How Does My Garden Grow

June 30, 2019

Good morning.  Wow!  Where has this month of June gone?  The months aren't just flying by anymore.  They are FLYING BY!  It's amazing how the only months that seem to linger are the cold wintry months.

It's lovely here this morning.  The sun is shining and temps are in the seventies.  By noon it will hit eighty degrees, and then back down into the seventies.  A simply beautiful day.

Friday I took a walk around to the other side of the  house to take some photos of whatever might be blooming.  There are pink and red roses in bloom, and soon there will be a lot of lilies blossoming.  My lilies grow so tall!   That's a six foot tall fence.

The little Japanese Red Maple tree is also growing.  I was so afraid it wouldn't make it through the winters here but it is doing just fine.

These are the pink Knock Out roses, and the red Knock Out roses.

My Rhododendrons did not do so good this year.  Ah well, neither did any of my Spring flowers.  Maybe next year they'll do better.  At least the lilies and the roses will show some beautiful colors.

This morning I think I'm going to take my coffee and my little laptop out to the porch and do some blog reading.  After that, I think I'll try to make some quick pages.  I haven't had the chance to work on them in a while.

Now that I've stocked up on laundry detergent, I think I should do some laundry.  Ajax is the only one so far that does not make my skin itch and I can only find it in a couple stores.   So now I have five bottles of it on my pantry shelf.

Ah well, the laundry can wait a couple hours.  It's time for me and Pogo to head for the porch.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day

What A Gorgeous Morning!

June 28, 2019

Good morning.  Tis a beautiful morning here in New England.  At least for now.  Pretty soon it will be too hot to sit outside.  It will be close to ninety degrees by early afternoon.  That's okay though.  Pogo and I can sit out on the porch at least until then.

What a surprise I got this morning when the electric company showed up to shut off the power to my house.  They thought the gutters were being done today.  What????  I put in a call to the gutter company to tell them and they said they would get back to me.  So far no one has called me back, but the electric company guys did leave a while ago.

Yesterday afternoon, Deanne came by for a visit.  Then in the evening, DIL Janet came by.  What a great day this turned out to be.  I love it when my girls come by.  Obviously Pogo loves it too.  He's definitely a ladies man.

Did you know that by leaving a tray of fresh coffee grounds in the refrigerator, it will get rid of any bad smells?  Yup!  The coffee  grounds neutralize any smells.  Wowsie, I did not know that!  I just heard that on the TV Program "Common Sense."

I have some wonderful news to share.  Our Jazzy has been invited to the West Point Military Academy Ball, a very prestigious and formal event.  Her lifelong friend Cole is a cadet there.  (they met first in kindergarten and have been friends ever since)   The ball is July 26, and we are all very excited for her.

Oh my goodness!  Pogo's new bed just came in the mail.  Wow, I think he likes it!  I will have to take some photos and post one here on Sunday.  No matter where he flops in it, it is just so comfy!

I found this image on the web and had to borrow it to share here.  This is me to a tee!  Every one of these items applies to me!  How about you?

I found another cute image that speaks a lot about my days.  I imagine it refers to a lot of us from time to time.

Now I think Pogo and I will go out to the porch for a while before it gets too hot.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

The Summer Heat Is Here

June 27, 2019

Good morning.  The sun is shining, there's a teeny tiny breeze, and the temps are working their way up to the low nineties by early afternoon.  Today will be a scorcher.

Yesterday, Pogo and I went shopping and we had a wonderful time.  He is such a good little guy, and folks love him.  He sits quietly in the basket and looks at everything.  Every now and then, someone stops to pet him, so he's in his glory.

I got some bird seed, and a new wind chime.  This one is a humming bird.  I'll have to take a photo of it to share.  When the wind blows, my porch is filled with tinkling music. Between that and all the dancing solar thingees, my little porch is a happy place.  Pogo and I are heading out there as soon as I finish this post.

Today I thought I would share a photo of my gorgeous (?) tomato plants.  I'm expecting maybe a tomato by September.   I have another tomato plant, but it is only about four inches tall.

I think this will be the last year that I try to grow any veggies.  I should probably stick to flowers.  I have a better chance of having something growing to its full size.  I'm talking about potted plants.  I don't seem to have much luck with seeds.

