Good afternoon. I've been so busy all day that I'm wicked late getting here. This will be a short post because I still have lots to do before the day is over.
I've had a couple inquiries about the Halo Charger. The item number is: E-231932 at QVC.com. The sale price is (if they still have them) $39.98. The phone number for QVC is 1-800-345-1515. Good luck. Yes, you do have to charge the charger. It arrives with a half charge. Give it a full charge and then you are good to go for quite a while.
The mailman brought me some new catalogues today. I took a quick glance through one of them and found these fun things. Now I can't wait to sit down later and finish looking through the catalogue.
I still have to get two boxes to get ready to take to the Post Office in the morning. This is a must!! I also want to put my Christmas cards in the mail. I was out doing an errand this morning and missed the mail carrier.
*****NOTE - I forgot to post the download link for the QP on Nov. 21st. I have since posted the link on that post.
It's time for me to go now. Got lots to do and only a little time to do it. I'll make up for it on Sunday's post. So, till then, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

A New Gadget For My Phone
November 29, 2018
Good afternoon. Tis a busy day today so I'll probably have to come back here later today to finish this post. Cliff came by really early this morning to finish working on the gutters. Then Pogo and I went to pick up Jazzy and take her to the college.
In between then and now I 've been looking for an item on line. I heard a song on the radio this morning and I wanted to buy a copy of it. Hmm, not an easy task to do. Finding the song took a bit of hunting here, there and everywhere on line.
I finally found it, but not by the artist that I had wanted. No biggie though, the songwriter recorded a whole album, including this song. I bought the album. When it comes, I'll share more about the song.
DIL Janet came by yesterday after work and we had a lovely evening. She's crocheting hat sets for Christmas, and finished another hat last night. I worked on the pink afghan for a while. Only about nine more rows to go till it is finished.
***After a few interruptions, plus Pogo and I went to pickup Jazzy and then a quick tip to the Post Office to pick up a package, I'm back. Joe will be here in a few minutes and Pogo will be wanting to go out into the house to have his turkey treat, so this will be a short post. The package was from my friend Kyra in Holland.
Last night I ordered a HALO Powerpatch Portable Phone Charger with Wireless Charging. It was a today's special value for QVC and the price was right. I can keep this in my purse and I'll never have to worry about my phone's battery running low. Awesome! (I got the pink one)
Now I really have to get busy here. Got lots to do before the night is over. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Busy, Busy, Busy. Getting Ready For Friday.
November 28, 2018
Good morning. Well, Pogo and I left earlier this morning to get Jazzy and take her to the college. Then we came right home because I still have a lot of wrapping to do. I'm hoping to make a much bigger dent in it today.
Today I'm going to start using some Christmas bags. This should help to get a lot of the wrapping done. I also have to get out my tissue dollies because some of them have to be put into boxes. I've already written out all the mailing labels for the boxes. I just have to get the boxes filled.
I also have a handful of Christmas cards left to address. I'm not sure why I didn't get them finished but I'll get it done sometime today. I want to be mailing them all out this Friday. I'd also like to make a trip to the Post Office on Friday to mail out some boxes.
If I can achieve all these things between today and tomorrow, I'm going to be one very happy camper. It's my own fault that things get this chaotic every year around this time. But I'm not really complaining. I work on Christmas all year long. It's my time of year to have a lot of fun. I love making things for other people and I love giving things to folks and putting a smile on their faces.
I don't remember if I mentioned this before, but many years ago when there wasn't very much money to make a really nice Christmas for my kids, a stranger knocked on our door on Christmas Eve and gave us bags and bags of wonderful Christmas presents. Wow! So you can see why I have so much fun at Christmas each year.
I also need to check with Ace Hardware to see if they will be having the Christmas drive for the local shelters. If not, then I will have my donations sent directly to the shelters. Our beautiful animals deserve a happy Christmas too.
Today I have a new quick page for you. It features some of my favorite little friends. Have fun with it.

