A Beautiful Day For A Journey

July 11, 2019

Good morning.  It's overcast today and the temperature is at 78F degrees.  Oops, I spoke too soon.  Now the sun is shining.  For a moment.  temps should get up to about 84F degrees and then it is supposed to rain all afternoon.  At least that's what my phone app says.  We could certainly use a bit of rain.

Hmm, there's that perky sun again.  There's even a nice little breeze.  With the sun going in and out, it's actually quite nice.  Not too warm, not too cool.  Maybe Pogo and I can sit out on the porch for a little while today.  So far, today is a better day for me than yesterday was.

We just came in from the porch.  Deanne called me to come out to watch the funeral procession go by.  My goodness, such a long procession.  Frank (her friend's Dad) was well loved by a lot of folks.

This idea of sending Christmas gifts out throughout the year is rather fun.  And so far, the packages are a rather nice surprise for the recipients.  The phone calls that I get when someone receives a package is such fun.  It brightens up their day and it makes my day super fun.

Today I have some photos that I took of some flies that were on my plants.  They have the head of a fly and the body of a green mosquito.  I have no idea what they are.  But if it will sit long enough, I'll take its photo.  hahaha.

My tomato plants are growing slowly, but no flowers or tomatoes yet.  Hmmm, maybe by September?   I guess I'm just not the gardener I used to be.  When I was younger, I could grow most anything.  Then something awful happened to my green thumb.

Deanne says she might be coming by tomorrow.  I may ask her to take me to the Dollar Store so that I can get some new Find A Word puzzle books.  I only have a few puzzles left in the book I'm working on.  I do these puzzles to relax, plus they help to keep my brain working good.

Yesterday, I called the company that supplies my oxygen and asked them to take this old concentrator away and give me a newer one.  I told them how hot it gets and that the oxygen seems to be weaker than it should be.  They said they could not help me because they had no more concentrators.  I told them  that if they could not help me I was going to call my insurance company to ask if I could get a different supplier.

About ten minutes later they called me back and said that they have new concentrators coming in on the 15th of this month and that they would give me one of them.  I said okay.  So now I'll just wait and see what next week brings.  If they don't call me by the 16th, I'll call the insurance company.

I've been hankering for a turkey sub sandwich lately.  DIL Janet is supposed to be coming by later after work.  Whether or not she comes by, I do think I'm going to order that sub for my supper.  I can almost taste it now.  Mmmm. mmm, mmm!

On that happy note, I'll take my leave.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

So it sounds as if you might get a replacement for your oxygen machine in a few days, which will help tremendously for you !
Those little critters have the most beautiful green colors, iridescent, and striking.
Hope you have a wonderful week Ms. Edna :)

That is a weird looking fly and I've never seen one like that before. It's a pretty fly. It so hot here I tried to sit outside and had to come in. The heat and sun is beaming. I did go out this morning to get more water and a few items. We're still not sure if the hurricane is going to come after us. I just hunker down and pray.

Don't give up on your gardening because not too many of us had good luck with our garden this Spring. It's just not a good growing season for anything this year. It makes you frustrated, but I said I will cut back on my garden space but I will still try to plant some veggies for as long as I can. Hope you and Pogo have a great day
