey sent me.  They were taken at Falls Park, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.   The first photo is Mac and Audrey at the Falls.  The second is of the Falls.

Mac had entered two sculptures in the competition at the National Taxidermy Convention, and both pieces took a second place award.  These sculptures can be made into forms for mounting animals in taxidermy.

Mac also won the People's Choice Award.  This is where everyone attending votes on their favorite pieces in all the different categories.  Congratulations Mac.

Yesterday was a rather quiet day for me.  I did manage to do a bit of personal laundry.  Today I may wash a few scatter rugs.  We'll see.  I'm learning to not make plans.  To just go with whatever happens.  Maybe later this afternoon, I'll do some crocheting.

I've been taking photos of the Nutrition Facts label on the different foods that I have bought.  This way I can decide what I can and cannot eat.  I copy this information into a notebook so that I can study it better.  Who'd a thunk this would be my next hobby?

I'll have to go online and see if there are books with the nutritional labels from all the different brands of foods.   This might be a big help and save me a lot of writing in my notebook.

Well, I just did that.  I found several books on Amazon, so I ordered a couple.  They will be here in a couple days.  I'll let you know how they are.

Deanne just got here, so I'm going to sit and visit with her.  She has to go to work in a while.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

A Super Fun Weekend

July 28, 2019

Good morning.  It's sunny and quite lovely outside right now, but in a few hours temps will be in the low nineties.  Pogo and I will be staying indoors with the air conditioning.  I'm having my first cup of coffee in over a week.  Does it taste good?  You betchaa!!

I'm feeling a little better each day, and I'm definitely breathing better!  I even did some laundry Friday night..  I washed Pogo's little bed and his blankets.  Today I'm going to wash my clothes.

It's been quite a busy weekend in the family.  Mac and Audrey went to Sioux Falls, South Dakota for a Taxidermy trade convention.  Mac entered a couple of his sculptures in the competition and both pieces took ribbons.  I'll have photos of these on tomorrow's post.

Jazzy went to the West Point Military Academy Ball Friday evening, and then attended the graduation on Saturday.  I have a couple photos that Deanne sent to me.  This is Jazzy and her very best friend Cole.

This morning, I've been watching Jewel School on JTV, and it's been quite interesting.  They are show casing tools to make it easy to make the knots on pearl strings, and to make the holes in the pearls big enough to string.  Gosh, where were these tools when I needed them?   I used to have to do this by hand, one bead at a time.

Before I take my leave here, I want to share something that I borrowed from the web.  This is important, and it is something that I did not know.

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading before I start a load of laundry.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I'm Home Now!

July 26, 2019

Good morning.  YOU GUYS ARE AWESOME!  It is so uplifting to come in here (and in my email) and find such wonderful get well messages.  I never had a chance to feel down in the dumps this whole past week.  Whatever treat you are allowed, have an extra today for being so awesome.  You deserve it!

Yup, I'm home!  And my Pogo is home too!  The doctor came in yesterday morning and said I needed to have more lab work to see if my kidneys were back on track yet.  So, a while later, that very happy lab guy came around to collect more blood.  Ever notice how super cheerful these blood collectors are?

I then ordered my lunch from the room service, and cheerfully planned ahead for my supper.  I was going to have the pasta and meatballs that I had the night before for supper.  It was yum, yum, yummie!  But it was not to be.  The doctor came back around 4 p.m. and said that my tests all looked good and I would be on my way home around 5 p.m.

Bottom line, after all the tests were done, my heart and my kidneys are doing fine.  I do have to make some adjustments to my salt and fluid intake.  No problem, I don't use or add salt to my food anyway.  I do have to be more aware of the salt that is already included in food.  Plus, my heart doctor said that I am allowed one cup of coffee a day.  He said that everyone deserves to have their morning cup of java.

Last night I had trouble sleeping so I got up and updated some bookkeeping, and paid some bills.  Now I'm just waiting for the mail carrier to put the bills in the mail.  Next I did a Find A Word puzzle.  By then, my eyes were finally closing.

This morning, on the news, a question was being put out to the public about changing the date of Halloween to the last Saturday in October.  Supposedly to make it safer for children to go out and do their "trick or treating."  I believe it is really to make the holiday more convenient for a lot of adults.

