New Plants

April 29. 2022

Good morning.  Today will be sunny with temps in the high fifties.  Most of next week will have temps in the sixties.  Definitely promising!

Twiggy has grown a quarter of an inch.  I imagine once I plant it outside in a pot it will grow a lot more.  Here's a photo of another new plant that I bought when we were shopping.

I also bought a butterfly bush plant that will have to be planted in a pot soon.  Maybe this weekend I'll get a chance to play with my plants.  I also got this planter full of beautiful pansies.

It's time to make a new yarn order.  I'll be making a new sweater pattern and I've decided on a light gray yarn.  I think.  I'm not positive yet.  This is the sweater.

It's almost time now for lunch, and I'm off to the kitchen.  So, till Monday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

New Plants

April 27, 2022

Good morning.  How quickly time is flying by.  In just a few days it will be another new month.

Yesterday a package arrived in the mail, and it contained a couple new plants that I had ordered.  One is the Butterfly Weed plant, and the other is a Hummingbird Mint plant.  The Hummingbird Mint plant is four inches tall, and I can't wait for it to get bigger.  (I've named it Twiggy.}

This plant blooms in different colors.  I'm not sure what color blooms my plant will have.  If I like the plant when it gets bigger, I'll need to buy more of them for the yard.

Every now and then, I look at Twiggy and I think it has grown a bit.  But, I measure it again and it's still only four inches tall.  I guess my mind is in a hurry to see this plant grow.

Recently I ordered a couple sweater crochet patterns, and yesterday one of them came in the mail.  Once the other pattern gets here I might decide to make one of them.  It's been quite a while since I've made a sweater.  Actually, it's been since my kids were growing up.  I used to knit the girls skirt and sweater sets.

Now it's time for me to make a hot up of coffee and enjoy a bit of blog reading.  So, till Friday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

New Plants And A Pink Flamingo

April 25, 2022

Good morning.  Today will be sunny with temps to sixty degrees.  Awesome!  It's great weather for my new plants.

Yesterday, Deanne and I went shopping.  Afterwards we went to the Home Depot Plant Center and bought some plants.  And new wind chimes too.  Mine is a pink flamingo.

Of course, we each got a new tomato plant.  We picked ones that had a good start at growing.  I hope to have tomatoes this year.  (what else is new?)

Today I'll take photos of all the new flowers.  You just cannot go into a garden center and not come out with some new flower plants.  My porch will be looking really pretty this summer.

In another couple weeks it will be "sitting out" time.  I can't wait because I really do enjoy sitting out there.  I may even take a little tv out there so I can watch my favorite programs while I crochet.

Now I want to enjoy a bit of blog reading.  So, till Wednesday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Happy Birthday, Queen Elizabeth

April 22, 2022

Good morning.  Tis a lovely sunny day, though I shall stay in and hopefully crochet.  Tomorrow I'll go shopping.

Today I'll try to put two or three rows on each of the afghans.  I also have a sweater pattern that I might start as soon as I've decided on a color.

Pretty soon, I'm going to have to make some blog books.  I've been neglecting doing this these past couple years.  It's time to get back to a lot of things that have changed or just been dropped.  It's amazing just how many lives have been totally changed by a "flu."

Queen Elizabeth just celebrated her 96th birthday.  I found this adorable photo of the Queen when she was two years old and just had to share.  What a cutie!  It must be something to look at our child's photo and not realize that they will grow up to be a Queen, or maybe President.

My junk mail box is filling up again so I guess I'd best go through a batch of it today.  I just remove my name and address from things.  However, it does take some time.

Now it's time to enjoy reading some of your blogs.  So, till Monday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

A Beautiful Sunny Day

April 20, 2022

Good morning.  Tis sunny today, and temps should be in the upper fifties.  The weather map says it will be like this all week.  "Sitting out" weather is coming!

I haven't been in the mood for crocheting lately.  I did find a new project to work on but it didn't match the yarn that I had picked out for it.  I guess I'll have to make another yarn order.

Mostly, I just watched TV these past couple of days.  I have become very good at spending all day doing nothing.

In my younger days, I was busy all day long, every day.  I find it amazing at how much things have changed.  I need to start getting out more, drive my car, etc.  Sadly, I don't have the energy to do much of anything anymore.  I don't know if it is age or the "do nothings" of the past two years.  I guess I need to work on this.

Today is Law & Order on TV.  These are all reruns, but they seem new again.  Plus, lots of times I doze off while I'm watching TV.  So I get lots of little naps.  My TV time has been good for me.

I need to make a new grocery order to be delivered by the end of the week.  So I think I'll work on that today.  It's time to re-stock my frozen items.

Now it's time to enjoy a bit of blog reading.  So, till Friday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Awesome Chickens!

April 18, 2022

Good morning.  The sun is shining and temps today will be in the mid fifties.  Spring has sprung!  The days are getting warmer.  Pretty soon it will be "sitting out" warm.  Yes!

Did the Easter Bunny bring everyone lots of colored eggs?  Kids everywhere were having a wonderful time hunting for eggs yesterday.   How about it.  Did any of you "bigger" kids hunt for eggs too?