I'm going to check the schedule at the local college to see if they will be having any classes on digital photography and Photoshop.  If they do, I'd like to take a class.  I figure it will be a good way to learn how to use the new Photoshop cloud on my new laptop.  Meanwhile, I'll just plod along with my self help book.

Today I have two more Dover coloring sheets for you.  These feature bees and butterflies, rather appropriate for this time of year.  Have fun with them.

That's about all my news for today.  I think Pogo and I are going to sit out on the porch for a while before it gets too hot.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

A Few Fun Facts

June 26, 2019

Good morning.  The sun keeps trying to poke its face out but the gray clouds are making it difficult.  Temps will be in the high seventies today.  A very comfy day indeed.

I'm working on gathering enough energy to go shopping for bird seed.  We're running low, and I don't like to run out.  Plus, it's been a while since Pogo has been out shopping and he is looking forward to seeing everybody at the store.

Audrey sent me a photo of her and her two grandchildren.  They all were together over this past weekend, and everyone had a fabulous time.  Awesome photo, Audrey.

Do you love macaroni and cheese?  Well, it seems that a good portion of the world's population loves it.  In fact, in Canada, Kraft's boxed mac and cheese is the unofficial national dish.  Per capita, Canadians eat more of it than Americans do.

Another tasty fact:  Thomas Jefferson tried macaroni in France and loved it so much that he imported a pasta machine and parmesan cheese from Italy.  He served his version of "macaroni pie" at the White House in 1802, and his handwritten recipe for macaroni is at the Library of Congress.

Aren't you glad you popped in here today?  I love passing all these little known facts on to everybody.  Ever wonder why a  book of maps is called an Atlas?  It's because the earliest books of maps had a picture of Atlas holding the world on his back on the cover.

I found this adorable image on the web and just had to share it here.  I just love how animals always take care of each other.  We can learn a lot from our animals.

I just realized that today is Wednesday.  Now I'm wondering where Tuesday went.  Time seems to be slipping by me a bit too quickly some days.  However, it does explain how I missed my Tuesday program on TV.  Gee, and I was looking forward to watching them tonight.

I just got a message that the new gutters are going on next Wednesday.  That means that the electric company will be here to shut off the power to the house for several hours.  Hopefully, it will only be for three or four hours.

I've been watching the Weather Channel and it says that a large portion of the country is going to be having sweltering temperatures.  Folks, please think of your animals.  They can't survive any better in that heat than we can.

Also, before walking your dogs, test the ground with your bare skin.  If it's too hot to keep your bare skin on the sidewalks and streets, then it is way too hot for the pads on your doggies feet.  They will burn.  Please take notice of this.

Now I'm going to get dressed and hopefully set out to do a bit of shopping with Pogo.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

A Bit Of Photo OverLoad

June 25, 2019

Good morning.  I've been up a while but I've been busy downloading photos and cropping them.  My little laptop is as slow as cold molasses.  Little by little, I'm being forced to use my new laptop.  I've been trying to hold out as long as I can, but I guess the time has come.   Sighhhhhh.......

Today I have photos from the other day to share.  I love watching the birds and little critters.  Nature is pretty awesome.  This is probably photo overload, but enjoy.

Today started out sunny, but now the clouds are moving in.  My weather app says we have rain coming for most of the day.  After that we have some rather warm temps moving in.  Oh yuk!  I will have to start doing my errands very early in the morning.  Well, as soon as the stores open.  Pogo won't mind, but I'm not usually very energetic that early in the day.  Time to put my big girl panties on.

As I look out my door, I'm watching the man across the street weeding his garden and getting it ready for planting.  They plant their veggies along the side of one of their driveways, from the sidewalk in.  For some reason, their garden grows rather well.

My two little tomato plants are holding their own.  They are slow growing.  By the time they get ready to make tomatoes, it will be Fall.  Hmmm, is this a bit of Murphy's Law?  I use to be able to grow just about anything, but my green thumb has died.  Now I can kill a plant faster than anyone.

Yesterday I bought a bowl of watermelon chunks.  I thought that Pogo might like them.   However, after giving them a sniff, he turned his nose up.  Hmpf!  Oh well, more for me!  I wanted to buy the big watermelon, but it was too heavy for me to lift.  The chunks are sooo delicious.  (and already more than half gone!)

