Big Beautiful Blooms

June 14, 2021

Good morning.  It must have rained a speck in the wee hours because there are wet spots on my car.  Plus there's a puddle out front at the end of the driveway.  We could use a little rain.

The question has been asked "Is John Cameron Swayze related to Patrick Swayze?"  The answer is yes, they were sixth cousins once removed.  Hmmm, I wonder if they knew this.  (info supplied by Google)

Today I thought I'd share photos of my peonies.  They are big and beautiful.  The pale pink ones will be huge once all the petals open up.

I had a busy crochet day yesterday.  First I finished the yellow baby blanket.  Then I put several more rows on each of the pocket wraps.  I would have started the new baby blanket, but I haven't decided on which pattern to use.  Most of the time, I use a chevron pattern.  I tend to like that one the best.  Today I'll look over some of my patterns and decide.

It's getting rather gray outside my door so maybe we have more rain coming?  Hmmm, today might be a good day to make a meat sauce and a pot of pasta.  And maybe some garlic bread?  Oh yum!

I didn't spend much time on the computer yesterday so I have some catching up to do with my blog reading today.  So now I'm going to make a cup of coffee and settle in for some fun reading.  Till tomorrow, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Your flowers are beautiful. Mine have all done well until the heat wave came in last week. I read you blog almost every day, but failed to leave comments. I will soon be 92 and do not do as much as I used to.

I just wrote on another blog that we planned to make a big pot of sauce today, to have for dinner and to freeze for other meals. What beautiful big blooms!

We have a peony VERY similar to your dark pink one. I think it might even be exactly the same. Ours hasn't bloomed yet -- when it does we'll compare photos!

Hoping you are enjoying the pasta. I keep saying I will cut back on carbs but it is hard. I ate leftover mac n cheese for lunch with some peas. It is my favorite thing to mix together. ITs very hot so I don't eat quite as much as I can when the weather is cold.
Always fun to learn facts like Patrick and John Cameron were related! We watch Leave it to Beaver. It is interesting because in real life Jerry Mathers (the Beaver) and Ward (Hugh Beaumont) were close. Mathers said he was a good second role model. His mom celebrated 94 years at her birthday. Wow! She looks terrific. Tony Dow (Wally) nd his wife lived next door to Barbara Billingsley (June). Tony is also a scupltor. Barbara had one of his creations in her backyard. I love those fun facts! :-)
Enjoy your week.

Those are definitely big and colorful blooms, Edna. We also had rain here in Nashua, but it was overnight. Now you have me thinking that I haven't made pasta and sauce in awhile, so it may be on the dinner menu soon.