I've Finally Started The "W" Stuff
November 27, 2018
Good morning. Tis a gray rainy day here in New England. I was thinking I might like to sleep late this morning, but Pogo had other ideas. So I got up. Deanne isn't working today so I don't have to pick up Jazzy. Instead, I will stay home and wrap.
Yup, you heard me correctly, I will do a bit of wrapping today. Late yesterday afternoon, I actually got a whole bag full of gifts wrapped. But there is still a lot of wrapping to do. Today, I will mail the first of my Christmas cards. Only one, because it has so far to travel. In a few days, I'll put the rest of them in the mail.
Yesterday, on our way home, Pogo and I stopped at a Family Dollar store. What a surprise! Hardly anything there was priced at $1. It wasn't very cheerful there either so we left. A little closer to home, we stopped at the Dollar Tree store. Now this one is nice. Everything is a dollar or less, and it is much cleaner and cheerful.
They have some things in their freezer section that I normally buy at the market so I picked up some of them. One item was new to me. It was Broccoli and Cheese Bites. I have to say, they were very tasty. By the time we got home and put everything away, Joe got home from work and Pogo had his turkey treat.
After that, I took a big bag of wrapping supplies and a big bad of gifts out to the kitchen and began my wrapping. Today I would like to at least finish enough wrapping to get a couple of boxes ready for mailing this week.
This is going to be a very busy week for me. Supposedly, I have a couple dwarfs moving out this week, so I have those rooms to clean and get ready for new folks. I already have one new person waiting to move in as soon as I have a room available.
I dug into my photo archives for some fun photos to share. These first two photos are of a little Tufted Titmouse. I haven't seen very many of these around here this past year. Hmmm, I wonder why.
This next photo is one of my little Pogo that I took one night at work six years ago. I know I've probably posted it before, but it is one of my favorites.
It's beginning to clear up a bit outside, and almost looks like the sun might put in an appearance. That would be nice. Now I really must get busy here. If I don't get started soon, I won't get to it at all. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Another Busy Day Here
November 26, 2018
Good morning. Tis still gray outside but temps are a bit warmer. We're supposed to hit the mid forties today with rain later this afternoon. Folks, we're running out of 2018. Have you noticed? November is almost gone. It seems that the older I get, the faster time runs by me.
Lately, I've been watching all the Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel. I keep saying that I'm not going to watch any more of them, then the next thing you know I'm right back there watching them. I guess I'm just a sap for that warm fuzzy feeling and happy endings.
In a little while, Pogo and I have to be ready to leave here. We're going to pick up Jazzy and drive her to the college. On the way home, we may stop at the Dollar Store to pick up a few things. We enjoyed it the last time we stopped there.
There's not much happening around here. Folks are busy working and getting ready for the next big holiday. In a few weeks it will be time for me to start checking for airline flights for next year's vacation to Florida. That's only three months away.
I did do one new thing over the weekend. I signed up for LifeLock-Norton. I've been thinking about it for quite a while and I finally did it. It covers both my laptop and my phone, along with my personal financial matters. It gives me a safer feeling.
Today I have pictures of some new tee shirts that I think are adorable. Of course, I am just a teeny bit biased. hahahaha.
And this one fits me to a "tee" when I'm making new quick pages.
Now it's time for me to get busy. Pogo and I have to leave in less than an hour. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Faith And Love Can Move Mountains
November 25, 2018
Good morning. Yesterday was one of those days where I turned on my laptop to do some blog reading but then got side tracked. I never did make it back to my laptop. So this morning, the first thing I did was to read a couple of my favorite morning blogs.
One of the posts that I read brought back some wonderful memories from the past. I was born towards the end of the Great Depression, so I know a lot about growing up poor. Amazing though, none of us kids back then even realized that we were poor. Our folks all worked really hard to give us the best life they could.
My Dad's hands made beautiful things out of wood, and my Mom could sew the most beautiful dresses and dolly clothes. Somehow, Santa always found us on Christmas Eve. So we had cardboard inside our shoes to cover up the holes in the soles, and we shopped for our clothes lots of time at the local rummage sales. Life was still very good.
