Happy Hanukkah

November 30, 2021

Good morning.  The sun is shining and the temperature is 33F degrees.  Brrr.  Looks like Winter is coming early.   To all my Jewish friends and family, I'd like to wish you a Happy Hanukkah.

Yesterday, Deanne came by and took my packages to the Post Office.  Woo Hoo!  I have one more box to get out in the next few days.  After that, everything else is local.  I can start addressing envelopes over the weekend.

Today I want to finish packing that last box, and then I still have one wrap that needs the pockets sewn on to it.  That should keep me busy most of the day.  Tonight, I can go back to working on the pink afghan.

I found a really interesting picture on the web and borrowed it to share.  Did any of you have one of these wonderful machines?  I used to do all my laundry by hand, leaning over the bathtub or a sink.  During my third pregnancy, hubby got me one of these awesome washing machines. It was such a blessing.

I also found an adorable tee shirt.

On that happy note, I'm off to watch some Law & Order.  And there's a pile of wrapping materials waiting for me.  So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

It was not nice weather here too. Lot of wind and rain.
Oh, how sweet of Deanne to take your boxes to the postoffice.
I cannot remember if my mother had such a washing machine, may be something like it but simpeler?
I just love that t-shirt. There are some t-shirts around with lots of humor.
Fantastic.
Have a wonderful day,
Hugs

My mom had a wringer washer. I do remember it well. Looked like it could crush your fingers! Kind of scared me as a kid. I think I must have been around 8 or 10 when she got a washing machine. And then she hung the clothes out on the clothesline outside still or all over lines strung in the basement during the winter or in bad weather for several years before she got an electric dryer. The things we take for granted now. :)

Sure do remember that washing machine, Edna. It was in the basement of my parent's home when I was growing up. I never used it myself, but my mother not only did all the laundry but also hung it in the basement or outdoors to dry. She didn't have a dryer until years later when we bought her one.

And did you dress up like that when you did your wash? :)
