Good morning. Tis gray and wet outside, with a lovely breeze. The temperature is 69F degrees, and will reach the early seventies later this afternoon. The coolness is a nice change from all the heat we've had.
Late yesterday afternoon, we had thunder and lightning and heavy rain. I took photos of my phone's weather app. This is what the next few days look like at the moment. Hmmm, seems we are in for a bit of the wet stuff.
My hubby and my brother shared the same birthday. They both loved lobster. So every year on their birthday, I would cook them a big lobster dinner complete with corn on the cob, potato salad, garden salad, melted butter, nice cold beer and anything else they wanted. Happy Birthday guys. I miss you.
Yesterday was a good day for me, so Pogo and I went shopping at Ocean State Job Lot after we dropped Deanne off at her work. On the way home, we stopped by the bank and then on to McDonalds for some take out supper. Yup, it was a very good day.
I think maybe I'd like to plant more Hosta in my yard. I have some, and it is so pretty now.
Usually the flower stems stand up quite tall, but these last two heavy downpours of rain have knocked a lot of the plants down. Still, my Hostas are very pretty.
I have good news to share. My tomato plant has finally sprouted a few little yellow flowers. Woo Hoo! I guess there's still a chance that I might grow a tomato or two! Sad, sad, sad. What sort of nut case gets all excited over a garden producing one tomato? I guess just special folks like me. I get excited watching little birds splashing and bathing in a puddle, and growing even just one tomato gives me enough hope to plant another tomato plant next year. Yup, sad!
BUT, my little dog loves me just the way I am. And that's good. More than good. But then all you folks with fur babies of your own know exactly how I feel. I wouldn't trade my little guy for anything. My guardian angels were watching out for me the day Pogo came to live with me. He's been such a joy to me.
Okay, enough of my babbling. I'm off to do a bit of blog reading, and I want to call Deanne to see if she wants to do any grocery shopping or other errands. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

You are cool next to us. We are predicted to have a high on Saturday of 100* and the heat index will be around 120*. Today we are a balmy 98*. It is so hot! My air conditioner is working overtime for sure. I know you must miss your hubby and brother. There are so many people in my family that I miss. Hooray on you getting a tomato! I get excited about those things too.
Just hang in there, you will most likely get tomatoes late which is okay. I doesn't think I will get any okra this year. It's just not a growing season this year. I got lots of tomatoes but they were very small. Let's hope yours get big. When you have things growing it gets you motivated and happy. When the worms start eating the veggies, it make me want to give up on planting. These weeds is growing better than the veggies did for me and they make me want to give up gardening. (lol)
Yes, you have a lovely little fur baby. I bet if he could talk, he would tell you how happy he is. They love on you and show you how much they care. I guess they say action speaks louder than words. When Queen smell food cooking in the kitchen, she lay at the pet gate pretending she need to go outside. I know she is lying but I let her out and sometimes, she potty. Not always though. (lol) I call her a pretty little liar. I did bbq again this morning and she and Milo hung out at the pet gate. I doesn't give them season meat, but boiled chicken without the skin along with their dry food. They are still fat. (Queen and Babs) Milo weigh 9 pounds now. He has come a long way from 5 pounds and half dead. He is so perky. I carried him to the vet on Monday to get his rabies shot and heart worm check and there he go, barking at the big dogs in the clinic. I tried to calm him down before I had to get up and fight for him. (lol) He is 9 pounds, but still a little tiny malteepoo. (l0l) You and Pogo have a great day.