Actually, it was those rummage sales that gave me my love of books and reading and learning. Before I could even read, my folks brought me home boxes and boxes of books that they got for free there. Oh how I loved those books!
This all got me thinking about the day one of my daughters came home from college and asked me "Mom, how come you never told us kids how poor we really were?" I wasn't quite sure how to answer her. I think I said something like "Well if you never noticed, then I guess we weren't so poor after all."
Faith and love. That's how we do the things we do. Helping each other is how we all make it through the tough times. And especially now, with Christmas right around the corner, what if we all just reached out to help someone else? It's such a good feeling when you put a smile on someone's face. Even better, spread some of this Christmas feeling around throughout the year.
Enough of my memories for today. I have a new quick page for you. This one has all the little snow
kids having a wonderful time playing in the snow. Have fun with it.

Goodness, I Think My Shopping Is Done!
November 23, 2018
Good morning. Lordy, it's cold here in New England! Yesterday we had the coldest Thanksgiving Day in 117 years. Our temperature was only sixteen degrees. However, beginning tomorrow, we should have at least four days in the forties. How about that!
Pogo and I had a really nice day. He feasted on his hamburger, and I made meat sauce and elbow macaroni for me. Yum! Yum! I made enough to share with a couple of the dwarfs who had no plans to go out. However, I fell asleep and they did not get their macaroni. Sigh, sigh... This morning I made them each a bowl and took it out to them. They can have it for lunch.
Between phone calls and text messages, I got to chat with all my kids, several nieces and nephews and a few friends. After dinner, it was time to settle in for some serious TV shopping. Again. I know, I should have more restraint, but how could I resist all the wonderful bargains!!
I've been racking my brain for one more thing for my DIL Janet, and late last night I finally found it on HSN. Wowsie, now I could turn of the light and go to sleep. I think I've about finished all of my shopping. I'll soon know once everything gets here and can be put on my list and wrapped.
Daughter Audrey is sick with a bad cold and had to spend Thanksgiving Day alone. She was invited to a friend's house for dinner but she did not want to give her cold to anyone. Instead, they sent over a big plate of dinner along with dessert for her. Nice!
Deanne sent me a photo yesterday of her friend Pam's son Andrew. He had the pleasure of meeting President Trump and his beautiful wife. Awesome! Andrew is second in from the left.
Granddaughter Shanna and her two sons, along with her mother, recently got back from a visit to Florida to spend some time with her two of her brothers. This photo shows Trio (Gary III), Shanna and Stephen. These are my son's three eldest children.
Folks, if you haven't already read Sean Dietrich's blog post today, be sure to stop by and read it. It is so heart warming. I try to start my every day by reading his blog post. I'm hoping to someday meet Sean in person. Wouldn't that be nice!
Lately, I've been working (very slowly) on the pink afghan. I think I have about fourteen or fifteen more rows to go to finish it. Unless I've miscounted, then make that close to thirty more rows. Meanwhile I've put together a few patterns that I might try next. I get these from various places, so if anyone is interested let me know and I'll try to find the links.
Now I'm off to finish my coffee and do a bit of blog reading. After that, I want to spend some time working on some new quick pages. So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING DAY
November 22, 2018
Good morning and Happy Thanksgiving Day to all of you. Today is sunny and the temperature is a whopping sixteen degrees. Later, we'll get up to twenty degrees and then tonight we'll be down in the single digits. Brrrrr! This is just too cold for me.
Yesterday afternoon, Deanne came by with home made goodies. Cranberry bread and a large bowl of squash soup. YUM YUM! I had the soup for supper last with a large chunk of the bread for dessert. Deelish! I offered some to Pogo, but he opted for hamburger.
Deanne also brought me a turkey plant. Oh my, it is just the cutest thing! I took it outside to get a photo of it in daylight. Isn't this just adorable?? Thank you Deanne, I love it.
