Brrr! Winter Temps Are Back

December 2, 2020

Good morning.  The cold temps are back.  It's only 37F degrees here.  At least the sun is shining.  My phone app says temps will be in the thirties and low forties for at least the next week.  I guess it's time to give in and admit that Winter is here.

Yesterday was a busy day.  My grandson Kevin came by to take me to the Post Office.  I wasn't up to going out, so he took all my cards, packages and boxes to the Post Office for me.  What a guy!  Whoever ends up making a life with Kevin will be one lucky girl.  He's going to make an awesome hubby and father.  Us grandmas can tell these things!

After the Post Office run, Kevin stayed for a while and we chatted about all sorts of things.  Before he left, he took my car to the service station and filled the gas tank for me.  He'll come back another day to take me to the Post Office with the rest of my packages.

The packing tape that I had ordered came yesterday.  I need it to tape up a couple more boxes.  The buttons that I had ordered also arrived yesterday.  Later today, I'll see about getting that pocket shawl finished up and take a photo.

Speaking of photos, now I can post a photo of the gray poncho that I had made for Audrey.  She sent me these photo last evening.

In this photo, she's showing her pretty Black Jade ring.

Last night, I made a scrubby dish cloth with the blue scrubby yarn.  This stuff is not user friendly, at least to my hands.  If I go slow with it though, it's not so bad.  Here's the blue one.  I just have to work the ends in.  I like these.  When I get to the orange yarn, I'll make one for myself.

I still have a small batch of Christmas cards to address and mail, so that will be a project to finish this week.  That and the rest of my wrapping and I'll be done.  Woo Hoo!

Now I need to put on a warm jacket and go out to get the mail.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

What a guy that Kevin. Doing all that stuff for you and also going to the tankstation.

Great photo of Audrey and her poncho. it suits her well, lovely color and beautiful made!
And the ring is wonderful too.

Getting colder here too slowly, but Jan and I will have to go to hospital tomorrow. Time for the warmer coats!

Oh, I must not forget to write some Christmas cards too and send them at time! Next week will be fine for that.

Have a lovely day,
Hugs
Kyra

Wow! I like that you crochet different things other than afghans. I think you do a beautiful job in selecting what color and types of yarn to use for each of your projects too.

Your grandson sounds like a super nice person and glad he stayed awhile to chat with you. Audrey’s poncho and ring looked very nice. I hope to finish my holiday cards by the weekend, which is very early for me to have it nearly done.

Kevin is a great grandson! It is nice to have someone care for us. The post office is and has been a zoo. Lots of people with mailing to do. The hubby uses UPS at work. He has an account and at the end of the month they charge it to his paycheck. We usually have good luck. UPS is easier to deal with since Hannah and Jake live in the country and the delivery guy knows them hahaha. amazon.com too. Oh that poncho is lovely. I hear you mentioned sage green and peach and beige. Oh those are lovely colors. I can envision anything in them. I bought an all weather jacket once in mint green. It was so cute but not as practical as the navy so when it went on sale I bought it too. HaHa! Take care and enjoy the new week!