My grandson Kevin came by and brought me a box full of snacks and dinner.  (Deanne cooked)

After Kevin left, you know I dove into that box of goodies.  I'm just a big kid too!  Later I had me a nap, then worked on one of the afghans for a bit.  Most of the day was a "watch TV" day.

I've decided that these afghans may take another couple of months to finish.  I only do one or two rows and I'm looking to work on something else.  I have a couple ideas, but I'm not sure which new project I'll pick.  I need to look around a bit more.

A new T-shirt that I ordered for myself arrived, and I love it!  I think the chickens are awesome!

I'm working on a shopping list for next weekend.  Aside from a few things for the porch, I want to pick up some flowers.  Petunias, for sure.  Whatever else I'm not sure.  I'll have to see what's available.

Now I'm going to look through my yarn catalogue again to see if maybe I missed a pattern that I might like to try.  So, till Wednesday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Happy Easter

April 15, 2022

Good morning.  The sun is shining and temps today will be in the sixties.  Except for some rain Saturday night, it's supposed to be a nice weekend.   This should make the Easter Bunny very happy.

It doesn't seem possible but it's already Easter time.  I hope everybody gets lots of Easter eggs.  This is the first year that I did not make a batch of eggs for the tenants.  I don't know if I feel guilty or not.

Well, I did finally finish the crib blanket.  I have no choice now but to work on the afghans.  Maybe I can finish them by the end of next month.  Hmmm, we'll see.

Here's an interesting article I found on the web.  I never thought of it but it is a great idea for the birds.

We have to put out extra food for the birds now because the wild turkeys are coming around again for a meal.  There's only three of them, and I do enjoy seeing them every day.

Recently I ordered new T-shirts.  This one is for Deanne because she has two kitties.  What an awesome job it must be to design such cute shirts.

You know you have to be careful about ordering from anyone on Facebook.  I always take a photo of my order for just in case.  Today I checked on an order not received and I had to send copies of my order because they said they didn't remember it.  Amazing.  They have no problem taking your money.  It's the order they can't seem to grasp.

Enough grumbling.  It's time to make some breakfast.  So, till Monday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous Easter Sunday.

Hugs, Edna B.

Easter Is Coming

April 13, 2022

Good morning.  Tis sunny today with temps in the sixties.  Awesome!  Today is a "sit out on the porch for a while" day.

This is "yard work" weather.  If you're thinking of mowing your lawn, please keep in mind that the dandelions are food for our bees.  Don't mow them down.

Monday afternoon, the oxygen company brought me a new concentrator.  The guy that came by was hoping to just try to fix the concentrator that I had but I said no.  I wanted a different one.  Eventually, he left me a new machine.

Next week Deanne and I are going shopping.  Today I'm starting a list of things that I want to look for.  Obviously, the first thing on my list is a new rug for the porch.  I also need to buy a new batch of puzzle books.  I got a lot of them for Christmas but I'm almost through with all of them.

Today, I will finish the crib blanket.  There are only four more rows to go.  After that, it's afghan time.  I think I'll wait to get these to the "three quarters done" time before starting any new projects.   Whatever my next project is, it won't have any blue or green on it.

Do you realize that Easter is this coming weekend?  How quickly it came this year!  I haven't decided yet whether or not I'll make colored eggs for the tenants this year.  Hmm, I'll have to give it some thought.

Now I'm off to enjoy a bit of blog reading.  So, till Friday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Rainbows

April 11, 2022

Good morning.  It's early and the sun is shining so I guess it's going to be a nice day.  Temps today will be in the mid fifties.  Awesome!

Today I need to call the oxygen company and have them change my concentrator.  It keeps whistling a really loud whistling noise, and it drives me crazy.   I did look it up online, but there wasn't really much help there.  So far, the only way to stop the noise is to shut the machine off and turn it back on.

Yesterday, Deanne sent me this photo of the huge rainbow she saw on the way home from their outing. Hmm, I wonder how come we didn't have one here.  (Deanne and Eddie went on a Brew Tour)

I order a lot of things from Amazon.  Everything comes right away and the shipping is free.  You can't beat that!  But I had to laugh when I found this cute poster.

Little by little, I'm trying to get back to my crocheting.  I put a few more rows on the crib blanket.  I think there are only six more rows to go to be finished.  Maybe I can get it done today.

Now that Spring temps are here, it's time to clean off my porch and put a new rug down.  I'm going to enjoy sitting out there.  Who knows, I may even have to set up a small TV out there so I can watch my programs while I'm out there.

Have you ever seen Rainbow Tomatoes?  I have NOT!  I didn't even know these existed.  They sure are pretty!  I may have to buy a plant just to see if I can grow one.

I'm off now.  It's time for Perry Mason.  So, till Wednesday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Awesome Blossoms!

April 8, 2022

Good afternoon. I'm late posting today because I had a doctor appointment this morning.  (Heart doctor) Then I had to call the insurance company to straighten out a problem that has come up with it.  Gadzooks, it's always something!

