Bits Of This And That

 August 30, 2022

Good morning.  Today should be sunny with temps in the eighties.  Early this afternoon, a lady from the town will be by to ask me lots of questions.  This is because of the free lunches.  I'm only going to answer so many of her questions.  They don't need to know my history to drop off a free meal.

I thought I would share a photo of my flowers today.  They are loving the warm temps and all the sunshine.  These are so pretty.  I think they are all moss roses.

Perry Mason is on TV now and I'm trying to watch his program and type my blog post at the same time.  Perry Mason is ending, so I'll finish up my blog post and watch Matlock.  (coming on next)

I need to get back to my crocheting soon.  These two afghans are supposed to be Christmas gifts.  I think I'll work on one of them later this afternoon after our "lady guest" has come and gone.

My meal for the day has just arrived.  It looks like chicken, vegetable salad, potato salad, fruit and bread and butter.  And milk.  (Actually, it looks like this most days.)

I learned a new word this week.  Orchardist.  Definition:  an owner or supervisor of orchards.  I probably won't use this new word very often, but I'm glad to know it.

Now it's time to put the laptop away and watch my TV programs.  So, till next post, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous week.

Hugs, Edna B.

Edna, I hope your food is good. I am so ready to become a vegetarian..because chicken parts are shaped like chicken but have that look and texture of having been all the chicken ground and formed ..so gross. I worked with a fellow who would try new words he learned out on us , such good times laughing at the way he used them in a sentence. Blessings, stay safe. xoxo, Susie

Your flowers look happy.
Oh, sometimes things coming from the council/town, like your meals, are great but they always have to ask so many questions. I think there are only a few needed perhaps. But okay, may be it will be a nicer visit than tyou think, who knows?
We had some of our own tomatoes, enough to make a miced salad for this evening dinner, and they tasted pretty good. Now on to the next "batch".
We're busy with preparation for the furniture delivery, it takes more than one should think but we'll get there.
Enjoy your tv, have a wonderful day.
Hug
Kyra

I love the moss roses. I think we used to have a relative of those growing wild in Florida. It was a tiny pink thing, not nearly as dramatic as yours.

I will probably never be an orchardist!

Your flowers are so pretty! I have never seen moss roses before.
I'm glad you are getting meals. I know they have to ask questions to make sure the right people are getting the meals, but they certainly don't need your entire biography.
My husband loves Perry Mason and watches it every day. He likes the older ones best.
Hope you have a great evening. Enjoy!

It is 90 here, way too hot for this gal! Heading to a Mexican spot for our grandson Blake's third birthday. A bittersweet day as my niece Carrie lost her husband John last night. A really sad passing. She and her kids, most of them, grown, are doing the best they can. Their oldest girl Abby has special needs but every much like her dad, a very hard working young lady. A sad time for our phamily.
Love the moss roses. Very pretty. It is what I admire most about the summer weather. Blooms everywhere or fresh garden veggies.
I am watching Perry Mason while I write. I tape them for Avery although we have all the movies and the series on DVD. hahaha
I am glad you are getting meals. That is a good thing. Jeremy delivered meals on wheels when he was in high school. He learned a great appreciation for others.
Take care. I am here to catch up a bit.

Hi Edna, Moss roses are some of my favorite flowers. They remind me of my grandma who loved them so much. It would be nice if they could give you a little more variety in your lunches. Still, it's nice not to have to make it yourself:) I haven't watched daytime tv for quite awhile but maybe I'll try and find Perry Mason or Matlock on tv today.

I agree with you, Edna, in that you do not have to answer all questions about your history, but just those pertaining to the food delivery. Thanks for the info about the moss roses, which are very colorful. Learning a new word is something Intry to do on a regular basis, especially as the Kindle has a built in dictionary. The problem is in remembering it later😀

Edna,
Moss roses are one of my favorites, but then again, they are all so beautiful that they are my favorites. Moss roses have a very special soft spot in my heart.

I will try and call this week. My entire month of September is going to be busy. I love you. xxx

I have been out of touch for a while with so much going on in my life and I was lost because of my illness but I'm stronger and I am here to tell you about a natural remedy that is guaranteed to make you wonder why your doctor didn't tell you about it.