Now I think I'll make us something to eat before I start doing a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

READ YOUR BARCODES

June 24, 2019

Good afternoon.  Yup, I'm posting late today because I decided to do my banking and grocery shopping early in the morning before it got too hot for me to be outside.  Now I'm home and all the groceries are put away.

I went to a different market today.  Shaw's Market is next to the bank so I thought I would give them a try.  Wowsie!  Everything cost so much more than it does at WalMart.  Items that I pay $2.00 and $2.29  for at WalMart cost $3.99 and $4.29 at Shaw's.  A six pack of toilet tissue at Shaws is $14,99.  I doubt I'll be shopping there again anytime soon.

Today I thought I would share something that my friend Rhoda sent to me.  It's about why we should always read the labels on the foods that we buy.  No matter what the front of the box or package says, turn it over and read the back -- carefully.

With all the food and pet products now coming from China, it is best to make sure you read the label at the grocery store and especially at WalMart when buying food products.  Many pruducts no longer show where they were made, only give where the distributor is located.  It is important to read the bar code to track its origin.

How to read Bar Codes.....interesting!  This may be useful to know when grocery shopping, if it's a concern to you.   It's a great way to "buy USA & CANADA"  and not from CHINA.  Can you tell which products are made in Taiwan or China?  If the first three digits of the barcode are 690, 691 or 692, the product is made in CHINA.   471 is made in Taiwan.

It is our right to know, but the government and related departments never educate the public, therefore we have ro rescue ourselves.  Chinese businessmen know that consumers do not preder food products "MADE IN CHINA" so they don't show the country from which it is made.  However, you may now refer to the barcode -- remember if the first three digits are:

690 - 692 .....it is made in CHINA

00 - 09 .....it is made in USA & CANADA

30 - 37 .....it is made in FRANCE

40 - 44 .....it is made in GERMANY

471 .....it is made in TAIWAN

49 .....it is made in JAPAN

50 .....it is made in UK

Buy USA & CANADIAN MADE by watching for "0" at the beginning of the number.  We need every boost we can get, so pass this on to your family and friends.

Now I need to find something tasty to feed Pogo for lunch.  (and me too!)  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

p.s. If anyone had trouble downloading the QP last Wednesday, I have fixed the link so you can try again if you want the QP.

It's Already Summer!

June 23, 2019

Good morning.  Tis sunny with temps in the sixties, and in a couple hours temps will make it into the high seventies.  Woo Hoo!  My kind of day.  Tomorrow should be nice too.  Did I mention that it's already Sumer?

I just went outside to take some photos of the birds and small critters over by the bird feeder.  It's such fun watching them.  We have about five young Blue Jays, a couple young Mourning Doves,  two little Sparrows, two Black Birds, one tiny chipmunk and a half dozen squirrels over there right now.

Well, yesterday I did a stupid thing.  I had closed my little laptop to chat on the phone for a bit.  When I got off the phone, without thinking I unplugged my exterior drive from the laptop.  I mistakenly thought that I had shut off the laptop.  OOPS!  Well, this corrupted a couple of scrap kits that I was using to make new quick pages, and the pages too!  It also corrupted several other files.  This is definitely not my year for the computer.

So now I decided to do a scan on the exterior drive to make sure everything else was okay.  This was mid-afternoon.  At eleven last night, it still wasn't finished scanning (it's slow!) so I unplugged it and called it a night.  Alas, there is no new quick page for today.  I'll try to make a new one for tomorrow.

This weekend Audrey and Mac have been spending some fun quality time with their two grandchildren, Zach (10) and Alena (6). They went fishing, and in this photo Zack is helping Alena with the fish she just caught.  Afterwards, Zach was helping Alena learn how to swim.

Meanwhile, Jazzy has been having so much fun with her new kittten, Pickles.  Deanne sent me this photo of one of Pickles' new hiding places.  Kittens are just so adorable.

Well, the fellow from the gutter company came by yesterday to check out my house and give me an estimate for new gutters.  He took lots of photos, and boy oh boy, do I really need new gutters!  I knew it was going to be an expensive job, and I was right.  We spent a few hours discussing the whole situation, and I ended up using all my spending money and then some for next fifteen years or more.  Ah, but I'll have awesome gutters!

