Some Of My Best Friends Are Books

October 9, 2020

Good morning.  Tis sunny and 48F degrees.  Yup, a bit nippy!  Temps today just may climb to 60F degrees later this afternoon.

I finally finished reading my new book "Uprising" by Diamond and Silk.  With all the turmoil going on in our country nowadays, this book is a must read.  Which of us, if any, are the racists?  Who, and what, is behind all the violent chaos around the country?  What do the different political parties want for us?  Or from us?  Should we care?  Why?

Diamond and Silk are two very smart women, and they hold back no punches.  They say it like it is whether we like it or not.  They are refreshing to listen to.  They have been dealt some nasty low  blows by the media, but they have overcome them.  They have their own website and vlog, and sincerely want to educate everyone to take control of their own lives and be the best that they can be.

You can still get the book for $9.95 plus free shipping by using the code AMAC9 at the checkout.  WWW.AMACBOOK.COM.  (that's a savings of $25.94 plus free shipping)  Enjoy it!

I also finished reading my other new book, "The Boy Who Fell Off The Mayflower."  You know, it's a children's book, but I really enjoyed it.  This is a photo of the cover, and of the page showing the boy, John Howland, in the water - swimming to grasp the rope attached to the ship so that he might be saved.

The book is based on historical facts, and the artwork is awesome.  To think that my ancestors were on this same ship with young John Howland.  Wow!  I'm glad that I read this book.  If interested, you can find it on Amazon for $9.95.

The mailman has just left mail on the porch for me and I'm going outside to get it.  So, till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh I always loved to read. At the moment a bit more difficult with the eyes. But it will come back, I hope and books are always good way of spending time.

I do believe in general most people around the world are no racist and can live together very well. But there are always groups that most of the time are rather small, but seem to overrule the good willing people with their ridiculous ideas. And they are dangerous and should be stopped by us, the "normal"thinking people.

Must have been fun reading that youth book about the Mayflower.
The more because you have ancester who came in America with that ship.

Now time to start the weekend, cosy and warm on the couch, watching tv.

Have a lovely day and also stay safe!
Hugs
Kyra

I used to read a lot, but gave it up as my eyes are not too good.

Hi Miss Edna,
I think that I will order this book or maybe both of them. I love children's books as I started reading to my babies while they were still wrapped up inside my womb. I also played music and Laurie, my most active baby, she would kick and squirm like she was dancing in there and she could have been for all I know. I had this really awesome mini radio I don't think that it was a walk man but similar. I could just lay it on my tummy and away we went with the beat of the music.
After we talked on the phone I went to lay down but a million things kept popping into my head to do and so I got up and decided to tackle my stack of mail that has been gathering dust and I actually made some room on my bookshelf and now I have a nice and tidy shelf of things that I use daily. I also made some space for my collection of books and now I am tired and I think that I am going to take a nap.
It will be a short nap because I will have to take a shower and get ready to go and see the doctor tonight. Hugs to you and my sweet Pogo... xxxoooxoxoxoxo! Have a awesome day you two.xxx

OH the books both sound wonderful. Diamond and Silk are two smart and sassy ladies. I sure love them and their love of the USA. MY friend in Kansas had their Trump 2020 stolen from their property. Someone told her you can add a security device. They reported it and they are buying a bigger flag. I see all the different flags. I could care less about stealing something. Get a life! We have received some mail regarding politics that were absolutely vile! I just shred that garbage. Everyone can have an opinion but vile hatred should be a crime.
I am going to buy the book by Diamond and Silk. Those gals have real class and style too.
I was grateful Pence stood up for the right to life. Everyone should look toward heaven not earth. This world will not save us.
I found a copy of the Golden Bok Seven Little Postmen. It was written in 1952 and the date on this one was 1975. the year Noelle was born. I love Golden Books and have quite a collection.
Getting a bit of rest as Jeremy and Brittany are having dinner with her folks (her mom had a birthday) and go to the casinos so we get the two boys. My Brody loves coming over. If they get here before grandpa gets home from work he sits on the porch and waits for him. He is a real sweetheart Blake is just busy learning the advantages of walking!
Hoping your weekend is wonderful. HUGS and LOVE

When I worked with young people I often read children's books with them and ended up enjoying them myself.

I'm glad you enjoyed your books. My relatives were on the Mayflower too! (Have we talked about this already?) I'm descended from the White family, at least according to my grandfather and his genealogical research.
