Say Farewell To June

June 30, 2021

Good morning.   My goodness, we've reached the end of June already.  And hopefully, these wicked hot temps.  Today will probably hit 100 degrees, then around seven p.m. the temps should drop around twenty degrees or more.  My phone app says we'll get some rain early this evening.  That sure would be nice.

Yesterday, I took the day off from my computer.  I think the heat makes me tired.  I did crochet a few rows, but even that was not holding my interest.  Deanne says in a few days, (after the heat wave is over)  she'll take me for an ice cream.  Now THAT peaks my interest!  I've been dreaming of a Dairy Queen ice cream cone for days.  How did she know?

I know I've mentioned before that my daughter Audrey and her husband both do taxidermy.  Not my cup of tee.  But I did find this adorable crochet pattern book.  How cute is this!  (still not my cup of tea)

I got another book in the mail yesterday that I never ordered.  I wrote "Return - Never Ordered" on it and I'm putting it back out for the mail to pick up.  I wonder why these companies insist on sending these unordered books out along with invoices?

One of my favorite TV channels is now gone from the Comcast lineup.  Shop LC is no longer available to me.  I called the shopping station and they said to ask Comcast.  Comcast, after three very long phone calls, said that Shop LC just left cable.  I ended up having to put an icon on my cell phone so that I could watch some of this program.  It's just another reason to get rid of cable.

So far, my tomatoes are doing fine.  There's nothing ready for picking, but there are lots of little green tomatoes.  So far, the heat hasn't bothered them.  One tomato is about an inch and a half wide.  Woo Hoo!

There's not much news here so I'm off to do some blog reading.  Before I go, let me leave you with this adorable picture of a Mama Sloth with her Babies.  What a beautiful family!

So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Goshm you really have hot days. Today we had around 17C, with on and off light rain, tomorrow the same, although here perhaps almost dry. After the weekend it should be better with temps of 21-22C.

Must be nerving to receive packages with things you didn't order at all.
What a shame the shop LV is over for you on the cable. May be for you satellite tv could be the thing?

Watch your tomatoes, give them enough water and perhaps every week some feed, they will be good to you LOL.

That icecream Deanne promised you is something to look forward too!

Have a lovely day, stay cool,
Hug

We have the worst cable channels and those that play movies, have the same ones every day. It's pathetic! lol Hope you cool down and enjoy your afternoon!

I love the crocheted taxidermy! That's hilarious. (Better than the real thing, I think.)

That sloth family photo was too cute, Edna. We are also having hot temps and staying indoors today hopefully awaiting those rainstorms but right now it's still sunny out with not a dark cloud in sight. Hope that you will find another favorite channel to replace the one no longer there. Also taxidermy in any form is not my cup of tea either.

One good reason for leaving cable is the cost. With a good internet connection you can get a lot of choices for free. Pluto and Tubi have many channels with live and on demand movies and tv shows. You will need a device, Fire Stick, Roku, or Apple TV to access a streaming service. According to where you live an indoor antenna may be a good choice. I live about 30 miles from the nearest city with tv stations and I can get 33 stations with an indoor antenna. I'm in southern middle TN and we have not had the extreme temperatures.

The good news is that the heat helps the tomatoes grow:) I haven't received any books that I didn't order but when magazine subscriptions expire, they still send a few extras trying to get me to renew:) Enjoy your day dear friend and try to stay cool. HUGS!

Love all the shares! That sloth is so cute. I remember the movie Harry and the Henderson. I will take those crocheted taxidermy animals anytime. Enjoy a beautiful weekend.

Stay cool as a cucumber.
