Happy Hanukkah

November 30, 2021

Good morning.  The sun is shining and the temperature is 33F degrees.  Brrr.  Looks like Winter is coming early.   To all my Jewish friends and family, I'd like to wish you a Happy Hanukkah.

Yesterday, Deanne came by and took my packages to the Post Office.  Woo Hoo!  I have one more box to get out in the next few days.  After that, everything else is local.  I can start addressing envelopes over the weekend.

Today I want to finish packing that last box, and then I still have one wrap that needs the pockets sewn on to it.  That should keep me busy most of the day.  Tonight, I can go back to working on the pink afghan.

I found a really interesting picture on the web and borrowed it to share.  Did any of you have one of these wonderful machines?  I used to do all my laundry by hand, leaning over the bathtub or a sink.  During my third pregnancy, hubby got me one of these awesome washing machines. It was such a blessing.

I also found an adorable tee shirt.

On that happy note, I'm off to watch some Law & Order.  And there's a pile of wrapping materials waiting for me.  So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Super Beets Heart Chews

November 29, 2021

Good morning.  Tis another gray morning here in New England.  I'd like to thank everyone for your prayers for my great grandchildren.    I'll update when I can.

It's going to be an easy day today.  Yesterday was my busy day.  I have three boxes ready to go to the Post Office today, and a few other gifts wrapped.  I have one more box to get ready for mailing, and I'd like to have it go out in the next day or two.

Has anyone else tried the Super Beets Heart Chews?  If you have, what are your thoughts about them?  On my last visit to the doctor, my blood pressure reading was the lowest it's been in years.  I usually run high.  Is this because of the chewies?  I don't know, but I'll keep taking them.

Years ago, I had ordered a magazine (I don't remember which one) but it could not be sent because they had stopped printing it.  So, instead they have been sending me free copies of  "Esquire."  I send these over to one of my grandsons.  I did look through this latest issue and found a very interesting ad for mens' wear.

Any thoughts on these outfits?  Would the men in your family wear them?  I think my grandson Kevin might wear the suit on the left.  He's usually pretty trendy.  That's just my thought though.

I'd like to mention once more that the winner of the mystery project is Theresa.  (Theycallmeganky)  I have not heard from her yet so I'll wait one more day, till tomorrow afternoon.  Then I'll ask Deanne to pick a different winner.

I see the mailman coming with the mail so I'll leave now.  Till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Asking For Prayers

November 28, 2021

Good morning.  It's early and it's still gray outside.  The temperature is 33F degrees and we may get some rain.  A good day for staying indoors.

Today I'm asking for some prayers for two of my great grandchildren.  Jack has been having headaches and had to spend a day at the hospital this week.  He will have to see a neurologist in Boston later in December.  This is my handsome Jack with his sisters Alima and Lilah.

Baby Cerys has been diagnosed with hyperinsulinism.  Her body produces too much insulin which causes her blood sugar to drop.  Her condition is extremely rare and only two hospitals in the nation have specialty centers for it.  She will have to be transferred from Florida to the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.  This is our beautiful Cerys.

Yesterday, I went through all the comments left throughout this month and put a slip for each one into a paper bag.  Deanne came by and shook the bag really well.  Then she reached in and picked out one slip.  The winner of the mystery project is Theresa from  https://theycallmeganky.blogspot.com.

Theresa, could you send me your address so I can mail this to you?  Thank you.  My email addy is pogosma@gmail.com.

Today I'll be busy getting my mailer packages ready to go to the Post Office tomorrow.  I'm not as early as I'd like to be but I'm glad to be this far along.  Now I'm going to the kitchen and make myself a cup of coffee and some breakfast.

So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

A Day For TV

November 26, 2021

Good morning.  Is everyone still stuffed this morning from all that great food yesterday?  I saved my dessert from yesterday for my breakfast today.  Not the pie and ice cream.  The cranberry bread!  Yum!

Wednesday, I got a lot of my wrapping done.  I have a couple more things to wrap, then I can get a couple of my boxes out in the mail.  At this rate, I'll be able to get some envelopes addressed over the weekend too.  Today I'll do a bit more wrapping.   Then I'll treat myself to some crocheting.

Today there's a Law & Order marathon on TV.  You betcha I'll be watching.  I don't even remember a lot of these repeats so I really enjoy them.  My favorite program, Project Runway, wasn't on last night, so now I'll have to wait another week to watch it.

