Cutting Some Cable Ties

September 27, 2021

Good morning.  It's looking right pretty outside my door this morning.  My phone app says today will be sunny with temps in the low seventies.  Super!

Yesterday was another slow day for me.  Much as I thought I might accomplish many things, alas it did not happen.  But that's okay.  I have today to try again.  I'll start by washing some dishes, then I'll take it from there.

The mailman just came and I went outside to pick up the mail.  In it I found an offer from TV Guide magazine.  "We recently sent you an offer and we haven't heard from you.  This is to let you know that we are extending the offer but only for a limited time."   The offer is asking me to renew my subscription and they will send me some gifts.  My current subscription doesn't end until August 2023.  Why would I want to renew it now?

I have a question to ask you.  Does anyone know why the blog at Laurelwd.com has been removed?  I do hope this is not bad news.

Yesterday, the cable went out on our TV in the den out in the main house.  This happens frequently.  Right now, I have just finished talking with the cable company on the phone to discontinue the use of the cable to the TV in the den.  I've already ordered an antenna for this TV and it should be here tomorrow.  Hopefully, this will work out better.

I also asked the folks at the cable company what the 911 fee was on my bill.  It seems no one there knows what it is.  All they would say is that it is a state fee.  I don't believe that they don't know what this fee is.  However, I looked it up on Google and it says that the fee provides funding for the operation of 911 telecommunications services in my area. There's also more information on this subject for anyone interested in looking it up.

It's beginning to sound like a regular day here at the old homestead.  I sure do hope there are no more issues to deal with for the rest of the day.

Here's an image that I borrowed from the web.  It shows some of the companies that are using animals in test laboratories.  Please consider not using these products.

There is absolutely no reason to be testing on animals.  It's a sin to hurt these precious animals.

Now I'm off to start my day.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Today is as good as yesterday trying to accomplish a few things, my dear! LOL.
Cable companies mostly come with not too man problems, but there are times.............. Now we have to have another antenna for the radio, seems via the cable we still listened analogue. Throw it in my hat, and I will see what to do about it. I think I will have to call the company to have a modem for it , probably I will ask to have someone come over to install it(I am not in the mood anymore for figurine out these things). it's not a big problem but Must be done.
I hope the antenna in the den will do better for the tv.
Funny tht folks on the cable company couldn;t tell you about the fee. Hmmmm, there are sometimes very strange fees on bills, that I know.
Tomorrow will be the last really nice day, then weather will really change. Pity, but it is the season for it.
Have a nice day,
Hugs

Temperatures here have taken a dive in the last couple of days - from 73 F down to 56 F. The heating will need to go on very soon.

I've had another of my favorite blogs give a message when I went to it today too. I have no idea what's going on. Hope the storms aren't bad today! Hugs!

Hi Edna,I can answer your question about trhe blog you asked about, Laurelwood, and confirm what you already know that it has been removed. Sadly, the blog owner, Mildred, who was diagnosed with cancer is not doing very well. She has told me she will correspond with me by email when she can. She had not previously shared that she would be removing her blog, but certainly it's understandable. When I send her my next email, I will let her know that fellow bloggers have been asking about her. Sorry to not have more positive info to share, but sadly this has happened in the past too.

Thanks for the heads up about companies that test using animals, Edna. I can thankfully say that since I do not use any makeup products, none of these are on my "use" list. Hopefully, others seeing this listing will stop their usage as well.