My appointment went well.  My doctor is easy to talk with, actually quite fun and pleasant.  Having doctors that are pleasant to talk with makes it easy to look forward to keeping my appointments.

What's new?  My TV!  It was delivered Wednesday afternoon.  Deanne and Eddie  (actually mostly Deanne) got it set up.  It's three inches bigger than my last set.  I really like it.

For those of you who follow my friend Beth's blog (http://bethreed78753.blogspot.com),  she's been in the hospital recently and she's home now.  She's had quite a few medical issues lately, and I hope they are all behind her now.

A lot of my plants are coming up now.  They will be green for a while, but I do have a few daffodil blossoms.  It feels really nice to be able to look out and see these beautiful blooms.

The third great granddaughter (Serena Melanie) who was due to be born recently was born on April 2.  That's all the information that I have as the parents don't wish to share anymore.  It is what it is.

Meanwhile, the crib blanket I'm crocheting is two thirds done.  Only twenty more rows to go.  It's time to get serious about working on the afghans.  I haven't been in the mood to work on them but this won't get them done.  I think it's because all the colors are in the same family - blues and greens.

I'm starting to get hungry so maybe it's time to think about what's for supper.  I know what I'd really like to have, but it most likely won't be that.  (not on my diet)  Hmmm, I'll have to think about it for a bit.

So, till Monday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

New TV Coming

April 6, 2022

Good morning.  Tis another gray, wet day.  Temps will be in the mid forties with light rain on and off all day.  I was hoping for a sunny day because my new TV is coming this afternoon.

I have had a TV to watch.  Deanne and Eddie hooked me up to one of their TV's so I wouldn't miss my programs.  They will be by later to hook up my new TV.  Unless, of course, our schedules change, and then we'll get it done as soon as we can.

Yesterday, I had a batch of coins to roll.  Have you ever wondered why there is no paper roll for half dollars?  I looked it up on Google, and I guess they do have rolls.  I just don't know where to get them.  I read a short article about where to find them, but the wording just confused me and never did tell me where they might be.

Look at this picture of a beautiful crystal piece that I found in one of my magazines.  I love Cardinals.  I think they are really beautiful.  And, no, I did not buy it.

And I found another Tee shirt that fits me to a tee.   Yup, yarn IS super delightful!

Wednesday is a good TV day for me.  It's Law & Order from 10.00 am to three or four pm, then Blue Bloods till three a.m.  Can you tell that I like crime stories?

The box that I've been throwing all the junk mail into is overflowing so I guess I need to start going through it all now and get rid of it.  Maybe I'll start tomorrow, and I can watch my new TV while I'm doing it.

Now it's time to go out and get the mail.  Then I'll make a hot cup of coffee to enjoy while I'm doing a bit of blog reading.  So, till Friday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

My TV Is Croaking

April 4, 2022

Good morning.  Tis gray and wet today.  I was hoping it would be a sunny day because I have to go out to a doctor appointment.  Alas, I'll have to settle for the wet, gray day.

Today is not such a good day here.  My television stopped working near midnight last night.  When I turn it on, the picture bounces up and down and then it shuts off.  I'm guessing it is trying to tell me that it's time for a new set.  This set is around thirteen years old.

I went online looking at new TVs and I'm surprised at how inexpensive they are.  Mine is a 40" set, and WalMart had several 40" sets for under $300.  I guess this is a good time to buy a new set.

Guess what?  It looks like the sun is going to be shining.  Awesome!

Deanne found this adorable cartoon on the web.  I love it.  It suits me to a tee!

If I don't get a new TV set up real soon, I'll definitely be driving everyone around me crazy.

Over the weekend, I put a few more rows on the crib blanket.  It's now one third done.  I also added a few rows to one of the afghans.  These are going to keep me busy for a while because I only do a couple rows a day now.

I ordered a new fairy for my porch railing.  She'll go alongside the one that is already there.  (inside the screened in part of the porch)  I like looking at pretty things.

Now I think I'll enjoy a bit of blog reading while I have my coffee.  Soon it will be ready to leave for my appointment.  So, till Wednesday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

April Fools Day

April 1, 2022

Good morning.  Happy April Fools Day!  Gosh, do you realize that one quarter of the year has already gone by?  Before you know it, it will be August and we won't know where the year went.

The last batch of yarn that I had ordered came yesterday.  I've already used one of the colors to start a new crib blanket.  The color is called "Bluebird."

I'll keep doing a row or two on the afghans every other day or so.  I'd like to see them finished by the end of Spring.

Lately there's a new product being advertised on TV.  It's called "Winky Lux" and it's a skin refreshener, I think.  Actually, I looked it up on the web and found a whole line of Winky Lux beauty products.  It's the name that caught my eye.  I wonder what Winky Lux means.  And, it's a bit pricey.

I have never been one to wear much makeup.  Mostly just lipstick.  If at all.  I don't really know why, it's just something that never interested me.   I was always more interested in making things with my hands than trying to be glamorous.

Now I'm thinking I'm wanting a snack, so it's off to the kitchen I go.  So, till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.