Here's a picture of my new book "Lincoln And The Irish."  Well, I finished reading it, and I must say that Mary Todd Lincoln was a really mean person.  Lincoln was quite the remarkable man, and I found the book very interesting.  I recommend this book to anyone who is interested in the scenes behind history.

Now I'm going to refresh my cup of coffee and head for the porch.  Photoshop isn't working so good in my regular laptop, but it is working in my little laptop so hopefully I can make a new quick page.  We'll see.

So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

A Fantastic Weekend Coming

June 21, 2019

Good morning.  Tis gray and damp outside my door today, and it's supposed to rain again all day.  Tomorrow, though, the sun should be shining brightly all day.  Actually, it's supposed to be sunny for at least three days in a row.  Woo Hoo!  A fantastic weekend ahead for us!!!

First, I've been told that the link to the Angels Watching QP did not work, so today I made a brand new link.  Again, if there is a problem with it, please let me know.

http://www.mediafire.com/file/nbqzvq81q5ao48a/EB_-_Angels_Watching_QP_2012.zip/file

Yesterday I caught up on my naps.  Yup, a real busy day!  hahaha.  I'm pretty sure it must be the rainy days that depletes me of my energy.  One gray day isn't too bad, but so many in a row tends to leave me feeling gray too.  I imagine this happens to a lot of folks everywhere.

Today, Deanne and Eddie will be coming by to install my new air conditioner.  It gets rather warm and stuffy in here at night, making it difficult to sleep.  This new air conditioner will help tremendously to make it more comfortable.

One of my favorite TV Game shows has just come on TV.  It's called "Common Knowledge."  It's a fun show, and I learn so many things.  Did you know that if you don't have a knife sharpener, you can turn a ceramic mug upside down and sharpen your knife on it?  Hmm, I learn something new every day.

Daughter Audrey bought a new Biscuit cookbook, and is sharing these recipes with us for Biscuit Doughnuts and Resurrection Biscuits.  If you click on these images and still cannot read them, let me know and I'll retype them.  Audrey has cooked both of these and says that they are delicious!

Yesterday, the mail carrier brought me a new book that I had ordered.  I'll take a photo of it and tell you more about it on Sunday.  It's called "Lincoln And The Irish" and tells how the Irish helped Abraham Lincoln save the Union.  It sounds super interesting.

Tomorrow, someone will be coming by to look over the outside of the house and give me an estimate to put gutters all around the house.  If the price is feasible, this could be my big project for the house this year.  We'll see.

Now I'm off to wash the dishes and maybe do a load of laundry.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

Hugs, Edna B.

Happy Birthday Gary Jr.

June 20, 2019

Good morning.  It's not quite six o'clock, but I'm awake so I guess it's time to get up and start this new day.  Temps are in the sixties, and probably won't make it past the low seventies today.  We are expecting rain this afternoon.

Today is my son Gary Jr's birthday.  He lives in Florida, so I don't get to see him very often.  I do hope his special day is filled with sunshine and happiness.  I love you son.

Yesterday I didn't do very much, but I did pay some bills.  I thought I might do a jig saw puzzle, but then I must have hit a wrong button because my puzzle program disappeared from my laptop.  Well, that did it.  I shut off the laptop and that was it for the rest of the day.

I just tried to re-install the game and it did not install completely.  So I still can't do my puzzles.  This does not make me very happy.  Actually, it tends to bring on the grouchies.  These puzzles were very calming for me.

Today I have photos of some of my blossoms.  The first photo is my "Mint Julep" rose.  It's such a happy little blossom.

I'm not making any specific plans for today because things change so quickly.  Whatever I get to do, I'll do.   It's beginning to get too warm in my apartment and that slows down any energy that I may have.   Soon, though, my new air conditioner will get installed and that should make it much more comfortable here.

I have a couple bags full of new junk mail, so I think maybe I'll take them out to the porch and go through it all.  Today I think I'll look up some information on shredding companies who come to your house and see if they are affordable.

Working with Chrome installed in this laptop is really weird.  It has changed the looks of everything.  Fonts all look tiny, and pictures and spaces looked like they are stretched out sideways.  Icon sizes are different too.  I can just imagine what it will do to my new laptop.  Nothing, I hope.

