T'was A Fun Shopping Trip

June 13, 2021

Good morning.  Tis another gorgeous Spring day today.   Such a wonderful surprise I gor this morning.  I woke up at 4:50 a.m. and it was daylight outside!  In seven more days, on June 20th, it will be the longest day of this year.

Yesterday, Deanne and Eddie and I went shopping at Ocean State Job Lot.  It felt good to leisurely wander around the aisles and see all the goodies.  Of course, I can only wander for a short while and then my back and legs tend to give out.  But I'm happy for the wandering that I do get.

When we got home, the first thing I did was to get back into my jammies and under the covers for a nap.  I'm finding that I can't "take a licking and keep on ticking" anymore.  I think that phrase came from an old ad for Timex watches.

Do you remember who made the commercials?  It was John Cameron Swayze, and it was he who made the line "takes a licking and keeps on ticking" so famous.  He died August 17, 1995.

While wandering around on the web the other day, I came across this fascinating image.  It shows how much money you need to earn in order to be able to buy a house in each of our states.  I was surprised to learn that my state (MA) was one of the most expensive states.  Click on the picture to make it large enough to read the numbers.

I managed to put a few more rows on my crochet projects, and today I'll add a few more rows to each of them.  I also need to make a grocery order to be delivered early this week.  Maybe tomorrow I'll make a meat sauce.  After that, well, we'll see how things go.

Here are photos of my Knock Out Roses.

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Glad you enjoyed the shopping trip, even if it was a bit exhausting. May be it's an idea to think of a dual function rollator/wheelchair. when you cannot walk anymore, you can be pushed in the chair!

And it was a great idea to have a nice nap after you came home.

Did you find anything good during the shopping trip?

Have a relaxed day, enjoy some time on the porch.
Sending a big hug

That IS an interesting graphic about home sales. I have a feeling Florida's average is inflated by all the expensive waterfront property. I bet a person could have a significantly lower salary and afford a house away from the coast.

Glad you got out for some shopping and wandering!

I do remember those old Timex commercials, but I had to look up John Cameron Swayze. I wonder if he was related to Patrick Swayze?

Oh my gosh... it does take a lot of income per year to buy a house in your state!

Beautiful roses! It is good you get to get out and go shopping. I use to love it. Now with the hot weather I can leave it and let amaxon come to my door. heeheehee
Oh Holy Smokes housing here is out of sight. Way overpriced. My brick house is valued at over $400k and trust me when that market crashes people are going to cry! Sure glad we do not owe that much! YIKES!
My cousin moved here from California. That is not much better. They sold their house for nearly $500k a three bedroom house! It is a huge market but once is crashes tears will be shed.
I love how you find these fun facts and share them. I hope you are having a terrifiic week and great day.

Glad you were able to get out for a shopping trip and maybe found something as well, Edna? I smiled when you mentioned tJohn Cameron Swayze and the Timex tagline because I am wearing a Timex now and not any "smart watch." ALl this one does is tell time and date with no talking back at all!
