It's A Goosey Nice Day

December 3, 2012

Good morning.  We had a gorgeous day yesterday, all things considered.  Nothing was falling from the sky and the temps were in the mid 50's.  Yup, a good day.  Today is supposed to be nice too.  Right now (6:05 a.m.) it is 47 degrees F, and should get up to about 52 degrees later on.

Hopefully the last of my packages will arrive today so that I can finish up my wrapping and get my boxes into the mail.  I've already sent out some cards, and today I'll mail the rest of them.  We've already put up the Christmas tree in the house.  Two of the dwarfs spent part of the afternoon setting it up and putting on the decorations.

As soon as I finish up my wrapping, I can put things away and get my little tree set up.  It's beginning to look like Christmas!  So many of the houses around here have already turned on their outdoor lights.  It looks so pretty.

Today I dug into my photo files from last April for a couple of photos for Mandarin Orange Monday.  I took these photos in the even when the sun was starting to go down.  It cast a lovely orange glow over the baby geese. (goslings?)

Today, I have to go out and do a couple of errands.  I need to buy a frame and mat for one of my pictures, and I want to take advantage of "Seniors Day" at Walgreens.  I think this is the first time they have had a senior day.

Later, I want to work a bit more on our December collab kit.  We'll begin posting it next Monday.  Gosh, I need a few more hours in each day to get to all the things I want to finish.   Not going to happen though, huh?

Well, the sky is beginning to lighten up, and it's time to check on the Mrs again.  Then I will be packing up my things and heading on home to my little Pogo.  That's the funnest part of the day.  Walking through the door and having him come running and jumping into my arms.  Sigh.... So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Your goslings are darling and your pictures are awesome. Love the drops of water on the second one.

Thank you for the nice comment on my angels and my little Maggie. I went to publish it and clicked something wrong and it disappeared so it won't appear on my blog ... but I did get to read it first. Sorry:(

I am hoping I will get my Christmas Cards back from the printer soon. They were putting in a new color system, so it is taking longer than usual. But, hopefully , my cards will benefit from the new system.

We have to wait for my son to come over to help us get our tree up from the basement. He has been working long hours so I don't know when that is going to happen. We do have lights up outside though. I love the outside lights because I can see better when I have Izzi out ... it is hard to scoop when it is dark and there are leaves on the ground. You can't tell if you missed something until you step in it, ugh!

I am working on making a book from my Whooping Crane pictures. I want to get it done before Christmas so I can give it to my friend who went up there with me ... I took a lot of pictures and it is hard to cull down to a reasonable number. Once I have that all figured out it shouldn't take long to put it together. I will be using some of the scrap book pieces I downloaded from you ... thanks again :)

My daughter's friend just came and picked her up to go shopping. I am so pleased. She doesn't get out very often except with me which, you know how it is when you have to do everything with your mother. So this is a good day for her.

Better get back to work. Hope your beautiful weather holds up. Ours is due to end by Wednesday ... back into the low 30's, sigh. I would rather have snow if it is going to be cold. Izzi loves playing in the snow and it is always more cheery and beautiful out when it snows. Well, you have a wonderful day, Edna ...

The shopping part is done except for little things that pop up here and there for David's stocking. My Secret Santa gift is wrapped and in the mail, but nothing else is wrapped. Need to start working on that!

I love the photo of the single gosling where you can see the water drops; beautiful!

Gotta get back to my truffles now!

Hugs, Nani

These are beautiful photos. In the first one, the water looks so lustrous - even a bit like shiny fabric or metal? And i like the grey against the lovely golden fluffy - baby geese :)

As for Christmas - I really should get some wrapping started- I meant to last week! But I don't have to post anything...so I have some time. I bet I do it on Christmas eve again!
Thanks for taking part in Mandarin Orange Monday:)

Those ducklings are just darling! I love the way you captured the water droplets on the last one, it really added a mood and a story element to the photo.
