A Beautiful Autumn Day

November 18, 2021

Good morning.  Today we'll be having sunshine and temps climbing into the mid sixties.  There's just a slight chance of rain.  A beautiful Autumn day.   Later today, temps will drop back down into Brrrr temps.

I put a few rows on the new afghan and started a new "to get" list.  (for my holiday shopping)  I'm in good shape with my shopping.  I think there's only a couple items left on my list to buy.  Then I can finish all the wrapping.

I've been watching Leave It To Beaver, and I just have to smile at the problems of these two boys.  It's all so down to earth.  The writers did a really great job when they wrote the scripts for this program.

Now that the cold temps are here, it's time to make a pot of corn chowder.  Two favorite meals that I remember from the 1940's are corn chowder and American chop suey.  Mmm, mmmm!  Enough talk of food.  It's making me hungry!

Deanne took a shortcut through the park a few days ago and took this photo for me.  It's such a beautiful place, especially now with the trees beginning to change colors.

There's really no news to write about today so I think I'll make a cup of coffee and enjoy some blog reading.  Hopefully, I'll have more to write about tomorrow.  So, till then, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I bet chop suey was considered pretty exotic back in the 1940s. Probably nothing like modern Chinese food! That's a beautiful picture of the park -- nothing like colorful autumn trees against a blue sky.

Aren;t we all thinking every now and then to some meals our mothers made, and just remember they were tasting sooo good(and some yak LOL).
Wonderful you are almost done for the shopping.
Lovely photo of the parc.
It was quiet here too, did a bit of housekeeping and laundry.
Have a fantastic day,
Hugs

The corn chowder sounds wonderful for these cool days ahead, Edna. I made uternut squash and carrot soup this week and minestrone will be in the crockpot on the weekend. The photo that Deanne sent was lovely and we also enjoyed the beautiful mid-60s weather with a day trip.
