Temps Are Cooling Down

September 19, 2021

Good morning.  Today will be sunny with temps in the sixties.  Yup, temps are definitely getting cooler.  It feels good, and it would be nice to stay this way year round, but that is not to be.  Leaves are beginning to change colors and some are falling to the ground.

There's not a lot on TV on Sunday mornings, so I start out watching PBS.  They have creative programs on beading, metal jewelry, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting, etc.  These are all very interesting.  I don't have to be doing all these different crafts.  It's the learning that is the fun.

Today on the sewing program, author Jennifer Chiaverini was featured with her book "Mrs. Lincoln's Dressmaker."  It sounds like such an interesting book that I've gone to Amazon and ordered a copy.  It has a one day delivery, so I can start enjoying this new book as early as tomorrow.

It's the story of Elizabeth Keckley, born into slavery, and her friendship with Mary Todd Lincoln.  Elizabeth was a gifted seamstress.  She earned freedom for herself and for her son by the skill of her needle.   She won the friendship of First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln by her devotion.

Now that the creative programs are over, I'll switch over to WE TV and watch Law & Order for a while.  I have a cabinet that needs cleaning out, so maybe I can work on that while I'm watching TV.  After that, I think I'll make a meat sauce and cook up a pot of spaghetti.

I think I posted about animal overpasses before but it's worth a repeat.  Here's a picture of one of these overpasses.  They are very effective in saving lives.  We should be building these across the country.

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading before getting started on this new day.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

I've heard of underpasses for (smaller) animals too -- also a good idea. And maybe cheaper!

I too love watching those kind of crafting tv, I've seen also on BBC about pottery, very interesting and peope can make beautiful things.
We've just had dinner and I am ready with the washing up, so almost tv time now.
We have here too several "ecoducts"for animals and they work rather fine.
It's good they are there, because "wild nature areas"are shrinking drastically.
Spaghetti sounds good. And it is quick and easy and always tastes good.
Have a happy and wonderful day.
Hugs

I love to watch people creating, too, even if I would never try it myself. I am fascinated by how things are done or made.
I am probably one of the few people who has never seen Law and Order shows.
I love that idea of making lots of animal passes. :)

Catching up on some of the days I missed. I love PBS also. This series about native American Indians in Wisconsin was so interesting. You might like it. https://www.pbs.org/video/st-croix-ojibwe-history-5ufxdg/
