Rain, Rain, We're Glad To See You

July 12, 2019

Good morning.  Well, the rain finally got here.  It poured during the wee hours, and now it's just a very light rain.  All the big puddles are back, so I guess all the birds and critters will be happy and  taking baths today.  According to my phone app, temps should get up into the mid eighties and we should have rain all day.

DIL Janet caught a cold and did not want to pass it along to me, so she did not come by last evening.  I had promised myself that turkey sub sandwich for supper, so I called and ordered it.  Oh my, it was simply delicious!  I got a large one, and only ate half of it.  Later, I had the other half for my evening snack.  Yum!

I have no plans for today.  First, I do have some dishes to wash.  Then maybe I'll put in a load of laundry to wash.  I have junk mail to go through or maybe I'll crochet for a while.  That's about it for my plans today.

Oh goody!  It's time for the Match Game to come on.  These are re-runs of the original program and I really enjoy watching them.  It's a fun program, and it is clean!  I used to enjoy watching Family Feud, but since Steve Harvey started hosting it, it is no longer a family program.

It is now more geared to questions that have to be answered with descriptive names for sex and body parts.  Some of the contestants are teenagers still in school, or even church pastors.  The questions are very inappropriate, and not funny or enjoyable at all.  Okay, so I'm an old poop.  Actually, I'm not, but I do find this particular program offensive.

Today I want to share a recipe that I found on Facebook.  I forget who posted it, but it sounds so delicious, and it looks easy to make.  Sorry, the top three ingredients are repeated.  My bad.

If you decide to make it, let me know how it comes out and if you enjoyed it.  I tried another similar recipe which I did not enjoy, but this one sounds pretty good.

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Totally agree with you on these TV shows. I do not watch tv much anymore. I do enjoy Wheel of Fortune, but someone said it was rigged too.

It's hot as ever here and no rain insight. Louisiana (our neighbor) is flooding due to the tropical storm that's headed our way. We might not get it and it's a blessing. That recipe look good and I just might try it. Yesterday I had a taste for banana pudding and I made one. I also did the shrimp etoufe' and rice. I will be eating on those dishes today. That turkey sandwich sure did sound good. Some days my taste buds are so weird and some days I doesn't have any. You and Pogo have a great weekend.

Yep I do know this recipe or most of it. We also dice a bell pepper (sweet green pepper) and we use a small can of tomato sauce and instead of garlic salt we use garlic powder or real garlic. And since we like beans we throw in a can of pinto or kidney beans. We use a brand called Ranch Style but not sure that you can get that where you are.

I did not get lucky. The loss of my internet and electrical today cost me my blog post. It is just too late right now for me to start over. I will do it later tonight if I get my second wind or wait and do it in the morning.
It is such a shame that cyber space ate it but it does happen to the best of us.

I am very happy that you had rain and that the plants, birds and critters will enjoy it. It is very hot here. It is 97 degrees with 59% humidity. Not a good day at all. There is no breeze. Just hot and sticky.

I will talk to you later on or tomorrow. I am really feeling super tired. Maybe I will go to sleep early tonight.
Hugs and Kisses and Cuddles to my sweet Pogo and Edna Big and Gentle Hugs to you too. Get some good rest tonight... I love you! xxx Beth

Your photos are absolutely gorgeous! You have a real talent for it (and the patience).
Sorry to hear you have trouble with your breathing and that the concentrator doesn;t seem to do good woprk. Hopefully you will get the newer one soon and that it will work much better.
Oh, we also have some shows here I just don't like to watch. Not always because of the bad language, but also because they are so stupid. Entertainment is good, but it can do with some quality.
Good we still have some other programmes that are nice to watch.
It is frustrating that we notice that with advancing years our body and condition are slowing down. I have only 66 years but already notice that I have less energy and that some things are much more difficult to do, we get quicker tired etc. It is something we will have to accept but it isn;t always easy, because we know how we were when we were e.g. 30 years younger and what we were able to do in a day's time!!!
Still good there was some rain to freshen nature up a bit. I hope you didn;t get the trouble there was in other parts of the USA, as I saw on the news!
Stay safe dear friend, take care of yourself and have an awesome week ahead!
Hugs
Kyra

I hope Janet feels better. That recipe looks like a delicious one to make. Thanks for sharing. Enjoy your evening. Hugs