Did any of your favorite football teams have a game yesterday?  Our local team, the Patriots, doesn't play until Sunday.  Meanwhile, Pickles (one of Deanne's cats) is ready.  Is it game time yet?

Today it's wet and gray outdoors.  According to my phone, we will have gale warnings from 4 p.m today till 1 p.m. tomorrow.  It's a good day for staying indoors.  Now I want to finish my coffee before it becomes ice coffee.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY

November 25, 2021

Good morning.  Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.  Today everyone is gathering with family and friends.  It's a day of giving thanks for all that we have and for all the wonderful people in our lives.  I am very thankful to have my family and all of my blog friends in my life.

When Deanne comes by, either tomorrow or Saturday, she will pick a name out of the "commentors" bag and we'll have a winner for the mystery project.  After that, I will contact that person for an address so that I can mail the package to them.  The item, and the color of it, are for either gender.

I know everyone is busy today, so let me just post one image as a reminder of what foods we can, or can't, give to our doggies today.

Once again, I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving Day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Nice Surprises In The Mail

 November 23, 2021

Good morning.   The sun is shining and it is 32F degrees.  Nippy!  Nippy!  A good day to stay indoors and wrap, wrap, wrap.  I just realized that we are running out of this month of November.  If I want to get my packages in the mail I need to get serious about wrapping.

Yesterday, a seed catalogue that I had ordered months ago finally arrived.  Wowsie!  It's huge!  It's even bigger than a telephone book.  It's chock full of all sorts of information about the plants you can grow with their seeds.

I also got a big box full of yarn in the mail yesterday.  Woo Hoo!  I set it all aside for now because I need to finish what I'm working on before I start anything new.  The new yarns are like a gift because I used a gift certificate to buy it.  And I still have some money left to get a few more skeins.

Yesterday, I put a few more rows on the afghan.  I'm almost to the half way mark.  I need to put it up though for a little while and finish my wrapping.  This month has flown by so fast!  Thanksgiving is in two days.  And December is only a week away!  Yeesh!

I realize that time hasn't really speeded up.  But when we were younger, time seemed to take a lot longer to go by.  Now that I'm older, it just whizzes by.

Well, before today flies by me, I think I'll enjoy a bit of blog reading before I get started on this new day.  So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Happy Thanksgiving,

Hugs, Edna B.

Changes Coming

November 22, 2021

Good morning.   Tis damp and gray outside, a good day to be indoors.  Gosh, I slept late this morning.  I was up earlier and then lay my head back down for a minute.  Hmmm, quite a long minute!

I read an article on Google yesterday that said Social Security payments will be mailed out on a new schedule next year.  Depending on what day of the month you were born, it would be either the second, third or fourth Wednesday of the month.  Is this true?  Or did I read it wrong?

Here's something interesting I found on the web.  For folks who like to start seedling plants indoors, use ice cream cones.  Then just plant the whole thing in the ground when the plant is big enough.  (If you have mice, this may not work.)

The yarn that was supposed to arrive yesterday will be arriving today or tomorrow instead.  Either I read the email wrong, or it will take a bit longer to get here.  No problem.

A lot of the animal rescues and shelters are in need of money and food for the animals.  Instead of giving some folks gifts that they don't need, you send the money to the shelters instead.  Or maybe just add the shelters to your gift list.  They would surely appreciate any help you can offer.

I found this next tidbit on the web and just had to share it.  This is exactly how a lot of my days go.

Now I'm off to enjoy some blog reading.  So, till tomorrow,  Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

A Quiet Weekend

November 21, 2021

Good morning.  Tis gray outside today.  It looks like we may get some rain.  Temps are in the forties and may rise to mid fifties later today.

It's been quiet around here.  I've been working on the afghan and it's about a third done.  I figure a few rows a day and it should be done in a week or two.  Maybe.

I still have one pocket wrap that needs the pockets sewn on so maybe I'll do that today.  I got an email letting me know that the yarn that I had ordered recently will be arriving today.  Woo Hoo!  I guess I'll be busy next year working on afghans!

Sunday morning doesn't really offer much in the way of interesting TV programs.  Other than children's programs, there's nothing for adults until after ten a.m.  Even the craft programs aren't on this morning on the Create channel.  I guess I'll watch Curious George.

SIL Eddie drove through the park the other day and sent me this photo.  We are very blessed to have this beautiful park.

Deanne came by Friday and brought me these tree Peeps.  Oh my, are they ever tasty!  There really were tree Peeps in this little package.  No fat, no sodium, no cholesterol.  Yum!

