Shingles Progressing Nicely So Far (If that's possible)

November 7, 2018

Good morning.  The sun is shining, there is a bit of a breeze and temps are in the mid fifties, headed for sixty degrees.  Nice!  The sad part is that my beautiful trees with their golden yellow leaves are almost naked.  If every leaf that fell to the ground became a tree, my yard would be a dense forest.  Oy vey!

My shingles and I are getting along okay.  The purple pills seem to be working (IC-ValACYclovir 1 GM).  I can't pronounce it so I thought I'd spell it out.  I have no clue what it is but as long as it works I'm happy.  I also bought a gel that seems to get rid of most of the itch.

The Benedryl Gel is available on Amazon (and other stores) and it goes on clear.  It dries in just a couple minutes and really makes it much easier to cope with the shingles.  I'm posting this information in case anyone else gets them and wants to know how to ease the itch.

Folks, if you haven't already gotten it, please do get the new shingles shot.  It comes in two parts and is supposed to be much more effective than the old shot.  As soon as I'm cleared up, I'm going to get mine.

So, did you all get out yesterday and vote?  I did.  Folks, if you don't vote, you give up your chance to be heard.  At our voting place (the high school) we all got the "I voted" sticker and got to pick a piece of candy from a big pumpkin bowl.  Nice!

I spent a little time last night on the web shopping for birthday and Christmas gifts.  I did find a few, so that made me quite happy.  My calendars and cards arrived a few days ago, so I thought I would get started on addressing some envelopes.  But then I decided to wait another couple of weeks before doing that.

I'm thinking that I need to start wrapping a few things and getting them into boxes, so hopefully I can get started on that today.  Cliff is here to close up my porch.  So, I guess I'll be busy with that for a while.  Everything on the porch needs to be covered and the rug needs to be vacuumed and rolled up.  Looks like the wrapping will have to wait till later on.

I found this adorable image on the web and borrowed it to share here.  I try to be a good friend, and this makes me feel a bit better about my lack of skills in this area.

I try, I really do.

Today I have a new quick page for you.  This one is just for fun and to celebrate the beautiful colors of Fall.

Now I need to get started on cleaning and covering things on the porch.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.

Hugs, Edna B.

That itchy cream looks like something I need in my medicine cabinet, just in case:) I am about to place an Amazon order. Thankful that you are hopefully getting to the other side of the Shingles. I really need to get that shot, but I don't like some of the side effects... perhaps I should just bite the bullet and get it. Have a blessed day dear friend, HUGS!