Folks, Halloween is October 31.  Learn to deal with it!  It's not just a holiday for kids to go out and collect candy!  What's to stop lawmakers to change New Years to a Sunday?   When will people stop trying to change our customs to suit the needs of a few?

Today I have a cute tomato image to share.  This is to celebrate my little green tomato.

I also have another photo of that cute little squirrel that I showed here yesterday.

I can't forget to post a new photo of my beautiful red Knock Out roses.  Such a cheerful sight to come home to.

Well, Jazzy and Krissy and Bob are on their way to New York.  Tonight is the big night of the West Point Military Academy Ball.  Krissy and Bob are Cole's parents.  (Cole is Jazzy's date)    Krissy has promised to take photos of Jazzy before she leaves for the ball, and will order some professional photos of both Jazzy and Cole.  I can't wait to see these photos!

Now I'm going to rest for a while before putting a load of laundry into the washer.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

I'm Still Here

July 25, 2019

Good morning.  I was up early this morning, but first I had to figure out how to turn on the wi-fi here.  I called in my breakfast order about twenty minutes ago.  The food isn't too bad here.  Some of it is downright delicious.  This morning I'm going to try pancakes and a fruit salad.  Yum, yum!

I don't have any more news yet, but there is a little improvement in my blood pressure.  It was wicked high when I first got here.  It's coming down in baby steps.  Yesterday, the doctor said we would take it day by day as to when I would be going home.  No problem.  Everyone here is nice, and my little guy is at his Auntie Dee's house.

I asked her to send me a photo of him, so last night she sent me this.  He looks like a raggy Lion King, and I miss him so.  We were going to do so many things this week, including a salon appointment for him, but that will wait till I get home.

I have another lily photo to share.  I have lots of these gorgeous orange beauties in my yard.

And then I have one other photo that I took of one of the playful squirrels in my yard.  They are so cute to watch when they are playing.

There's a delightful elderly lady in the bed next to me and we've been enjoying some chats.  She is ninety five years young and quite comical.  It seems we have lots in common, including doctors, children with handicaps, towns lived in, etc.  I will miss our fun chats when I do leave here.

I'll have to sign off here because my food will be arriving shortly.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Now How Did I Get That?

July 24, 2019

Good afternoon.  Yup, I'm still here in the hospital.  Yesterday afternoon I had the first half of the stress test.  They came for me at 7:30 this morning to go have the other half of the test.  That took about three hours from start to finish.

I'm still waiting for the outcome from the heart stress test, but I already got results from the ultrasound on my kidneys, bladder and belly.  It seems I have an Aneurysm in the Aorta mid section measuring about 3.5.  If it gets to 5 then surgery would be needed to put in a stent (I  think that's what he said).  So far though, we're just monitoring it.  Thanks for little blessings.

There is some kidney failure (only moderate) so this will be monitored too for now.  My blood pressure is still wicked high, so now they are working on bringing that down.  There will be no going home today.  The heart doctor should be in later to discuss the results from the stress test.

So that's my update so far.  Here's a new photo to show off all my pretty wires.  (from heart monitor)

Deanne stopped by my house and took this photo of my tomato.  One beautiful little green tomato!

I want to thank everyone for the well wishes.  It means a lot knowing you care.  Theresa, you had me  giggling.  That's what my daughter Audrey (in Virginia) says all the time.  "Don't make me come up there!"  hahahahaha.

I haven't been keeping up so good with reading the blogs and leaving comments.  But I will catch up whenever I have the chance to use my laptop.  I will leave you now with one of the photos that I took just before things took a turn for the worse.  Some of my lilies are a beautiful yellow.  These are such happy flowers.

I'm off now till tomorrow (hopefully).  Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I Now Have CHF

July 23, 2019

Good  morning.  Gosh, I missed a whole day here.  Sorry 'bout that.  My breathing got so bad that yesterday morning Deanne and Eddie came to my house and we called 911. By 5 a.m. I was on my way to the hospital in an ambulance  I have to say that those  EMT's were awesome!