Joe is outside this morning raking up some of the leaves.  It's a thankless job.  The first part of the yard that he raked is already filling up with more leaves.  Aye yi yi!

Daniel Tiger is on TV now, and the kids are learning how to share their toys with other kids.  I don't mind watching this program because it really is cute.  Pretty soon, Law & Order will be on.  Finally, a program for me!

That's about all that's happening here so I'll be on my way to enjoy some blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Lots Of Bargains On TV

November 19, 2021

Good morning.  I've been up for hours.  ShopLC TV has been keeping me company all these early morning hours.  It's been very interesting to see all the "pre black Friday specials" that they are presenting.  And no, I did not order anything.

It rained a bit during the night so all the leaves on the ground are stuck on pretty good now.  At least until they dry out.    It's almost pointless to rake them up because we have a lot of trees and the leaves keep on coming down.

I won't make any special plans for today because something tells me it's going to be a "nap" day.  I worked the overnight shift in the health field for so many years that I wonder if that's why I can't always sleep at night.  Hmmm, food for thought.

Here are two more words that we don't hear very often any more.  These were printed on a tee shirt.

To lollygag is to spend time aimlessly: idle.  To dawdle.  Dillydally means the same thing.

Right now, there are cartoons on the TV.  Heckle and Jeckle.  These talking magpies were created by Paul Terry and were first seen in 1946.  I looked them up on Google, and found quite a few Heckle and Jeckle cartoons.

Now I'm off to the kitchen to make some breakfast and a cup of coffee.  So, till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

A Beautiful Autumn Day

November 18, 2021

Good morning.  Today we'll be having sunshine and temps climbing into the mid sixties.  There's just a slight chance of rain.  A beautiful Autumn day.   Later today, temps will drop back down into Brrrr temps.

I put a few rows on the new afghan and started a new "to get" list.  (for my holiday shopping)  I'm in good shape with my shopping.  I think there's only a couple items left on my list to buy.  Then I can finish all the wrapping.

I've been watching Leave It To Beaver, and I just have to smile at the problems of these two boys.  It's all so down to earth.  The writers did a really great job when they wrote the scripts for this program.

Now that the cold temps are here, it's time to make a pot of corn chowder.  Two favorite meals that I remember from the 1940's are corn chowder and American chop suey.  Mmm, mmmm!  Enough talk of food.  It's making me hungry!

Deanne took a shortcut through the park a few days ago and took this photo for me.  It's such a beautiful place, especially now with the trees beginning to change colors.

There's really no news to write about today so I think I'll make a cup of coffee and enjoy some blog reading.  Hopefully, I'll have more to write about tomorrow.  So, till then, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Thirty Three Million Meals

November 16, 2021

Good morning.  Tis sunny and Brr this morning.   Only 38F degrees.  Isn't it amazing how quickly the temps drop from hot to cold?  Yet they take so very long going from cold to hot.

Last  evening I started a new afghan.  I'm using a soft pink colored yarn.  I have a pretty variegated yarn that matches perfectly.  I just have to decide on the third color.  It might be a toss up between a peach color or a lilac color.  Both of these colors and pink are in the variegated yarn.

I got to watch Shop LC TV while I crocheted.  On that program, every purchase helps to feed children in this country and in India.  Last night they passed the thirty three million meals mark.  Awesome!  So far, this is the only program I know that does this.  There may be others, but I'm not aware of them.

Today I'll try to wrap a few things.  Every little bit helps.  This might be the first year that I managed to shop, wrap, package and mail everything by the end of November.  Woo Hoo!

I borrowed this next image from the web.  There are a lot of folks alone out there.  And this time of year makes them especially lonely.  If you have a neighbor who lives alone, why not send them a "hello. how are you?" card.  Or just drop by to see if they need anything.  It takes so very little to make someone happy.

Now it' time to make a nice hot cup of coffee and enjoy some blog reading.  So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

These Awesome Gift Cards

November 15, 2021

Good morning.  Tis sunny and cool.  44F degrees cool.  We're supposed to get one warm day later in the week.  (Thursday)  then temps will drop again.  Nighttime temps are really dropping.  Tonight should be 32F degrees, and tomorrow night should be in the twenties.  Brrr!

Yesterday I shopped for new yarn.  Online, and taking my time.  I've been carrying a couple of gift cards in my wallet for quite a while now and I figured I'd try to use them up.  I did good.  I have less than ten dollars left for my next yarn shopping spree.

