My Remote Control Died, Slowly.

May 23, 2018

Good morning.  Today is cloudy, but sunny,  Temps are in the sixties, but will soon be rising up to eighty degrees.  We had a little rain yesterday and overnight, and there's one small puddle out front for the birds to splash in.

Yesterday was a page out of Murphy's Law Book.  When I went to sleep the night before, the TV was working just fine.  However, yesterday morning the program guide on the remote was not working.  Next, the volume arrows stopped working, and I couldn't change the channels either.  Finally, nothing on the remote control was working.  So, I changed the batteries in the remote.  Nope, that did not fix anything.

I called the cable company, but after trying all sorts of things, the problems with the remote were not solved.  The tech person advised me that I would need a new remote.  I could wait a couple more days and a tech would bring it to me, or I could go to their local store and pick one up.  Right after I hung up the phone, the volume on the TV stopped working.  I don't dare shut the TV off.  It might never come back on.

I did not know it but the cable store had moved to a new location.  It's a good thing that Deanne had called me because she told me about the move and where the new cable store was located.  She even met me there and went in with me.  Once inside, we were told that they were out of the remote that I needed, but I could wait about thirty minutes and a technician would get one for me.

In about five minutes, a technician called my name and got me a new remote.  Later, Deanne and Eddie came by and Eddie set the new remote to my TV.  When they left, my TV was working just fine.  And it still is.  Thank you so much Eddie.  I really do appreciate it.  The TV is entertainment for Pogo and me.

I have a photo to share of Deanne and some friends.  They all went to the Red Sox game, and from the looks of things, they had a really good time.  Deanne is on the left.  As you can see, Mookie Betts is the girls' favorite player.  (Mookie is a right fielder for the Boston Red Sox)

Today will be quiet.  I think I'm just going to try to toss and throw out a few more things.  This project is very slow going.  I think I'll work on it for a couple hours, then Pogo and I will sit out on the porch for a while.

I do have a new quick page for you.  This one features Zlata, who is entertaining her friends with a story and a hand puppet.  Enjoy.

Now I think I'll get moving and attack the computer room.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