I spent most of the day in the ER having all sorts of tests, etc.  Believe it or not, the hospital was full and did not have any beds ready to admit me (and a lot of other folks).  By later afternoon, they finally found a room for me.

Sad to say, it seems that I have congestive heart failure.  Now where did that come from?  Hmm, this means a lot of changes for me.  I'm not sure I'm crazy about this, but I don't really have a choice.  So I'll just have to behave myself and try sticking to whatever diet I'm given.  I'll also have to do a better job of taking all my meds.  I don't like to take pills.  Hmmm, another new change that I'll have to do better.

I don't know how long I'll be in the hospital, but I'll try to blog each day.  If I'm not here, it probably just means that my laptop needs to be plugged in.  If it's anything more serious, my daughter Audrey said that she would post here for me.

The worst part of all of this is that my precious little Pogo has been home alone all this time.  Last night we had a nasty thunder and lightning storm with heavy rain.  It lasted quite awhile, and my heart was hurting because I knew my little Pogo was home scared and all alone.  They really should let people bring their fur babies to the hospital with them!

A few days ago, I found a gorgeous coffee  mug on the net, and I just had to order it for myself.  It was blue.  Shortly thereafter, I found a red one and ordered that one too.  I really don't need any new coffee mugs, but I figured why not?   Of course, I don't know what I'll drink out of them because they are telling me that I can't have my coffee or hot chocolate any more.  Hmmm, I'll have to find a way around that one.  Here are my new mugs.

My breakfast should be here soon, so that's it for today.  Til tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

We're Having A Heat Wave!

July 21, 2019

If I wait eight more minutes, I can say Good afternoon!  Well, I'll say it anyway.  Today is another scorcher here in New England.  Well, at least in my little part.  It's making it very difficult for me to breathe.  So far though, I'm hanging in there.

I haven't done much of anything since early yesterday morning..  Just moving takes my breath away.  So I'm watching a lot of TV.  Isn't it sort of sad how we wait all through the long cold winter for the warm weather to get here, and then when it gets here it's too warm to enjoy?

Ah well, as long as I can breathe, I still have lots of things to keep me busy.  Needless to say, the Spring and Fall are my favorite times of the year.   Wouldn't it be nice if all our beautiful flowers and trees could bloom in the winter?  Hmmm, just thinking out loud.

A lot of folks are really hurting in this wicked heat.  Don't forget to check in with your elders and your sickly or elderly neighbors to make sure they are okay.  I borrowed this chart from the web because I thought it might be helpful.

Don't forget to bring your pets indoors.  This heat is brutal on them too.  Don't think that a doghouse is a good protection from the heat.  Read this.

Don't forget your chickens either!  I borrowed this interesting item from the web to share here.  I think it's a great idea!

Last evening, Deanne sent me these photos of my great grandbabies having fun and keeping cool in her pool.  The first photo is Aurora, and the next photo is her brother Xander.

A few days ago, I ordered a Diamond Dazzle Stick (otherwise known as a Sparkle Pen).  It's used to clean the stones in your rings.  Not  the opals and pearls of course.  It came yesterday morning, and I used it to clean the ring I've been wearing.  Wowsie!  My ring really sparkles now!  It came as a package of three, and the cost is quite tiny.  I'm keeping one stick and giving the others to my girls.

Now I'm going to do a bit of blog reading.  First I'll grab me a fresh bottle of cold water.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all please stay cool, and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I'm Embracing My Old Age

July 19, 2019

Good afternoon.  I know I'm late, but I had some errands to do this morning before it got too hot to go out.  Deanne came with me so I could return some things to WalMart.  Then we picked up a few things, and headed back home.

We did stop by McDonalds to get some iced coffee.  I like their coffee so much better than Dunkin Donuts, and I don't do Starbucks.  Earlier, I had stopped at the Dollar Store to get some new little pads of notepaper.  I really needed these because the pad I'm using only has two more clean pieces of paper to write on.

Did I ever mention that I have a thing for paper?  Yup, I do.  I love paper.  My hubby and I used to love to go yard saling on the weekends.  I used to find all sorts of fabulous paper notebooks and pads of paper.  Finally, I had to stop buying anymore for quite a while because my paper stash got so huge.  hahaha.  Somewhere in my earlier life, paper must have been very important to me.  I still love paper, but I'm not as bad about collecting it anymore.