Today I think I'll start a new afghan.  As soon as I decide on all the colors, I'll post a photo of them.  I've decided on two colors, but I still need a third one.  This one will be for a girl.  I'll be making an afghan for a boy too.  I think I'll use blues and greens for that one.

Yesterday I thought I might wrap a few things, but I only wrapped a couple.  Maybe this week I'll do a bit more.  I'd like to get all my mailer packages out by next week.  We'll see.

A while ago, I mailed a letter to a friend.  This morning, the letter came back to me "undeliverable."   It said "No mail receptacle.  Unable to forward."  I don't understand this.  I've written before to this same friend, and those letters were delivered.  The address has not changed either, so I don't know what the problem is.

Folks, with these cold temperatures, please don't leave your animals out in the cold.  If it's too cold for you, it's too cold for them too!

Now I'm off to enjoy a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Awesome Technology!

November 14, 2021

Good morning.  Tis sunny.  That's all my phone app is saying.  It's not working.  I guess today's project will be to figure out why.  And then to figure out how to fix it.

Yesterday, Deanne and I went shopping.  We made it through two stores before I petered out. (Peter out = Dwindle away to nothing)   There are some books available about outdated phrases and words.  It has to be interesting reading so I think I'll order one.

I had my shopping list with me, and I did manage to find a few things that I was looking for. (and a few that I was not looking for.)  Alas, there are still some things left on my list "to buy."  Maybe Deanne can pick them up for me when she is out shopping.

Recently, I got to see a photo of my granddaughter Mia's recent ultrasound.  OMG!  This technology was not available when my babies and grandbabies were being carried.  Today you get to see what the baby's face looks like while it is still in the womb.  Simply amazing!

I've been neglecting my crochet projects these past few days, so maybe I'll do a bit of "catching up" today.  I also want to wrap a few things.  That should fill up my whole day.

Later this month, I have an appointment with my heart doctor.  I'm going to ask him about "The Watchman."  So far, I've only read good reports about it, but I have a lot of questions.

It's time now for me to head toward the kitchen and rustle up a cup of coffee and some breakfast.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

It's "A Bit" Day

November 12, 2021

Good morning.  Today is gray and looks like rain.  Do you suppose if it rains that it will wash all the leaves out of my driveway?  Probably not.  I suppose that comes under the heading of wishful thinking.

Today is going to be quiet.  I'll wrap a bit, crochet a bit and nap a bit.   The TV will be on in the background to keep me company.  In a couple hours I'll be able to enjoy the Law & Order marathon.   I'll be working on my "to buy" list because Deanne says we can go shopping this weekend.  I would like to be able to finish my Christmas shopping so that I can get it all wrapped and ready to leave my house.

Thanksgiving is only two weeks away, so one has to know that a brand new year is right around the corner.  Time is really flying by us.  Soon, I'll be looking for my new crochet project for the year 2022.  This is actually fun to do.  The hard part is deciding which project to pick.

Has anyone noticed that we don't hear the words "mucky muck" any more?  These used to be quite common words, but not so anymore.  What does it mean?

Aren't you glad you asked?  Whether you use the words or not, it's good to learn about the different words in our language.

Before I finish this post, let me share another image with you.  This one is so true.  Do something fun today.  Do something that makes you smile.  Even better, make someone else smile today.

So, till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

My "Mystery" Project

November 11, 2021

Good morning.  Tis sunny with temps in the mid to upper fifties.  There are fallen leaves everywhere.  My driveway is almost completely covered with golden yellow leaves.

Yesterday I got a spurt of energy and started some wrapping.  I wrapped and tagged, and got two boxes packed and addressed, ready for mailing.  Then I started a new "wrapped" pile.  After that, I ran out of my energy spurt.

In between my pocket wraps and baby blankets, I've been working on a "mystery" project.  It will be my Christmas giveaway to one of my followers.  Every day this month, I write down the names of everyone who leaves a comment on slips of paper and put them in a bag.  At the end of the month I'll ask Deanne to pick out a name from the bag, and I'll send the mystery project to that person.

I did not make special Christmas cards this year or a new calendar.  I may still make the calendar, I haven't decided yet.  Somehow, without Pogo it's just not the same.

While you are typing your post, Blogger underlines some of your words, making you think that maybe you did not spell them right.  In the last paragraph, Blogger underlined the word "calendar."  So now I have to go look it up on Google to make sure that the "ar" shouldn't be an "er."  I spelled the word correctly, so why does Blogger do that?