Today is a day to be thankful for all that we have and enjoy. I am so very thankful for all my family and friends, for waking up each morning and for my precious little Pogo. I dug into my photo archives for a favorite photo of my little guy. Everyone should have a Pogo. He is such a joy!
I'm not going to be a Chatty Cathy today. Everyone is busy cooking and enjoying being with their families and friends. Instead I'll share an adorable photo that Deanne took many years ago to make her Thanksgiving Day card. This is Kevin and Jazzy busy serving their Thanksgiving Dinner.
Pogo and I wish everyone a Blessed and Happy Thanksgiving Day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Lots To Do Today
November 21, 2018
Good morning. Today is gray and breezy. The temperature is thirty seven degrees. We may be getting some sunshine later, but I think I'll just stay indoors. Goodness knows, I have lots to keep me busy indoors.
In an hour and a half Pogo and I will be leaving to pick Jazzy up at the college and drive her to the Paris Cabaret. The new holiday show starts this weekend, so they are having rehearsals. I'm told that the DVD's for Gypsy have been ordered and hopefully will be here soon. I'm hoping to share a wee bit of it here.
The Spring show (as far as I know) is going to be The King And I. It's been so many year s since I first saw the movie that I will be ordering it from Amazon soon to refresh my memory. Pogo and I will watch it some evening with DIL Janet. This will be soooo nice.
I dug a couple photos from my archives to show what my Japanese Red Maple tree looked like six years ago today. Wowsie! What a difference. Today my beautiful tree is bald.
That year, I still had a lot of roses blooming too. Amazing, how different each year is. Maybe with all these early Winter temps our Spring will arrive early. I can dream.
Today I have another Thanksgiving quick page that I made from an old collab kit done by myself and Suruha. The kit is called "Ham Is Good For You."

Busy Busy Day (Just Not The Right Busy!)
November 20, 2018
Good morning. Tis a gray rainy day here in New England. I meant to take a photo of the new gutter on my little porch, but I forgot. As soon as this rain stops, I'll take a photo and let you know if this thing works.
So, how is my wrapping going? Yup, yup! And then I answered the phone. After that, I went out to get the mail and bring it in. Pogo was looking emaciated so I made him (and me) some lunch. Then, of course, the phone rang again. I found out that an order that I had placed a while ago to be shipped to Virginia had not arrived yet. So, of course, now I had to track down that order. It has been delayed, but it will arrive in time for Christmas.
Another item that I had ordered back in October still has not arrived yet so I had to make a call to track down that order. It seems that the item was out of stock. Hmm, I wonder why that company never notified me so that I could order something different?
By then, Joe was home and I had to go out in the house with Pogo so that he could get his turkey treat. Now I'm tired and I don't feel like cooking so I ordered steak and cheese with green peppers sub sandwiches. Normally, Pogo loves these (not the bread of course) but this time he wouldn't even eat his. Maybe because they took so long to get here that they were cold?
So, today is another day and I will try that wrapping stuff again. First though, I'll do my morning blog reading, then I'll make Pogo and me something to eat. Then I'll see show much mischief I can get into with the wrapping paper and stuff.
Our house cat, Blackie, is rather adventurous and is always looking for new things and places to investigate. Dwarf Mike takes care of Blackie so when he gets ready to go to bed at night, Blackie usually follows him to their room. One night though, Blackie was no where to be found and he did not come when Dwarf Mike called him.
Joe and Mike started searching the whole house looking for Blackie. You'll never guess where they found him. I keep an extra doggie bed (you never know when you'll need it). It is stored on top of my big stand up freezer. And yup, guess who was cuddled up in this little bed. Peek A Boo!
I borrowed this fun little story from the web. Here's hoping it starts your day with a giggle.
I'm off now to get busy here. If I wait much longer, the phone might ring or someone might come to my door. Better if I get started now on all those bags. Before I go, I have one more thing to share that I borrowed from the web. It gave me quite a smile because Pogo and I are having hamburgers (Pogo) and pasta with meat sauce (me). I think I'll make a key lime pie for dessert.