Here's a new photo of me going through the drive thru at McDonald's a few days ago when I was picking up some take out for our supper.  I'm posting this to let everyone know that I am doing pretty good.  Sorry about the snooty grin.  I don't take very good selfies.

These next couple of days here will bring temps around 100F degrees.  Please be careful of your fur babies.  And folks, if you're planning on moving, or if someone you know is moving, please please don't leave the fur babies behind.  They will die.  Please take them with you.  They are family!

I never leave Pogo in the car alone.  Either he goes inside with me wherever I am, or I leave him at home.  If I leave him at home, I make sure to have the air conditioner (or heat, whatever is needed) on.  I tell him I will be back as soon as I can.

I stumbled across this next photo on the web and I just had to borrow it to share here.  There is so much positive energy in this picture.  And the message is true.  Most all my friends and family around my age have already moved on to a higher place.  A lot of them never got to grow old like I have.  The caption with this picture read:  "Embrace old age.  It's a privilege denied to many."

Today, I wore my red, white and blue muu muu dress when I went shopping.  It's a very comfortable dress.  I may look like a short round colorful clump with a pony tail, but I don't care.  This dress was made specially for old folks like me. (young folks too)   Besides, I'm a nice clump!  hahaha.

Now I have some things to do, plus I want to catch up on some blog reading.  Before I go, let me leave you with a big smile.  Anything in your house need fixing?????  (image borrowed from web)

So, till  Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Happy Birthday, Michael and Artie

July 18, 2019

Good morning.  Tis gray and wet outside, with a lovely breeze.  The temperature is 69F degrees, and  will reach the early seventies later this afternoon.  The coolness is a nice change from all the heat we've had.

Late yesterday afternoon, we had thunder and lightning and heavy rain.  I took photos of my phone's weather app.  This is what the next few days look like at the moment.  Hmmm, seems we are in for a bit of the wet stuff.

My hubby and my brother shared the same birthday.  They both loved lobster.  So every year on their birthday, I would cook them a big lobster dinner complete with corn on the cob, potato salad, garden salad, melted butter, nice cold beer and anything else they wanted.  Happy Birthday guys.  I miss you.

Yesterday was a good day for me, so Pogo and I went shopping at Ocean State Job Lot after we dropped Deanne off at her work.  On the way home, we stopped by the bank and then on to McDonalds for some take out supper.  Yup, it was a very good day.

I think maybe I'd like to plant more Hosta in my yard.  I have some, and it is so pretty now.

Usually the flower stems stand up quite tall, but these last two heavy downpours of rain have knocked a lot of the plants down.  Still, my Hostas are very pretty.

I have good news to share.  My tomato plant has finally sprouted a few little yellow flowers.  Woo Hoo!  I guess there's still a chance that I might grow a tomato or two!  Sad, sad, sad.  What sort of nut case gets all excited over a garden producing one tomato?  I guess just special folks like me.  I get excited watching little birds splashing and bathing in a puddle, and growing even just one tomato gives me enough hope to plant another tomato plant next year.  Yup, sad!

BUT, my little dog loves me just the way I am.  And that's good.  More than good.  But then all you folks with fur babies of your own know exactly how I feel.  I wouldn't trade my little guy for anything.  My guardian angels were watching out for me the day Pogo came to live with me.  He's been such a joy to me.

Okay, enough of my babbling.  I'm off to do a bit of blog reading, and I want to call Deanne to see if she wants to do any grocery shopping or other errands.  So, till  tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Another Super Day

July 17, 2019

Good morning.  The sun keeps popping in and out, and the temperature is 77F degrees and headed for the upper eighties.  There is a little breeze, which is making my flag wave about happily.  The humidity is at 83 %, and we're supposed to get rain later in the day.  We could use a bit of rain to keep our plants happy.

Yesterday was another busy day for me.  After Pogo and I took Deanne to work, we headed for the medical supply store to get me a new walker.  I never realized how much paper work was involved, but it didn't  take too long to get it all done.  I picked out a maroon walker with a nice big seat on it.