Last night, I brought the yarn to start a new afghan, but then I fell out of love with one of the colors.  Aye yi yi.  Now the problem is to pick out a new color to replace the one I don't like anymore.  I spent an hour deciding on a new color, then decided that I wasn't sure yet.  So I put it all away for the night.

Today I'll sew the pockets on to the teal blue wrap, and then I can wrap and tag it and put it in my "done" pile.  A little progress each day is good for the soul.

Here's a cute image that I borrowed from the web to share.  It's a great thought to start each new day with.

Now I'm off to enjoy a bit of blog reading.   So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

A Beautiful Autumn Day

November 9, 2021

Good morning.  Tis sunny with temps reaching the mid sixties today.  We need to enjoy today because tomorrow the temps start cooling down again.

Yesterday I did not get anything wrapped, but I did start to make a list of what I still have to shop for.  And I paid a batch of bills.  You know, as soon as I put the bills out for the mailman this morning, the new mail came bringing with it more bills.  It's amazing how we never run out of bills.

Today I'm not making any plans.  Although, I would like to cook a pot of pasta. You know, the day I run out of pasta and popsicles will be a very grim day for me.

Here's an image that I found on the web.  It sort of fits my daily situations just fine.  If I manage to accomplish just one thing a day, then I can be happy with that.

Why do we procrastinate?  I know I have to sew some pocket on to the wraps, yet I procrastinate.  I've done this with every wrap that I've made.  What is it about sewing the pockets on that bothers me?  Some things are strange and just can't be explained.  Do any of you have this problem too?

Let me finish this post with a beautiful image that I found on the web.

Now I'm off to enjoy some blog reading.  So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Meet Martha

November 8, 2021

Good morning.  Today is sunny and temps should get up into the mid fifties.  A little warmer than yesterday.  Sometime during the wee hours, I fell into a really good sleep and didn't wake up until the phone rang at 9 a.m.  I can't remember the last time I did that.  It sure felt good.

Today I'm going to give myself a little kick in the pants and wrap a few things.   After that, I'm going to reward myself with some crochet time.  Before the week is out, I'd like to start an afghan.  It will be my first project for next year.

For those of you who haven't yet seen grouchy Martha yet (from the Social Security ads), here's a picture that I took from the TV this morning.  She's really quite a hoot.

I have a new word for you.  Scumble.  I first heard it while watching a painting program on TV.  I had never heard this word before so of course I looked it up.

Scumble - verb - modify (a painting or color) by applying a very thin coat of opaque paint to give a softer of duller effect.

noun - a thin, opaque coat of paint or layer of shading applied to give a softer or duller effect.

Scumbling must be done over a dry paint layer, and you typically apply the paint unthinned, using a    dry brush.

Years ago, in my ceramic shop, we used this technique a lot.  We called it dry brushing.  It usually produced a very realistic effect.

Now I'm off to enjoy watching repeats of Law & Order.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

POOF!

November 7, 2021

Good morning.  Tis sunny and cold.  Temps may get up as high as fifty one degrees today.  Brrr!  It's time to start the countdown till Spring.  133 days.

I've been busy reading one of my new books.  This one is about the women who came over on the Mayflower.  You never hear about these brave women.  Yet, without them we'd all be reading a very different history.

There were twenty nine women who landed in Plymouth, Massachusetts.  Fifteen of them died during that first winter and spring.   Can you imagine what it would take to be one of these brave women?  The book itself is rather boring, (it's full of facts) but the story is very interesting.

I did not touch any of my crochet projects over the weekend, so I still have all those pockets to sew on to wraps.  Maybe I'll do that today.  We'll see.

I'd like to get out one day this week to finish up my Christmas shopping.  You just can't do it all on the internet.  Some things have to be seen in person. I'm one of those people who has to touch things, feel them in my hand.

You know, one thing that I've really missed is the Flea Market.  That was something that I really enjoyed when I was in Florida.  There were two really nice flea markets close by.  I haven't been to one in nearly two years.  Maybe next Spring?

There's a new commercial on TV that I'd like to share.  It's called POOPH.  You spray this in the air to get rid of nasty odors.  Why not spell it POOF?  Marketing and Advertising just aren't the same anymore.

Now I'm off to make a hot cup of coffee and enjoy a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

A Super Fun Day

November 5, 2021

Good morning.  It's a little after four a.m.  I'm awake, so I thought I'd post now and then maybe go back to sleep later.  I guess all the fun and excitement from yesterday made it difficult to sleep during the night.