Now I think I'll go make a fresh cup of coffee and see about starting this new day.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Yea-a-a-a! I Made My New Blog Book!

June 19, 2019

Good morning.  Tis a gray day here in New England with temps in the sixties.  Soon though, the temps will rise to close to eighty degrees.  When I finish this post, I think I'll go sit on the porch and crochet for a while.  It's supposed to rain but it doesn't come into the porch where I sit.

Well, the title of this post says it all.  Yesterday, I installed Firefox in my little travel laptop and tried to make my blog book.  Nope, nope, nope!  I finally found my way to the help page of the Blog2Print site and asked for a help chat.

After me trying to get in to the site one last time, the chat person gave me a link to go to where I could make and order my blog book.  He stayed on the line with me the whole time.  Once my book was made, I barely proof read it.  I ordered it and payed for it so that nothing could go wrong.  Here are the photos I'm using for the front and back covers of the new book.

I am so happy and glad that my blog book is ordered.  Now I'm going to have to find out what is wrong with my laptops before it's time to make the next book.  My daughter Audrey has a new laptop with Windows 10, and she downloaded Chrome to it.  She says she'll help me do this to my new laptop.

Folks, if you are going to be needing a new PC with Windows 10, don't let my problems with it scare you from getting it.  Half of my problem is that I don't like change when something is working good.  The other half is something else.  I'm not sure what, but I'll keep at it until I figure things out.

If you have children or grandchildren, I'm sure they'll be more than happy to help you with the new Windows.  Once I figure it all out, I'll be more than glad to help any of you.  I've got a lot of help and wonderful suggestions from my readers, and I thank all of them.

This past weekend, my daughter Deanne took her grandchildren to a family gathering where they got to play with some of their cousins.  When she got home, she went through some of her photos and piut together this image.  The photo on the left is Aurora, her granddaughter (my gr.g).  In the photo on the right, the shorter girl is my daughter Deanne, and the girl on the right is my daughter Kerri.  It's amazing how much Aurora looks like Kerri.  My Kerri passed away about fourteen years ago.  In this photo, it looks as though she hasn't really left us.  What a wonderful and comforting thought.

Because I've been so busy with PC and blog book problems, I still haven't had time to work on new quick pages.  So I dug into my archives and found this rather pretty quick page.  It's  very plain so that you can decorate it however you like.  It's called Angels Watching, and it might be nice for photos of some loved ones who are no longer here with us.

I don't remember where I got the background, and this is probably why it was still in my archives as an unfinished project.

Here is your download link:
http://www.mediafire.com/file/e6jmbaack9jrjfc/EB_-_QP_2012_Angels_Watching.zip/file

Now I think I'll grab a nice cold bottle of water and head for the porch.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Laptop Woes

June 18, 2019

Good morning.  It's early, only 5:50 a.m. and gray outside.  My weather app says the rain will start again in a couple hours and continue on most of the day.  I did not get to go grocery shopping yesterday, so today might be a good day to do it.

Yesterday, I spent most of the day trying to fix my laptop.  I had been trying to order my blog book, and could not get into the site to do this.  The folks there said that it was because of Explorer.  They did not use it.  I would need to switch to Foxfire or Chrome.

So, I switched over to Foxfire and tried again to order my book.  I still could not get into the site.  I uninstalled Foxfire, and then re-installed it.  I got the same results.  This left me no choice - install Chrome.

I called my daughter Audrey, and she helped me to download Chrome.  I'd like to say this solved all my problems, but it did not.  I still could not get into the site to order my book.  Instead, I kept getting a message that I was missing an important file in my computer.  I don't know anything about the inner workings of this laptop, so I went to Google and looked it up.

Google said that I needed to download a fix it program, so I did.  It scanned my laptop and came up with a list of things that needed to be fixed.  But it would only fix them if I bought the program.  So I bought it.  Once it was downloaded, it went about doing its thing for a while.

After all was said and done, my day was shot.  Then I got a look at my desktop, and oh my, what a shock!  All my icons were moved arouind and they were bigger and some were missing.  It took a while to make some sense out of all of this.  Needless to say, I was not in a very good mood by now.

