A New American Princess

May 20, 2018

Good morning.  Gosh, it's almost noon.  I've been so busy doing goodness knows what that I'm running out of morning.  I had a quick page in mind for today, but I noticed a boo boo on it, and took the time to fix it.  Now I still have to upload it and get a new link.  I'll have to save this one for another day.

I also did a bit of blog reading.  I like to start my days reading a few favorite blogs.  I'm glad to say that my dear friend Kyra is feeling much better now and did post today.  It will still take quite a while before she is completely healed, but at least she is on the mend.

Well, well, well, I hope all of you got to watch the Royal Wedding yesterday on TV, or better yet, in person?  Pogo and I watched it on TV, and oh my, what a lovely wedding.  Harry and Meghan are such a beautiful couple, and I wish them many years of happiness.  These are a couple photos that I downloaded from Google.

Today the weather is overcast, but at least it's fairly warm.  The temperature is 71F degrees, working its way to the upper seventies.  There's a bit of a gentle breeze making my flag wave ever so slowly against a background of beautiful rich shades of green.  The leaves on the tree out front are waving slowly too.  It's such a pretty picture.

I mentioned before that I would take a photo of the huge Mother's Day card that Deanne gave me.  I did take the photo but then I forgot to post it.  So here it is.  I leaned it against the storm door so that you could see how big it is.  Isn''t this pretty?  Pogo has a thing about cards and envelopes, so this one kept him busy sniffing for quite a while.

I've been working on the Cranberry afghan, slowly.  My hands seem to be doing what my eyes do.  I've always read a lot, but starting somewhere in my late thirties and early forties, I have trouble figuring out fancy fonts, plus the printed letters are not always looking to me like they actually look to others.  Usually the letters are just not in the right order, making it harder to read.  I spend a lot of time re-reading.

Lately, I also spend a lot of time re-doing stitches that looked perfectly fine when I checked them.  Trying too hard to read words, or to get a stitch right, tends to make my eyes get blurry.  That's when I have to stop and take a break.  Typing is the same.  I do a lot of re-typing when I'm writing a post.  The darn letters keep getting tangled with each other.  Ah, but without all this, life would be too easy.

I ran out of hamburgers and I've been cooking the steak burgers from Omaha Steaks for Pogo lately.  Well, I'm almost out of the steak burgers now so Joe went to the market this morning and picked up some of Pogo's favorite burgers.  Thank you Joe!  And Pogo thanks you too!

Today I want to spend a bit of time on my laptop making a few new quick pages, but first I need to go online and order a few more skeins of yarn.  I need more red and at least one skein of white.  I'd like to make a few more of the red baby hats in between crochet projects for next February's babies.  If anyone wants to make some baby hats, I'll be glad to share a pattern.  If your hospital does not participate in the red hat program, I can share the address where I sent my hats last January.

I do have a new quick page for you today.  This one features a nautical theme, and might be fun for some of your boating and beach photos.  Enjoy.

Now I think I'll wash a few dishes, and make some lunch for Pogo and me.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
