What's In A Name?

January 25, 2022

Good morning.  Tis gray and 33F degrees outside today.  We've had a dusting of snow.  Just enough to cover up any tracks in the old snow.

Gosh, do you realize that February is only a week away?  Wouldn't it be nice if the warm temps were only a week away?  Oh goodness, what a happy thought that is!  Alas, it isn't so.

Perry Mason is on TV now, but this is one of the stories that starts out very confusing.  I can't seem to get the gist of it so I've turned it off and put on a game show.  Believe me, this doesn't happy very often.

The old game shows are really interesting and fun to watch.  It's a pity we don't still have lots of these games on TV.   I, for one, would watch more regular TV.

It's slow getting back to my crocheting.  I'm just doing a few rows at a time.  My concentration isn't back to what it used to be.  I guess as we get older, things take longer to happen.

Here's an interesting map showing some funny named towns in England.

I also found a list of the symptoms for Omnicron, and thought it might be helpful.  If you do have these symptoms, do call your doctor.

In a little while, there will be a Law & Order marathon on TV, so I think I'll do a bit of blog reading first.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I hope your cold is better by now! I know what you mean about the "Perry Mason" episode. Some of them are hard to grasp from the beginning. I've never heard of any of those places on the UK map -- they must be tiny, a "wide spot in the road," as my grandfather would have said.

Glad you are back bit on the crocheting. A dust of snow is not too bad(better none, but if there has to be something of the white ......). did you hear or see about the snowfall they had yesterday/today in Greece and istanbul??? Gosh, I hope it doesnt; find its way to us.
How was the new meal?
There are places on Earth with funny names.
What would be the history behind the name giving of that village or town?
I finished the yellow blanket, will try to have a photo on the blog on Sunday. Now I threw myself on a new stitch, the waffel stitch. It is fun to make.
Now Saturday Jan has his birthday, I already have done some grocerie shopping for a tasty meal.
Don;t you hate it too as there is a good crime story/serie but the story starts too confusing? When it happenes and I cannot get the grasp of it in, say. 10 minutes I skip it.
Have fun watching the Law and Order and may some more old game shows(they were fun, but there are a few nowadays too that are not bad).
Wishing you a wonderful and staying warm day,
Hugs
Kyra

The rain finally moved on out late yesterday evening and thankfully it is not as cold during the day. Right now we are in the mid 50's but it is supposed to get really cold tomorrow night.

We have some funny sounding names here in the US that I just shake my head at. One place I have been too and will always remember was in California called Bodfish. LOL.

Have a fantastic day my friend. xoxoxo

It's cold here for a few days, it's been a pretty mild winter so far. My Daughter and her family have just had the virus with lots of those symptoms. It wasn't too bad and they isolated for about a week until they all were better. Thankfully they are all better now. Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!