So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Seed Puffs On House Plants?
November 19, 2018
Good afternoon. Tis a gray day with temps in the thirties. Pogo and I met Cliff at Home Depot this morning and shopped for materials to put up gutters and downspouts. It was a rather nice way to break up a really gray day.
So, how did my wrapping go yesterday? Well, sort of okay. Nothing got wrapped, but I brought everything out and piled it onto my sofa. Then I set up large bags everywhere and started sorting things into bags. As I went along, I would match everything to my list. This kept me pretty busy until supper time.
These bags everywhere have been getting in my way (and Pogo's). So I guess the only way to get everything out of my living room is to wrap it all. Yup, so that's what I plan on doing for the rest of today.
Today I thought I would share photos of some of my plants. It's blossom time here for my Christmas Cactus plants. There are large buds on the fuschia plant and gorgeous light orchid blooms on the others.
This is my Aloe Vera plant. It started out rather tiny but now it is needing a much bigger pot.
And this is my Purple Passion plant. It started out as a tiny sprig from another plant, and now it is quite tall. It's time to make a few cuttings and replant it into a bigger pot. One strange thing I noticed lately is the seed puff balls that are growing at the very top of this plant. I've never seen this before on a house plant. I accidently knocked one of them off the plant. Now I'm wondering what would happen if I planted it. Hmmmm!
Well, I think I'll plant that fluff ball and if anything grows from it, I'll be sure to take some photos to share.
It's looking like we have rain coming. Even the air is feeling a bit raw. (outdoors) Temps have climbed to forty one degrees. Not bad! I'm off now to do a bit of blog reading before I start wrapping. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Busy Getting Ready For Winter
November 18, 2018
Good morning. Tis sunny and cold. Only thirty three degrees. Brrrrr! This is as warm as it will get today. Gosh, if it's this cold now, I wonder what the winter is going to be like once it gets here. (actually, it feels like it's already here)
It was busy around here yesterday. Joe spent hours in the yard, clearing away all the snow and the leaves. Cliff was here to "winterize" the snow blower. He'll try to be here tomorrow to get the generator ready for use. Pogo and I are going to meet him at Home Depot tomorrow morning (at least that's the plan so far) to buy some gutter materials. (I'll be late posting tomorrow)
Cliff is going to put a gutter on the front of my little porch to prevent my steps from icing over this winter. We may even be able to put one on the front entrance to the house to help cut down on the big icicles that we get there.
While the guys were busy out in the yard yesterday, Pogo was scratching at the door, letting me know that he wanted to go out too. He was in and out several times because it was too cold for him to stay out for very long.
Meanwhile, I was busy getting my Christmas cards ready for mailing. All but a handful are done. So I guess it's time now to get serious about the wrapping. Today I'm sort of in the mood to do this so maybe I'll get some of it done.
While we still had the snow on the ground, I took a photo of my hanging plant that is still hanging outside on the porch. I held it on the gate so that you could see it against the background of snow. Can you imagine this beautiful plant still blossoming? It is just the prettiest sight to see.
Today I have another new quick page for you. This one is made from an old collab kit that I made with my friend Suruha. It can be a fun page for your Thanksgiving Day photos. Enjoy.

I've been watching the Jewelry Channel all morning, and the jewelry they're showing is simply gorgeous. I'm being very good though, just looking. Today they are showing earrings and a necklace that match a Brazilian Citrine ring that I bought a couple years ago. My ring is set with yellow diamonds on either side of the citrine. Just beautiful! I can't wear earrings and I don't wear necklaces any more. But I do love my rings!
Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading before I get started on my wrapping. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Our First Snow Of The Season
November 16, 2018
Good morning. Oh my, what a sloppy mess it is outside in my yard right now. It started snowing last night around supper time. It wasn't really so bad, we just got a few inches. However, not enough rain came when the snow stopped to clean it all out of my driveway. Instead it left a squishy sloppy mess. Here's a photo I took shortly after the snow started falling.