With all of this happening, I never did get to order my book.  I'll try again in a little while.  Please, please let it go alright.  I am so fed up with these computers.  Everything on my laptop is different and I don't know how to get it back to looking like it did before.

Last night, I was reading an article in my AMAC magazine about different types of voter fraud.  It was real interesting to realize the different types of voter fraud.  I especially was interested in the one about fraudulent use of Absentee Ballots.

At the 2012 voting polls, I noticed that an Absentee Ballot had been sent to someone listed with my address although that person did not live at my house.  When I asked about it, I was told that they could not remove that person from my address until that person gave them a change of address in writing.  They would not tell me where they mailed the Ballot.  It certainly was not mailed to my address.  When I get a chance, I'd like to follow up on this to see if this is still happening.

I found an image on the web that I just had to borrow and share here.  It explains why my diets never work.  (at least I think it does!)

Hmmm, I rather like my snacks, and this takes all the fun out of enjoying them.  Oh, I'll still have them.  I'll just force myself to enjoy them!  hahaha.

Here's another picture that I found on the web.  This one tells it like it is.  You grow old when you stop laughing and enjoying each day as it comes.

That's about it for my news for today.  I want to try to order my Blog book before I do anything else.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Busy Making My Phone Happy

June 17, 2019

Good morning.  It's another early morning for me.  It's only 6:15 a.m. and I feel like I've been up for hours.  I haven't, it only feels that way.  I just spent a half hour trying to order my new blog book, and the web site messed up again.  It lets me get so far, and then it says try again.

This is the fourth time I've tried to order this book and I'm getting quite annoyed.  I don't know of any other company that prints these blog books or I'd try going somewhere else.  In a couple hours, I'll try calling the company on the phone, and hopefully they will answer my call.

Temps this morning are in the sixties, but should climb to the seventies in a few hours.  The sun should be coming out soon too.  I've been putting off doing my grocery shopping for a while now, so maybe I'll go this morning.

Yesterday, I wanted to spend some time on my laptop to make some new quick pages, but instead I spent several hours working on moving all the photos on my cell phone onto the memory card that is in the phone.  I thought I had already set it up to do this automatically, but I guess I didn't.  My phone keeps sending me messages that it is about to run out of room and things will soon stop working.

While I was doing this, I backed up everything onto my external drive.  I did all this by hooking my phone up to my computer and physically moving things around. By the time I finished with this, the afternoon was already gone.  Well, at least now my phone is happy again.

I have a photo of some of my yellow irises that I cut and put into a vase.  These flowers are beautiful, but they don't last very long.

While surfing the web, I came across a super way to keep vacation memories all in one place.  It's really quite neat!  You send yourself a postcard every day from wherever you are and write on it what you did that day.  Then you bind all the postcards together into a book  How unique!

I've noticed that sometimes the photos that folks send me (from their cell phones) just aren't very clear or sharp.  A lot of this depends on the amount of pixels that your phone's camera has.  One way to get the best photos that you can is to go into the camera's settings and set your photos to the highest best setting.  Also, set your video on the smallest setting.  This will make it easier to share your videos.

Here's another image that I borrowed from the web.  I think this is a good rule to live by.

Now I'm going to get dressed and maybe head out to the market.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Happy Fathers' Day

June 16, 2019

Good morning.  It's only 5:40 a.m. and it's still a bit gray outside.  It's supposed to be rather nice for a few hours, then we are supposed to be getting rain.  I hope the rain holds off for a while because there are a lot of barbeques planned for today.  Dads everywhere are being celebrated, and I hope they all have an awesome day.

Last evening, Bobby and his wife Amber and I went to the Paris Cabaret for dinner and an evening of musical entertainment.  During the intermission, all birthdays are acknowledged and we sing Happy Birthday.  Paris (the owner) made sure everyone knew that Bobby was Jazzy's brother.  During one of the songs that Paris sang, she came to our table and sang a bit to Bobby.  Here's a photo of Amber and Bobby.

Needless to say, we all had a super good time.  Our meal was great (prime rib) and the entertainment was superb.  I've seen the show before, but there were some new numbers that I hadn't seen.  I'm so glad we went.  I tried to take a couple of videos, but I wasn't doing so good.

