Warmer Temps Are Finally Here

May 16, 2021

Good morning.  Today is going to be another nice day.  Yesterday was warm and sunny, and I spent hours out on the porch.  My phone app says we're going to be getting rain starting mid afternoon.   And more tomorrow.

Yesterday I noticed that my yellow irises are starting to bloom.  I'll have to take a photo today to share.  The new columbine plant is getting ready to bloom too.  Deanne was here the other day, re-potting plants and making sure everything looked really pretty.  Our new garden birds came.  Here's a photo of my blue Heron.

I have a couple pink flamingoes in one of the little gardens, and I think we're going to move them over here near the heron.  I really like seeing the birds near my porch.  It sort of makes it feel a bit tropical.

My little mosquito plant is not looking very good.  When it arrived in the mail, it was in pretty bad shape.  I've picked the dead leaves off, so now it is just a stem trying to become something.  Here's a photo before I plucked all the dead stuff off it.

It's looking cloudy outside, so I guess that rain is really coming our way.  Well, my car is covered with green from all the new leaves so I'm hoping that the rain gives my car a good washing.   That's the only downfall from having so many trees.  When all the little leaf seed pods start opening, everything gets a green coating.

My plans for today don't include much other than doing a bit of crocheting.  Both of the wraps that I'm working on have less than twenty rows to go till it's time to start making the pockets.  When they are finished, I'll see if Deanne will model them so that I can take photos.

Well, that's about all my news for today.  So, till next time, Y'all stay safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Oh my. I hope your mosquito plant bounces back! I haven't had great luck with some of the plants we've ordered by mail either. I always think they look traumatized when they finally arrive!

Oh I really love the garden birds and I am sorry that your mosquito plant is not looking very healthy. Maybe if you can get another one and pot them together the healthy one might help the one that needs a little additional help. I don't know, just a random thought popping up.

We had rain yesterday all day off and on and it was cold. 47 degrees and last night dropped down to 40 with a brisk wind. The house is hot to me and I tossed and turned most of the night even with the window open and the fan blowing on me. Not to mention I haven't been able to keep anything down.

I will try to call you tomorrow... Hugs xoxoxoxo

Hi Edna,
Love your blue herron!.. he's pretty.. I have a plant here I bought at a nursery It's called a oink polka dot and it was, notice I say, was so pretty and I don't know what happened.. Well I know sort of what happens. Good gosh if it needs special care I should know better than to buy one..

This plant doesn't like cold, heat or sun. So what do I do? Twice I moved it to places where there was an AC vent and dint' realize it until yesterday when I looked at this poor pathetic thing and wondered what was wrong with it. So I took off all the dead leaves which is most of it and placed it in the middle of my dining room table where there's no AC vent and it gets daylight but not direct sunlight.

I'm pretty much begging it to stay alive at this point..LOL
