Sunshine And Irises

May 18, 2021

Good morning.  Goodness, I slept late today.  The sun is shining, there are clouds rolling by, and the temperature is 73F degrees.  Nice!  It feels like a porch day.

Here's a photo of my pretty yellow irises.  It makes the heart happy just looking at them.

A few days ago, Deanne was driving through the park and took a pretty photo of the waterfall.  I was going to post it here, but first it needed to be resized.  This is a beautiful spot and lots of folks come here.

Sad to say, just a couple days later two young boys drowned here.  They had been skipping stones on the water and must have fallen in.  Divers were called in to try to find the boys.  I'm not sure how deep the water is here, but the boys were found ten to twelve feet below the water.  According to news clippings, there was a third boy found and taken to a nearby hospital.  I don't have any more information about this boy.

There is no way to go from this awful news to a cheery topic, so I'll stop right here and save my pics and news for tomorrow.  Till then, stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Your irisses are beautiful. But what an aweful news of that beautiful place in the park. Kids often don;t see danger when having fun.

Glad you did sleep longer today, and if the temperatures is as nice as you say, the porch will be a good place to be for you.
Have a warm and lovely day.
Hugs
Kyra

Oh what a sad sad story about the boys. It is as Kyra says, hard to see the danger when they are just trying to have fun. I hope that the third boy will be alright. I am so very sorry for these families and loved ones.

Your iris's are very beautiful. Sunday Courtney and I were passing by a house where the front was filled with tall beautiful deep blue and purple iris's. I could get use to looking at that scene every day but as you said, they don't last all that long but they are sure pretty and I love the color of yellow as it reminds me of sunshine.

Have a awesome day and I do hope that you get some lovely porch time. Hugs xoxoxo

That is a sad story of the two young boys. Such a loss. Your yellow irises are lovely. I just noticed that one of my irises looks like it will bloom sometime later this week.

The flowers were lovely to see, Edna, and such a sad story about the loss of two young lives.