There is a basket under the seat that Pogo can ride in, but then I would not be able to sit.  So now I'm still looking for a folding basket to put on the front of the walker for Pogo.  I have found a few of them, but I don't like the way they attach to the walker.

Now I will clean up the walker that I've been suing and set is aside until someone else needs one.  There is nothing wrong with it, except that the seat is too narrow for me.  I can't fit my tushi on it.  This walker was my hubby's.  He was tall and thin.

Ob the way home from the medical supply store, we took a ride through the park.  Sad to say, I did not  have my camera with me.  There was a swan family way out in the water.  They were quite a distance away, but I did the best I could to get a photo with my cell phone.

I also stopped to get a photo of one of the waterfalls.  They are so pretty and sound so peaceful.

When we got home, I uploaded some photos that Deanne had sent to my phone of her guinea pig (Clyde) and Jazzy's kitten (Pickles).  For some reason, Pickles loves to climb into Clyde's bed and sleep with him.  Aren't they just the cutest?

Today will be much quieter.  We'll take Deanne to work, and on the way home we'll stop by the bank.  Got to pay those bills!  hahaha.  Depending on how I'm feeling, we may or may not stop by Ocean State Job Lot.

After that, it's back home  for us.  There are dishes in the sink waiting for me to tend to them.  There's always dishes in the sink!  I can't usually stand there long enough to wash all of them at one time.  I would put in a dishwasher, but there is no room for one.

As for my new oxygen concentrator, I can feel  the difference already.  My breathing is much better.  I can even be off the oxygen for periods of time like before.  With the old concentrators, I needed the oxygen 24 hours around the clock.  What a difference the right equipment makes.

Tomorrow, I may call in an order for a few groceries to be picked up.  Joe said he would get them for me on his way home from work.  I won't need very much, but I do like the frozen breakfast bowls and I'd like to order some of them.  Plus milk and water, and a few other staples.

Now I'm going to have my coffee and do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Lots Of Good Things Happening

July 16, 2019

Good morning.  Goodness, I'm getting a slow start today.  It's already after ten o'clock.  Ah well, I don't have any early morning appointments today.  It's just absolutely lovely outside right now.  The temp is in the high seventies, the sun is shining and there is a nice little breeze.

I do have to go out for a while, so I'll do that after I've finished this post.  By mid afternoon, temps will be up around ninety degrees.  I'll want to be  back here with my air conditioning by then.  Yesterday was quite the busy day, but I did get a lot accomplished.

In the morning, I saw my orthopedic doctor for my follow up.  This was a good visit, but it was also a sad one.  He said that he is retiring by the end of next month.  Boo hoo hoo.  I'm really going to miss him.  I've been seeing him for thirty five or more years.  He's a peach!  Before I left there, he gave me a prescription to get my own new walker.

When I got home, I called the insurance company to find out how to get the walker, and then I made some calls to find a medical supplier where I could pick one up.  After this, I called the oxygen folks, and they said that my new concentrator would be delivered later in the afternoon.

Next, I picked up Deanne and took her to her job.  Her car is out of commission  for a while.  She is always doing things for me, so it's nice to be able to help her.  When I got back home, I had to find out why my Sunday blog did not get posted.  I know I posted it, but somehow it only got saved as a draft.  I posted it again and checked to make sure it was visible.

I got a really nice surprise in my email.  Someone left me a message that my blog post was not up and was I alright.  She missed me.  Wowsie!  Do you know how special that made me feel?  Angelica, you are a very special lady and you inspire me so.  It would be such a treat to meet you in person some day.  Now wouldn't that be a treat?

After that, my new oxygen concentrator arrived.  The man did not seem very happy, but I was.  This new machine is smaller and very quiet.  When I'm using the oxygen from it, I don't get dizzy when I get up to walk.  It's already quite an improvement.  Yeaaaaaaaaaaa!

I found this saying on the web and had to share it.  When we get older, going out for any reason can be such a treat..  Does this ring a bell with anyone?  hahaha.

This morning, Pogo and I are watching Daniel Tiger on the TV.  It's a really cute kids program.  Today, it's about using your words to express how you feel instead of getting mad and making loud noises.  It's a good lesson for kids.  And it's very entertaining.

