A Simply Gorgeous Day In Nw England

July 7, 2019

Good morning.  Tis a really gorgeous morning outside.  It's sunny and temps are in the high sixties.  I will get warmer in a few hours, but not as hot as the last few days.  We really need this break from the heat.  Yesterday morning, I opened my door just a few inches and the heat smacked me right  in the face.  It was difficult breathing all day and night.

My gutters were finished up Friday afternoon.  They really do look great.  I texted the company to let them know that these two young men did an awesome job, especially working so hard in this wicked heat.  I did offer the guys cold water, but they said that they had a supply of it on their truck.

Today I have some photos of the mulberries on my big tree out back.  The tree is really huge.

I haven't done much of anything these past couple days because the heat takes away any energy I might have.  I've mostly been focusing on breathing.  I'm so thankful for my air conditioner too.  Without it, I don't know what Pogo and I would have done to keep cool.

I just took a break and went out to the other side of the house with my camera to see if there were any new blooms.  I got some really nice photos which I'll have to crop and share here.   I think I pretty much have all my photos for the next calendar.  Pretty soon I will start working on my next Christmas card.  Who knows, maybe this year I'll be early with everything.

Soon now Pogo and I are going out on the porch to enjoy the cool breezes.  I have a lot of blog reading to catch up on so I can do that out there.  On that happy note, I'll  take my leave.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Good Morning. Those mulberries are good to eat. If I find a tree that I trust I will eat them but the last tree was next door to me when I lived in 5th ward in the City of Houston for that short period when I was preparing to buy my home. Nooooooo, I didn't even taste one of those because those people were so filthy it probably carried on to the tree. (lol) I would only look at them. I grew up eating wild berries including black berries and now they are selling the black berries in the grocery stores. We use to go down the road and pick buckets of blackberries and plums. We had muscadines, wild grapes and pa pas. Hmmmmm what a great childhood.

I know you are glad they got your gutters completed. Now you can work on another project. Believe me, there will be one. It never end when you are a homeowner. One thing is great that you don't have to replant all of your pretty flowers over each year. I might buy a few annuals but I will spend and extra dollar to get the perennials and I am so glad I did. My yard doesn't look so great in the winter time but when Spring arrive, it will return. I've been sharing with my neighbors. I hope you and Pogo have a great Sunday.

I really hope that you had a very enjoyable time on the front porch. It sounds so wonderful to hear of cool breezes and high 60's. I am really ready for some cool temps. Thursday we are supposed to get rain and cool down a little, Not sure just yet when they say "Cool down a little" lol...

Your Mulberry tree is just beautiful and the berries are just luscious. I think that you are going to have a lot of happy birds. Do squirrels like them too?

Give Pogo my love and cuddles and tell him that he is such an awesome little guy. I know that he is enjoying the cool weather too.

I am off to say a few words on my blog and then I am off to bed. Talk to you tomorrow... Hugs my sweet friend... Beth xxxx