Today is cloudy, but the temperature is up to forty one degrees. Hopefully, this is going to help to get rid of this mess in my yard. I am thankful that we did not get enough snow to use the snow blower because there are still a lot of leaves on the ground under this snow. That means that we would not be able to use the snow blower anyway.
While I was busy taking photos of the snow, my little man was just sitting on my lounge chair watching me. Of course I had to take a few photos of him too. What can I say? This little guy steals my heart every time I look at him. He is just too precious!
I guess I'll wait till this weekend to do my grocery shopping. I don't relish going out in this mess. Even though the main roads are dry, I'd still have to walk through the mess outside here. Instead, I think I'll try wrapping again. Every little package wrapped gets me a bit closer to my goal.
My shingles are slowly fading away. I have to say, I've been lucky with them. Like I said before though, I think it's because I had last year's shingle shot and got to the doctor within twenty four hours of them showing up.
Yesterday, while I was out in the house watering all my indoor plants, I noticed some new blooms on one of my Christmas Cactus plants. These blossoms are a beautiful light orchid color. Of course I had to take a few photos to share. Aren't these pretty?
I've been working on the pink afghan these past couple of nights. Just a couple rows at a time. I have to keep stopping to give my left hand a rest. The thumb keeps going numb, mostly because of carpal tunnel. No biggie though, I just rest it a while then pick up my crocheting again.
Now it's time for me to do a bit of blog reading before digging into my chores. So, till Sunday, Y'all have an awesome weekend.
Hugs, Edna B.

Snow Is On The Way!
November 15, 2018
Good morning. The sun is hiding behind the clouds, so it's gray to go along with the 23F degrees temperature. According to my phone, temps should rise to freezing later today, and then we'll most likely be getting some snow by early evening.
I was hoping the snow would hold off until after Thanksgiving so that we wouldn't have to finish closing off the front of my porch just yet. Alas, the snow doesn't seem to care what I think. It's coming, ready or not. I've sent a message to Cliff to see if he can come by over the weekend to finishing closing the rest of the porch.
I had a question about what I made with my Pot Roast. To be honest, I cheat a little bit. I buy it frozen. It's all made. You just heat and serve. You can heat it in the microwave, or better yet put it in your slow cooker and leave it be. Here's a photo of the package in case anyone wants to try it. I buy this at WalMart.
Years ago, I used to cook mostly from scratch. But now there is just me and Pogo most of the time, so this type of meal is really good for me. Plus, it tastes good. I still cook some things from scratch, but there are a lot of really tasty meals already cooked and frozen.
While I was out taking photos in the rain the other day, I also took a photo of the neat little pile of leaves that have blown up onto my porch. They just looked so interesting. There are so many different types of leaves in this little pile.
I also took photos of my last outdoor hanging plant that is still blooming. I had thought this plant was a goner, but it keeps surprising me with beautiful little blossoms.
I wonder if this plant would live longer if I brought it indoors. It is an annual, but you never know. When it stops blooming, I may prune it back a bit and bring it indoors to see what happens.
Yesterday afternoon, I sat down with my new Christmas cards, and addressed more than half of them. It helped to put me in the holiday mood. Maybe I can actually get a few things wrapped now.
Have you noticed how little is left of this year? Thanksgiving is next week, Hanukkah is in seventeen days and Christmas is only forty days away. Shortly after that, we'll be ringing in another new year. This year seems to have really flown by even faster than last year.
It's supposed to rain tomorrow, but I may have to go out to do some grocery shopping anyway. If not, I'll have to get it done over the weekend. I'm down to my last bag of popsicles! I have these every night for my snack. They are only forty calories each and they taste good. (of course, I sneak in a little chocolate or some cookies too!)
Now I'm going to make a fresh cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

It's Time To Get Out Our Snuggies!
November 14, 2018
Good morning. Tis sunny and breezy this morning with temps in the BRRRRR's. The temperature is 35 f degrees, and will drop down to 20F degrees during the night tonight. Yikes! It's time to dig out my winter snuggies!