Here's another image that I borrowed from the web.  This is something for all you folks with kitty kats.  It's called a Catio, and shouldn't be too difficult to build.  I imagine that your kitty kats would really love it.

Now it's time for me to get dressed and go see about picking up my new walker.   After lunch, Pogo and I will go pick up Deanne and take her to work.  Then it's back to our cool living room for the rest of the day  .Maybe I'll even crochet a while later on.  I actually picked up the pink afghan a couple nights ago and put on another couple rows.

I'm off now, so till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Another Good Day

July 14, 2019

Good morning.  The sun is shining and temps are at 77F degrees.  They should get up into the high eighties soon, and maybe a bit of rain for the morning.  It doesn't look like rain though.  We'll just have to wait and see.

I will try to post tomorrow if I get up early enough.  Otherwise, I may post in the afternoon.  It depends on how late it is when I can finally sit down at my laptop.  I have a follow up check up appointment with my orthopedic doctor tomorrow morning.  I'm doing pretty good in that department though.  It's my breathing that is my main problem.

I stopped using the big oxygen concentrator Friday and I'm only using my portable concentrator.  It's helping me because I don't get so dizzy now when I try to do something.  However, there is a big difference in my breathing in the past month and a half.  I now need to use the oxygen all day and all night.  Before that, I had hours of time when I did not have to use it.

On a bright note, I woke up this morning, again.  And that's a huge plus!  So, even if it rains, it will be a good day.  You know, some time ago, I heard Willie Nelson sing a song on the radio.  It was called "I Woke Up Still Not Dead Again Today."  I do believe he wrote the song to describe his hectic life.  It just goes to show that there are a lot of us oldies who are very happy to see every new morning

I do have some good news.  Daughter Audrey recently got a new sewing machine.  It looks awesome, Audrey.  I wish you lots of wonderful sewing with it.  Here's a photo of her new machine.

I borrowed this image from the web because it's a great way to help our bees and butterflies.

I've been watching SHOP LC on TV all morning, and some of the prices are unbelievable.  They are in the midst of their Summer Vault Clearance.  I'm like a kid in a candy store.  Some of the items they are showing are simply gorgeous!  I've been good though.  I only bought a package of silver cleaning cloths for $8.

Before I leave here to do some blog reading, I have something to share.  I borrowed this from the web because it really gives you something to think about.

On that note, I'll take my leave.  I have to stock my refrigerator with more bottles of spring water.  There's only one left in there.   I drink a lot of water, and I only give Pogo spring water.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Rain, Rain, We're Glad To See You

July 12, 2019

Good morning.  Well, the rain finally got here.  It poured during the wee hours, and now it's just a very light rain.  All the big puddles are back, so I guess all the birds and critters will be happy and  taking baths today.  According to my phone app, temps should get up into the mid eighties and we should have rain all day.

DIL Janet caught a cold and did not want to pass it along to me, so she did not come by last evening.  I had promised myself that turkey sub sandwich for supper, so I called and ordered it.  Oh my, it was simply delicious!  I got a large one, and only ate half of it.  Later, I had the other half for my evening snack.  Yum!

I have no plans for today.  First, I do have some dishes to wash.  Then maybe I'll put in a load of laundry to wash.  I have junk mail to go through or maybe I'll crochet for a while.  That's about it for my plans today.

Oh goody!  It's time for the Match Game to come on.  These are re-runs of the original program and I really enjoy watching them.  It's a fun program, and it is clean!  I used to enjoy watching Family Feud, but since Steve Harvey started hosting it, it is no longer a family program.

It is now more geared to questions that have to be answered with descriptive names for sex and body parts.  Some of the contestants are teenagers still in school, or even church pastors.  The questions are very inappropriate, and not funny or enjoyable at all.  Okay, so I'm an old poop.  Actually, I'm not, but I do find this particular program offensive.

Today I want to share a recipe that I found on Facebook.  I forget who posted it, but it sounds so delicious, and it looks easy to make.  Sorry, the top three ingredients are repeated.  My bad.

If you decide to make it, let me know how it comes out and if you enjoyed it.  I tried another similar recipe which I did not enjoy, but this one sounds pretty good.

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.
