Teeny Tiny Dragons?

July 27, 2021

Good morning.  It looks quite lovely outside right now, but it is going to be another hot hot day.  My phone app says we may get a little rain sometime tonight.  Maybe.  Temps should be getting a bit cooler starting tomorrow.

I've been reading up on the new virus surges and whether we should have vaccine mandates in work places, etc.  It sounds like quite a political snaggle.  It shouldn't be, but it will be.  There are quite a lot of heated arguments for the rights of many individuals.  On the other hand, what about the rights of the rest of the individuals?

I think an employer should have the right to mandate vaccines for all their employees.  This would be to benefit the health of all the employees and their families.  On the  other hand, the employees do have the right to work somewhere else that does not mandate vaccines if they wish.

Of course, this is just my opinion.  We are all entitles to this.  Normally I don't get into political issues, but when it affects me, then I guess I can speak up.  I enjoy being able to go out shopping, or to a restaurant, or anywhere else where there are other folks and not have to worry about getting sick.  I think we all should have this right.

Enough said.  Here's another photo of one of my pretty pink lilies.  Nature is pretty awesome, isn't she?

Speaking of Nature, there is still a lot of it that is new to us.  Like this Dragon Mantis.  Have you ever heard of a Dragon Mantis?  I haven't.  Till now.  What an interesting little creature.  (Photo by IG: ennisanna fei.)  (I borrowed photo from web)

The Dragon Mantis measures about 1.6 inches and is found in the rainforests of Ecuador and Peru.  It has a lifespan of about one to six months depending on the species.  It eats insects, frogs, lizards, etc.   (information from Google)

Any thoughts on Windows 11?  I think it's too complicated for me to try on my laptop.  That is, if it will even work on my laptop.  I believe I will wait it out, and maybe in a few years I'll be ready for a brand new laptop that comes with the new version of Windows already installed.

That's my news for today.  Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna, Oh, how I so agree with you on your opinion of the Covid vaccine. That little dragon mantis is cute. It's too bad it has such a short life span isn't it?

I agree completely about the vaccine mandates. I think some employers not only have the right to require them but ought to do so to protect people -- schools, health care settings, etc. I don't understand why vaccines have become so political. They are a tried-and-proven scientific advancement that stands to benefit all of us. People who allege otherwise aren't basing their arguments on science.

I am for rights of individuals, but.... when public health gets into question like with Covid 19 it is another thing. We have the same discussion here too and I think that health of the inhabitants of a country is more important so there shuld be a possibility to just have all vaccinatated by a kind of law. It's my kind of view, I know a lot of people see it different.
It's a difficult subject.

Aren;t they lovely, those Dragon Matis? I knew them, but then we do watch quite a lot of nature documentaries, and we've seen some pretty weird animals there.

Oh help, is there already a Windows 11? Let them have it, I stick for now with the Windows 10, and whenever I will need a new laptop, it then probably will have already installed the newest Windows. So I am with you in this, LOL.

We are having every now and then a rainshower and then again a bit of sunshine, so between the rainshowers it was still pretty nice weather, but it will cool off later this week.

Time for some tv again and some knitting.
Have a wonderful day,
Hugs

I totally agree with you on the vaccine, too. People have a right to kill or harm themselves but I don't think they have a right to do the same to others...and in the name of freedom. I'll never understand how this became a political issue.

That is the coolest mantis I have ever seen! :)

We both got the vaccine and I think others should too but it is their choice, not mine. Some in my immediate family choose not to get it. Having lost my Sister in February to COVID, I sure don't want anyone else to lose their lives. It's certainly on the rise and some are getting it who have been vaccinated:( SO SAD. Enjoy your day dear friend and try to stay cool in this heat! HUGS!