We went to Olive Garden and I ordered my favorite, Fettuccini Alfredo.  Yum, Yum.  Of course, what's a birthday party without a birthday hat and noisemakers?  (Deanne, Moi, Kevin, Eddie)

And she brought a beautiful birthday cake.  It only had two candles.  They were for the 2 in 82.  Plus, it was easier for me to blow the candles out. We had a wonderful time.  Lots of fun and laughter.

When we got home, I was so tired that you would think I'd fall right to sleep.  Nope!  Sleep came in small patches all night long.  So, I scratched some lottery scratch tickets, read a bit from my new books, did a couple "search a word" puzzles and ate some chocolate.  (The chocolate came from Holland and was ever so yummy!  Thank you, Kyra.)

I want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes.  They came in emails, messages, comments, phone calls and in the regular mail.  You made my day awesome!

Today I have no special plans.  Hmmm, I seem to get more done when I don't plan on doing anything.  One thing I might do is to research other phone plans.  I'm thinking of getting rid of Verizon.  It's expensive and the prices just went up.

Now I'm going to watch Match Game for a while.  So, till Sunday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Happy Birthday Laura Jean

November 4, 2021

Good morning.  The sun is shining and the temperature is 39F degrees.  In a few hours, temps will go up to the high forties.  I treated myself to a late sleep-in this morning.  Mmmm.  Felt good!

Happy Birthday Laura Jean.  I hope your day is filled with love and happiness.  I love you, Sweetie.  My day also started with Birthday messages and gifts to open.  Woo Hoo!

Today I'm going to be lazy and just relax.  I'm going out to dinner later with Deanne and her family.  I will need to take a nap this afternoon.  Yesterday, while sitting here and chatting with Deanne, I dozed off.  How embarrassing!  I don't want to doze off during dinner today!

I borrowed this amusing cartoon from the web.  Snoozy is really me!  The older I get, the more fun it is to snooze.

I had ordered a roll-on pain reliever, and it came yesterday.  I spent at least thirty minutes trying to get the cap off.  The stuff works great, but now I'm afraid to put the cap back on.  I set the cap on it, I just don't turn it shut.

Tonight, my favorite TV program is on.  Project Runway.  As much as I love watching the designers' creativity, I would not wear most anything they design.  A lot of the designs look like unfinished projects.  (to me)   But I'll keep watching.  I enjoy seeing how the judges decide on the winner and the loser.

Now I'm going to bring the mail in and then enjoy a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Cranky Martha

November 2, 2021

Good morning.  Temps are really dropping fast now.  Today will make it to fifty degrees, and the overnight temps will drop into the upper thirties.  It feels like Winter is closing in fast, even though the calendar says it won't start for another seven weeks at least.

I'm curious to find out if Winter is going to fly by as quickly as the other seasons do.  It would be nice, but I don't think it will happen.  The cold weather seems to linger on forever.

Last night, I finished the scrunchie.  It looks okay, but I'm wondering if maybe I should have used a thinner yarn.  I may order a skein and give it a try.

Has anyone seen Cranky Martha on one of the Social Security ads?  I think she's a hoot.  She's so cranky!  I have to laugh at her.  "I called last year.  I won't call!"  "No, I won't!"  hahahahaha
God Bless her little cranky heart!

I'm getting tired now, so I think I'll do some blog reading while I can.  So, till Thursday, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs,. Edna B.

Hello November

November 1, 2021

Good morning.  Tis a new month already.  I'll dig out my calendar page and post it tomorrow.  So, did everyone have a great Halloween?  I did.  Some of my friends from our flight group stopped by for a hot cup of coffee and a bit of chit chat.  It was nice to see them again.

I spent part of the evening finishing my crochet projects.  I now have a bunch of pockets to sew on the wraps and everything will be done.  I did start one little new project.  A scrunchie.  I'll take a photo when it is done.

This morning I need to package up my daughter Laura Jean's birthday gift, and Deanne will take it to the Post Office this afternoon.  It's hard to believe that my baby is going to be fifty six years old.

Today I think I'll work on the scrunchie.  If I can, I'd like to make a few of them.  However, that's a "we'll see."  The best laid plans somehow seem to get befuddled.

Befuddle:   utterly confused or puzzled:  deeply perplexed, mixed up.

I love these old words that don't get used much anymore.  "Lollygag" is another quaint word.  I saw it a while ago in an article that I was reading.  What does it mean?

Lollygag:  to fool around and waste time:  dawdle.

I have an item that I want to share.  I've run across this myself so I thought you might be interested.

Now I'm going to get a fresh cup of hot coffee and enjoy some blog reading.   So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
