A Picture From The Past

May 16, 2018

Good morning.  It's looking like another gorgeous Spring day outside my door.  The temps are cooler today though, only in the upper fifties.  And, there are lots of puddles everywhere that need to dry up.

Yesterday, I did not get to go grocery shopping until after four o'clock in the afternoon.  I managed to get most everything on my shopping list before I ran out of steam and headed for the checkout counter.  It had started raining when I went outside to go to my car.  Needless to say, I got just a tad bit wet while I was putting the groceries into the car.  As soon as I got the car running, the rain got a bit heavier.

On the ride home, the rain kept coming down heavier, making  the visibility not so good.  However, once I got into my driveway and parked the car, the heavens opened up and the rain came down in sheets.  Yup, I got drenched!  I grabbed one batch of bundles and made a dash for the house.  Joe went out and got the rest of my groceries and brought them in.  Now we were both looking like drowned rats.

Once I got my breath back and had put everything away, the rain had slowed down quite a bit.  Well, of course.  Why would it want to slow down when I needed to bring the groceries in the house?  I guess this is Mother Nature's way of having a bit of fun with us.

Yesterday, I was cleaning out some old email from an account that I don't use anymore, and I came across a photo of Pogo that was taken by his foster mother after his surgery. (2012)  She sent this to me to see if I would be interested in adopting him.  Are you kidding me?  Of course I would love to adopt this precious little fellow.

He hasn't really changed much in all these years, except that he's a bit plumper.  He weighs about a pound and a half more now (five pounds) than he did then (three and a half pounds).  His foster mom told me that Pogo loved people, other dogs and cats and riding in the car.  He still does.  Plus he loves shopping, barking at the mailman and watching the squirrels and birds.

Right now my little guy is curled up in a blanket, next to me on the sofa.  He's decided that sleeping will take his mind off his tummy.  I gave him chicken for breakfast, but he only ate a little of it.  He's holding out for hamburger.  So I guess I'll be cooking him a hamburger after I finish this post.

Today I have another quick page for you.  This one is a bit somber, yet it has a touch of whimsy too.  Have fun with it.

Now I think I'll head for the kitchen and start cooking that hamburger.  So ,till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