Okay, let's get right to today's question. Do you have a Squatty Potty in your home yet? According to the TV commercial, more than one million people already have one. Really? They just started advertising the product, so how did so many people already jump on the bandwagon?
According to the TV ad, you can be so much healthier and have better eliminations for just $19.95, plus shipping and handling. For an extra fee, you can double your order. I mean, think about it. Two Squatty Potties are better than one!
So what is a Squatty Potty? Here are a couple images that I borrowed from the web to share. They are self explanatory. (I suggest removing those slacks before using!)
Folks, TV just isn't what it used to be! It wasn't that long ago that we could look up this sort of information at the library or on the web. Now we just have to turn on our television set and the information will come to us. Nuff said!
Yesterday was a gray, wet day. But you know, even when Mother Nature dishes out weather that might spoil our plans for the day, she quite often leaves us with some wonderful opportunities for photos. When it rains, part of my yard turns into a little pond. Add to this all the colorful leaves that have been falling and some reflections, and you have some very interesting photos. Here's one of them.
So, did I get any wrapping done yesterday? Not as much as I had wanted to do. But I did get one box ready for mailing. It's only one box, but it's a start. Maybe today I'll do better.
Today I need to put together my grocery shopping list. There are some things that I can't get online, so I need to make a trip to the market. Plus, I'm down to my last case of spring water, so it's time to stock up again.
Later today DIL Janet will be coming by after work. We're going to have pot roast for our supper. It's already cooking. Don't you just love slow cookers? Just put the food in, turn it on low, then go about your business. Dinner will be ready when it's time to sit down and eat.
For lunch today, Pogo and I are going to have left over Chinese food from last night's supper. Pork Lo Mein and Pork Fried Rice, these are Pogo's favorites. The last time we ordered, we tried the Chow Mein. Pogo was not so crazy about that, so this time it was back to our regular order.
Today I have another new quick page for you. This one celebrates everyone born this month. Your birthstone is Imperial Topaz or Citrine. Enjoy!

Tis A Lovely Day For The Ducks
November 13, 2018
Good morning. As the old saying goes "It's a great morning for the ducks." Now I don't really know if ducks really like the rain, but this saying goes way back to when I was a little girl and then some. Tis gray and wet, and the temperature is fifty one degrees. However, from here on the temps just go down and will be cold.
Well, was I good yesterday and get some wrapping done? Nope! I made a start. I did get a couple things ready for wrapping. I even touched the wrapping paper. But I just could not make myself wrap anything. I promise to try again today. Why am I so bad about this? I just don't know.
Yesterday I took a photo of the gray afghan to share. I rather like this one quite a lot.

Deanne called yesterday to say that the photo of her and Eddie at the parade was published in the newspaper, along with an interview. It explained about the names on the back of the sign that she holds up at the parade. They are the names of friends and relatives who are veterans that have died. Here's a photo of the newspaper article.
When Audrey was here last month, she had started crocheting a bed jacket. It was to be a Christmas gift for her friend Miss Bea's elderly aunt. Here is a photo she sent to me showing Miss Bea modeling the bed jacket. Audrey, her auntie is going to love this. It really came out quite lovely. Miss Bea, you're looking rather pretty too.
There's a new commercial on TV that's, well - I'm not sure how I feel about this one yet. But I'll save it for tomorrow's post. Right now, I'm going to make a hot cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading. Then I'll give the wrapping thing another try. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

Honoring Our Veterans
November 12, 2018
Good morning. The sun is shining, but tis a bit nippy this morning. Only 27F degrees! Later today temps should rise to the low forties but for now it's just too nippy for me. Supposedly, we have almost six more weeks of Autumn. Temps like this feel like we're in for an early Winter.
Yesterday, there were parades to honor our veterans. Hopefully you all were able to join in the celebration in your home town. Deanne and Eddie were downtown celebrating and the newspaper photographer took these photos. I'm very proud of both of you.

Here are a couple photos that I took Saturday while we were out. This first photo shows one of the decorations in our downtown area.
