Say Bye Bye To May

May 31, 2019

Good morning.  Have you noticed the date?  Today is the last day of the month of May.  Now where did all of that month go?  I do believe that I'm getting older so fast because the months are flying by so fast.

This morning the sun is shining brightly and the temperature is at 60F degrees and working towards close to eighty degrees.  Oh boy, Pogo and I just might get to sit out on the porch today.  My Pogo wants so badly to get back out there.  Actually, me too!

I need to do some shopping but I don't dare go alone just yet.  My breathing seems to be getting better some times, but then other times it's not.  If it keeps up I'll have to make an appointment with my doctor.  I don't want to have to do that because he will refer me to a lung specialist who is going  to make me take some stress tests.  And, I'm not doing the stress tests.  The last time I had one with a breathing specialist I didn't think I was going to make it out of the room.

Somehow I think that today's doctors and the insurance companies get a lot of pleasure out of torturing us.  I know that there are non life-threatening stress tests out there, but they are not the ones that the doctors use.  Instead, they like to use the physical stress tests that push your heart or your lungs to the limit.  I'm not finding any enjoyment in this. (or necessity)

However, on to the fun stuff.  I've been taking it very easy these past few days, and that means watching a lot of fabulous bargains on TV.  Especially SHOP LC.  I've already ordered a few Christmas gifts to be put away as soon as they arrive here.  Folks, they don't just sell jewelry on this program.  They have some clothing items, and a lot of household items too.  Obviously, I can't say which bargains I got.

Today is Under $10 Day at SHOP LC but I haven't bought anything.  I also stumbled across a couple of terrific bargain on Amazon and ordered them too to be put away for Christmas.  I'm having some thoughts lately about what to save for Christmas and what not to save.  My Dad got to a certain age and decided to give things to folks that he normally would have left to them in his will.  His reasoning for this was so that he could enjoy watching folks enjoy his gifts.

I'm thinking that I'd like to do this too.  So maybe I'll just give a lot of these gifts to the folks they were bought for, and just give them one gift at Christmas.  Normally, I go overboard at Christmas, but then I don't get to watch folks enjoy these things.  Hmmm, yup, I think this is what I'll probably do starting this year.

DIL Janet has been going to the gym to exercise three nights a week, plus dieting, and has lost twenty pounds.  Woo Hoo!  Congratulations to Janet!  I've been doing pretty good too with the dieting.  I found this image on the web, and yup!  it's me in a nutshell!

My kids are all great cooks so I ordered a new magazine for them.  It's called The Food Network Magazine.  Here is one of the recipes that is in the newest issue that just came.   It's called Pineapple Soft Serve, and oh my it sounds delicious!  I hope you can read these instructions.  If not, let me know and I'll be glad to send you a copy via text message.

Deanne will be stopping by in a while, so I'd best get busy and do a couple chores so that we can sit and enjoy our time together.  Before I go, I have another new quick page for you.  This one is called Rusted Liberty.  It's something different from me, that's for sure.  Have fun with it.

Now I'm off.  I want to do a bit of blog reading before I get started on my chores.  So, till Sunday, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Don't blame you when it come to accepting what these doctors want you to do. I am an example because I didn't need to be on dialysis in the beginning. I left there from the sickness from this mess in 2017. It's now 2019 and I am still going strong. It's the money they want, but a patient sometimes has to say no. It's sad and I realize they have to make a living but why do it at the expense of someone else health. My nephrologist (new one) told me he wanted to see me every month and I said no, I am not coming here every month. He got the message and now see me every 3 months.(lol) He wanted to put that mess in my arm for the kidney machine again just in case I need it. I again told him he would not be doing that and my life is not based on the if. If then it happen, do it then but I wasn't going to be walking around with this thing in my arm for nothing. It's more money for them. He also told me my potassium was very high and gave me a list of every food in the world of what not to eat. If I paid attention to this list I would be dead from starvation on trying to live up to what he told me. (lol) I told him, I know God and he will keep seeing me through and when he get ready, he will call me home. Until then, I will be enjoying my life. If you don't stand for something you will fall for anything. Have a fantastic weekend. Enjoy Pogo and the little critters outside.

Oh, I agree about the gifts. I'd rather give gifts all year and keep Christmas small. Hope all works out with your breathing. It's a rough time of year for those with breathing problems. You have to get better so you and Pogo can sit out on that porch of yours.

It is a wonderful thing that you have so much documentation about your ancestors!! So interesting to read about it. Do you also have a family tree of some kind?
I have very little about my family, there should be something like a familu tree about my fathers side, but I know not much about my mother's side and I think it could be very interesting. I know, it is possible to find out things, but if you want to do it right, I think it will costs some money. Well, may be some day I will try to find out more, who knows.
You are right to take your time at the porch at times it is good weather for it, and specially you have to take it easy when your breathing isn;t great! Oh, I know a bit about those stress tests, I don;t like them either!
pefully the weather will get nicer again and somewhat dryer, so that the porch is an option again and also that Bobby can go on with the garden work for you.
I noticed the photo of your Hosta in the garden. I do like those plants, there are many varieties of them, but I had some and they didn;t do well. The snails and slugs like them too much!
Okay, time for me to do some blogging.
Hope you will have a lovely day and even better week,
Take care and enjoy the times at the porch as much as you can, together with Pogo.
Hugs
Kyra

Oh the hubby had the lung capacity test. He was faint twice he said but the lady was very kind and stayed close to him. I just do not think anything could be worse than struggling to breathe. Rebekah bought us a large air purifier and a humidifer. She and Zach cleaned all the carpets and we bought a new bed. Please keep in touch so I know you are ok. HUGS and LOVE