I did manage to get a video of Jazzy singing one song.  I only missed a couple of the first notes.  This is one of my favorites.  I'm not sure about the volume so you'll probably have to turn the volume up.  Enjoy!  Please forgive the men walking by.  The men's room door is behind my chair.

Remember I said a while ago that I was going to do Christmas a little different this year?  Well, I have already given out a few of my presents, and I have to tell you it's been so much fun.  It's such a treat to see the look of surprise on someone's face and then the smile that follows.  If you have someone that you usually give several gifts to, try handing the gifts out one at a time throughout the year.  Let me know if you enjoy it too.

I've been sort of busy (not sure doing what) so I haven't had a chance to work on new quick pages.  However, I dug into my archives and brought out this one from several years ago.  I thought it might be good for photos of Dad on his special day.  Have fun with it.

If you have a problem with the link, let me know and I'll make a new link.  I was thinking of going shopping for a few groceries today, but it's going to rain so I think I'll wait and go tomorrow.  I think instead, I'll play on my laptop and make some new quick pages.

I've been watching SHOP LC and I have to tell you that they have some of the most beautiful exoctic gemstone jewelry.  Nope, I'm not shopping, but I do love seeing all these beautiful pieces.  I've loved rocks and gems since I was a little girl.  I had some awesome rock collections when I was a kid.  Back then, it was common to be able to find rose quartz and a few other pretty rocks on the ground.  Not so anymore.

Now I'm off to make a fresh cup of coffee.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Happy Birthday Bobby

June 14, 2019

Good morning.  Wow, I slept late this morning!  Pogo did try to wake me earlier, but I was not  going to interrupt my good sleep.  I know, bad mama!

It's sunny here and the temps are in the sixties.  We'll probably get up into the seventies before the rain  catches up to us.  Tomorrow is supposed to be a real nice day too.   I hope so because I'm taking Bobby and his wife Amber to the Paris Cabaret for dinner and a show, " 70's Disco Fever."

Tomorrow will be Bobby's 39th Birthday.  Wowsie!  The years have really flown by me.  Happy Birthday Bob-O-Link.  I hope your special day is awesome.  I love you.   When Bobby was quite young, I got a new set of lenses for my Polaroid camera, and I had such fun using them to take photos of my awesome grandson.  The top photo in this layout is one of my favorites.

There are only two shows left of  70's Disco Fever.  I do believe they are both sold out.  The dates were posted recently for the upcoming summer show and I called in to reserve my table.  As soon as I find out what will be playing, I'll post it here.

Pogo and I might go out this afternoon to do a bit of shopping, or maybe we'll wait till tomorrow.  We'll see how I'm feeling in a while.  I do need to pick up some more bird seed and laundry detergent.  If we go to Ocean State Job Lot, I'll be sure to pick up another loaf of the Sweet Raisin Bread.  It is sooooo yummy!

Now I think I'll refresh my coffee mug and sit out on the porch for a while.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous weekend.

A Little Rain Makes The Flowers Happy

June 13, 2019

Good morning.  Tis gray and wet here in New England with temps in the fifties for most of the day.  So I guess we do indoor chores today.

Yesterday, Pogo and I were out on the porch most of the day.  We finally had to come indoors because it was getting too warm out there.  It was nice though.  My grandson Bobby was here mowing the lawns and moving a few plants around.  My yard is getting so pretty!

I decided to set my little laptop up out on the porch.  This way, I can type my blog posts out there on nice mornings.  Hmmm, even though it is raining outside, there's a bit of a breeze and it's beginning to get quite perky.

Today, I think I'll call for an appointment to get an estimate on putting new gutters on the house.  There was an ad on TV from a company that says it will let you put large gutter jobs on time payments.   My house would be a large job, and time payments would make it easier to get it done now.  So, we'll see.

The red rose bush near my porch has blossomed, so I took some photos to share.  This plant was a gift from Deanne a few years ago.  She calls it The Red Sox Rose.

There's a white rose bush next to this one and it's going to be blossoming soon too.  On the other side of the house, there are pink roses in bloom.  I'll have to get out there soon and take some photos.  I also have a little rose bush called "Mint Julep" that is getting ready to blossom soon.  Plus, the two little sticks (tiny rose plants) that we planted are growing and doing really well.