I love taking photos of our flag. This one is in front of McDonalds, taken from inside my car. I think it is just beautiful!
Yesterday was a really quiet day for me and Pogo. I spent a little while learning how to use my new digital mouse pen. It will take a little while to get used to it, but it is interesting. Last night, I finished the gray afghan. Later today I'll take a photo of it to share.
Today I have to seriously start wrapping a few things. I've set two things on my chair, so if I want to sit and rest I'll first have to wrap these things. Hopefully this will get me in the mood. Funny, when I was younger, the wrapping was so enjoyable for me. Now it's not such fun anymore. I love the shopping part, just not the wrapping part.
However, I'm off now to get that first item wrapped. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Something Wrong With My Math?
November 11, 2018
Good morning. It's only 3:13 a.m., but as long as I'm up and awake I thought I may as well type my post now. Just in case I fall asleep when it's time to get up. (somehow that doesn't make sense!) It's dark outside and 32F degrees, with a prediction of reaching the low forties later today.
Did that title get you wondering what I mean? Yesterday, on the way home from doing a couple errands, Pogo and I stopped at McDonalds for a quick bite to eat. I ordered the special; Big Mac, French fries, coke and an apple pie. Price $6.42 including tax.
The fellow at the ordering window tells me that they only have pumpkin pie. The apple pies are still cooking. I tell him I do not want pumpkin pie. Please give me a something in its place, or take it off the price of my order. He took it off my order and said my new total was $8.11. What?
I told him that could not be. He was taking something off the price, not adding to it. He said that because I did not want the little pie, the price goes up to $8.11. Now I know that I'm old and maybe I don't remember everything, but has math really changed that much?????
There is a long line behind me, so I finally asked to see his supervisor. He left and after a few minutes comes back and says that now I can have the apple pie. They have finished cooking. After all this, I almost don't want my order. But I am hungry so I paid the $6.42 and went on my way. Can you imagine? The price goes down if they include the pie in my order!!! I still haven't figured it out!
While we were out, I stopped a few times to get some photos of the trees that still had their leaves. They are so pretty.
I took this next photo because I thought it was interesting how the tree on one side of the street was already naked, and the tree on the other side of the street still had most of its leaves.
I finished taking the purple pills Friday evening, so yesterday I was curious to see how the shingles were going to feel now. No different! If they haven't cleared up by next Friday, I'm supposed to call the doctor at the Urgent Care. Actually, I'm lucky though. They haven't spread very far from the original outbreak spot. (and they seem to be fading)
Yesterday morning I woke up with a nasty pain in my lower back (off to one side). As the day wore on, it did not go away, so I finally took a pain pill when we got back from our errands. Earlier, I had put an IcyHot Lidocaine Patch on the pain spot, but it did not seem to do much for me. The pain pill helped quite a bit.
This morning, the pain is still there but it is now a dull ache. Hopefully, in a few more hours it will be all gone. Folks, sometimes getting old is a bit crappy. All sorts of aches and pains seem to crop up, memory begins to take a frequent leave of absence and the whole body slows down. Don't get me wrong, it's still better than the alternative!!!
I spent several hours on my laptop yesterday, working on new quick pages. It's always very relaxing. Today's quick page features my favorite subjects. The animals. It reminds us to always be kind to the animals because they will always do their best to protect us. Yes, even the wildlife, as long as we are not hurting them.

Before I take my leave here, I must share something very interesting with you. Guess who ate doggie food this weekend??? Yup, Pogo did!! While we were shopping at Ocean State Job Lot a few days ago, I picked up a few tins of a new brand (one that I hadn't seen before). I figure I can give them to Sassy if Pogo doesn't want them. Surprise, surprise! He ate it! My goodness, will wonders never cease!
Now I'm off to finish my coffee and watch a bit of TV. I've been keeping my eye on the shopping channels because they have been having some wicked good holiday sales. I'd like to have all my shopping finished in the next couple of weeks. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.
Hugs, Edna B.
