Now Folks Can Ring My Bell

October 25, 2017

Good morning.  Gosh, I do believe we are in a little monsoon season.  It rained during the night, and today the heavier rain comes in spurts.  At least so far.  Outside, we have puddles galore.  You won't believe this, but a fellow across the street is out in the rain washing one of his cars with a hand held hose.  In the rain!  Is he nuts?  I guess it takes all kinds!

Yesterday, the mailman showed up bearing lots of goodies.  He had four different packages, plus mail, for me.  Included in the packages was a new door bell for me, and a book.  My old doorbell died a long time ago.  This new doorbell will make it easier for me to know when someone is at the door by my pantry.

The new book is called "The Big Dictionary of Dreams."  It includes quite a lot of the history of dreams as well as a huge dictionary on the meaning of different dreams.  This should be quite interesting.

Well, yesterday was a good day for me.  In the afternoon, I started working on photos for my new calendar, and I didn't stop until I was finished.  Yup, even went online to design and order the calendars.  Now I just have to wait for them to get here.  Woo Hoo!

After that was finished, daughter Deanne and Janice came by with some groceries for me.  While they were here, they took my air conditioner out of the window, and wrapped it up for the winter.  I'm not sure what I did to deserve this spoiling, but I must say that I like it.

I showed the nappy covers to Deanne and asked her what other color I should make one in.  We both decided on a medium brown.  So, last night, I started a new nappy cover.  As you can see, it's far from finished, but it will look rather nice when it is done.

While working on this new nappy cover, I decided that one of the new afghans will be in shades of brown and beige.  I think I'd like to make one in gray tones too.  That's one color I haven't done much with.  I'll have to look around to see if there are any pretty variegated yarns that go well with shades of gray.  Another color scheme I think I'd like to work with is Cranberry and Pink, with possibly a matching variegated yarn.  Hmmm, so much to think about!

You know, I love the little critters in our yard, so yesterday I pulled another photo from my archives to share.  This little chipmunk seems to be enjoying watching the leaves falling as the wind blows.

I got another update from Angelica yesterday.  Her health is not so good, but she keeps up a good spirit about her.  Angelica, if you read this, please send me an email at pogosma@gmail.com.  Pogo and I hope your day is a good one.

Well. that's my news for today.  So till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Good Morning Edna and Pogo.
Just finding some time to catch up on your blogs and wow, you have had some interesting days even if they are just regular days.
I am sorry I have been so busy but today I hope to get a few things out of the way so I can spend the rest of the day just crocheting. I haven't had a chance.
Also Matt is here and he and Nathan have been helping me with a lot of things.
Your projects are looking good Mam... I know how hard it is to try to decide on all the pretty colors. I am ordering from Herrsner's this time. The winter catalogue has a good sale going on. Now just to figure out the colors!!
I will talk to you soon. I have to get some things done (again)... Hugs and Love to Pogo from Cisco. Hugs from me to you both nd have a fantastic day my friend. Love, Beth and Cisco

Hi Edna, good to see you here. I love that your daughters take such great care of you. I think that is so kind of them helping you with things like the a/c unit.

We had summer like temps today and tomorrow snow with cold. Who knows, living in Colorado we never know what the weather will do day to day.

You stay so darn busy doing such fun stuff. I try to make the personalized calendars but then I have photos that have too much low resolution so I never get great quality. UGH makes me crazy!

I would love to have talent to crochet or knit or quilt or even sew! I was in a tea cup/mug giveaway. One of the gals who had my name did the cutest tiny tea wallet in cross stitch. Oh my goodness, I was so happy. It holds three teabags so I can carry it in my purse. I have a large one a lady made that holds like 10 and she did embroidering on it. I love little cute tea things like that.

Your new doorbell sounds cool. If Leo is not here or Jeremy's dogs, I never hear the doorbell. It is too quiet

I hope you have a great rest of your week and the weather keeps you cozy. Enjoy your weekend too. I still have Halloween candy to buy. We usually get quite a crowd of kids. So darn cute too.

HUGS
Anne

Lovely that you had all those fantastic visits!
That are surprises that make life a bit smiling.
I think greys, perhaps some lights ones and dark ones, like almost black could make a very n ice afghan.
I like those colors really well, because they give kind of peace. Of course bright colors are lovely too, they can make you smile, but sometimes the eye needs some rest, and then greys, perhaps with a bit of white or so, are great.
I am sure I forgot to comment on a lot you wrote in your posts, but..........I did read them all! WOW.
Now it is really time for me to get a littl busy around here.
First will take some breakfast and then probably will find something to keep me busy till it is time to visit Jan in hospital.
He is looking and sounding a lot better than last weekend.
That already is good to see. He still is rather echausted and weak, of course, but it seems to go the good way.
Yesterday they drained the fluid of his belly, I think it was around or 5 ltrs again!.
We will take it by the day, hope his own specialist will perhaps visit him today.
Well, take care dear, and stay safe!
Big hug
Kyra
