Niagara Falls Under My Kitchen Sink?

August 08, 2010

Oh my, what a gorgeous morning it is today. I do so hope the day goes as well as this morning's temperature. Yesterday, I was feeling pretty chipper. Tootsie and I got to sleep the whole night through without being wakened by the night raiders. This was good.

Aha!! Alas, but all good things must come to an end. Do you really want to hear this? Yesterday morning I was at the kitchen sink and doing up my dishes and humming away. When I finished, I checked to make sure the drain cover was clear so that all the water could run out quickly. So far, so good.

When I stepped away from the sink, I noticed that I had splashed water all over the floor. I've been doing this a bit lately. Seems as though I'm getting a bit sloppy in my old age. Ah, but no! When I knelt down to clean up the water, I could hear what sounded like the Grand Rapids inside the sink cabinet. Now you know I did NOT want to open that cabinet door. But I did.

Yup. You guessed it. It looked sort of like Niagara Falls in there. Water was gushing everywhere. I shut the door quickly and got my brother out to have a look. You know, right about now I think a wicked good cry might help. Of course, it won't, so I won't. Moo agreed that this was indeed a problem we needed help with.

To the rescue!! My son in law, Eddie, quickly came by with all his plumbing equipment; and in a couple of hours all was fixed. Except for the soggy floor in the cabinet. That will have to be replaced later when it has had time to completely dry out. Now, aren't you glad I shared that with you?

How about some pretty photos that Moo took a couple of nights ago. His fascination lies with the ocean and the evening sky. And, I must say that his little camera takes fantastic photos in low lighting. I thought these two photos were especially pretty. The first one looks as though the tide is coming in. I'm not sure.

This next photo is just a pretty shot, I think, of the beach houses reaching out to the sea. I think I would really love to be at one of these houses, just sitting on the porch and enjoying the gorgeous view. Mmmm, sounds heavenly.

On my way home from work this morning, I just had to stop and take a few photos of these beautiful hibiscus. They were poking out from someone's front yard fence, and just begging to have their picture taken. How could I refuse them?

Now I think I shall make myself a nice cup of coffee and play a bit with Tootsie. After that, I believe a short nap is in order. Till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