A few days ago, I came across a really nice looking doggie (or kitty) bed that I thought Pogo would enjoy, so I ordered it for him.  Now we're just waiting anxiously for it to arrive.  Here's a photo of it.  It's called a "Calming Bed."
I can just picture Pogo snuggling into this bed and disappearing into all that fuzz.  Now that will make him an especially happy little camper!  I'll be sure to take lots of fun photos when the new bed gets here.

Now I have some blog reading to  catch up with.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Another Gorgeous Day In New England

June 12, 2019

Good morning.  It's looking really pretty outside my door this morning.  The sun is shining, and the temperature is at 68F degrees and headed for the upper eighties.  I'm looking to see if there is a breeze, but I'm not seeing one.  Ah well, it's still a beautiful day!

I'm sitting here trying to think of what it was that kept me so busy yesterday, and I can't think of a thing.  Do you have days like that?  I seem to have more than my share of them.  I know I was busy.  I just can't think of what it was that I was doing.

I was not crocheting and I did not run the vacuum.  I did not cook a big meal and I did not do laundry.  Hmmm, ah well, it will come to me late tonight just as I drop off to sleep.  Ooooh, wait!  I just remembered one thing that I did.  I went online to order a couple things.  I guess it's just going to come to me in bits and pieces.

Today, my grandson Bobby is supposed to be coming by to mow the lawns and replant a few Sweet Williams to new spots.  Mowing the grass should be quite a challenge because it is quite tall in spots.  He will have to do a walk through first to make sure there are no tiny critters living in the deep grass.

I meant to spend some time working on new quick pages, but I have not had the chance to do this, so I dug out a favorite of mine from back in 2013.  The background is a photo that I took of my lawn when it was covered in clover.  The robin on the ground is also a photo of mine.  The frame and the flying robin are from one of Kyra's old kits.  See the TOU.

I just went outside to get the mail and it is simply gorgeous out there.  Pogo and I are going to head out there now before it gets too warm.  Maybe later we can go shopping and pick up some more bird seed.  Sounds like a plan to me.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Nature Can Be Forgiving

June 11, 2019

Good morning.  Pogo and I have been up for a couple of hours now.  (It's 8:07 now)  He gets his Monday mornings mixed up with the weekend mornings.  (If Joe is home, Pogo wants his turkey treat!)  Pretty soon, he'll realize that Joe has gone to work and won't be back until later this afternoon.

Tis 68F degrees and a bit wet today.  Rather, I should say it's a lot wet.  Sometimes the rain comes down in a heavy downpour, and sometimes it's drizzly.  My driveway is slowly morphing into a pond.  This keeps the birds happy though.  The pond never gets overcrowded with bathers.  There's room for all of them.

Today I want to share photos of a favorite rose bush of mine.  Back in the nineties, my daughter Kerri gave me a yellow rose bush, and we planted it in the little garden by the kitchen windows.  It only blossomed yellow one year, but it grew into a large bush that blossomed every two years with  tiny root roses.

Over the years, a root from this bush grew over ground and took root a few feet away.  Today it is quite a large bush and enjoying its first year of blossoms.

A couple years ago, we had to cut the original bush way back because it was getting stringy and the bark on its limbs was old and crusty.  Last year, the bush just sat there taking in the sunshine and rain.  No leaves or blossoms.  However, this year it is showing new life.  And blossoms too!

Nature can be awesome!  Deanne sent me a photo of her little rose bush that has been looking quite dead for some time now, but this year has a surprise for everyone.  Folks, meet Beastie Jr.  Now isn't this a beautiful sight?

Yesterday I did a few loads of laundry (blankets, etc)  and got quite a surprise.  I'm just about out of laundry detergent.  Oh no!  I only use Ajax laundry detergent because it doesn't bother my skin.  When I find it at a store, I buy several bottles of it.  Now it's time to go shopping and buy a few more bottles to keep on hand.  It's either that or I'll have to get used to dirty laundry.  Eck!!

I think I'll work on my shopping list today.  I'm sure I can think of some other things that we can't do without.  hahaha.  I was hoping to sit out on the porch today and wrap a few things.  Even though it's raining, it is warm, so maybe I'll still do it.

Now, though, I'm going to make a cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.
