Did You Know, Women Are Angels?

December 16, 2009

One day down, nine more to go!! This time of year is very exciting. I think as I grew older, I became much more snoopy than my kids ever were. I love to give a little suspense with a gift, but I am so bad with my own suspenseful gifts. I poke things (gently), wiggle them a bit, maybe even a soft shake or two, all this to figure out what is hidden inside the paper. Just plain naughty!!

You know, it's not the getting of gifts that I enjoy the most about this holiday season, it's the extra love that seems to come from most everyone you meet, and even those persons you have never met. It's the smile on that elderly lady's face, when I showed her how to fix her bag more securely in her shopping cart. Even better when her face glowed when I told her to have a Merry Christmas now. And the old gentleman in front of me at the cash register - he was fishing every pocket to find another quarter, so I gave him one. Such a beautiful smile you never did see! It really doesn't take very much to spread a little love.

Yesterday I got a call from the hospital. It seems that Tootsie has an infection, and the doctor wants her back in for even more blood work. I did something terrible then. I copped an attitude and told the technician on the phone that I was getting really tired of having to live my whole life around running back and forth to the hospital every week, sometimes more often.

The poor girl, it wasn't her fault that I was upset, and I did try to apologize, but I should not have said these things in the first place. Today when we go back to the hospital, I shall have to apologize to the doctor too. They have done so much to keep my Tootsie as well as she can be. I need to take my own advice and be grateful for what I have and what I can do.

This morning is another early morning for Tootsie and me. We got up at 3:45, and stayed up. I made a cup of coffee, and proceeded to finish up my gift wrapping. So now everything is wrapped and under the tree. Finished! Yeah-h-h-h! Now I just have a few more cards to finish addressing, and I can sit back and enjoy the rest of the holiday season.

A few days ago, a friend sent me the cutest little sign that I want to share with you here. When I saw it, I thought "How true!"

Today's freebie will be Parts 3 & 4 of "Hanukkah Joy." I made separate previews of the papers and the elements, so I will show you those today. Right now, I think I shall make another cup of coffee, and maybe clean up all the remnants from the gift wrapping that is all around my bedroom.

Miss Tootsie got a new sweater yesterday, so I will see about taking a new photo of her today. She tends to hide or keep her face down when I have my camera out. Funny, the dwarfs are like that too! Y'all have a fantabulous day now.

Love that little sign ! Specially the bit with the broomstick, lol. So sorry to hear about poor Tootsie. It's understandable that you got like that, you have been through a lot with her. Yeah ,I know what you mean about spreading a little bit of joy as well. PS:be careful with your poking and shaking of the presents! You don't want to break anything, lol.
