A Whole Week Of Spring Temps Coming Our Way

April 12, 2015

Good morning.  Gosh, I tried really hard to sleep in late this morning, but it didn't work out that way.  First Pogo went potty, then wanted to be picked up and put on the sofa (the regular one).  So I did this and settled back down under my covers.  But my eyes were not closing.  Oh dear, I may as well get up.

It's probably just as well though.  Today is going to be a gorgeous Spring day with temps almost to 70F degrees.  Oh my, I can dig it!!  Maybe today we can take a walk around the whole yard to see what's coming up on the other side of the house.  Most of the snow is gone, and after the warm temps this week, it should all be gone.

Last evening I worked on the shrug and finished it.  Well, at least the main portion of it is finished.  I still have to edge around the armholes and make the fringe.  Then I will have to try it on someone to see what size it is.  I may try making another one once I see who this one might fit.

Today I have photos of my new pansy that DIL Janet gave me.  The colors are just beautiful.  Aren't these pretty?

It's too early to plant these outside yet, but during the day, I do put them out on my steps to soak up the warm sunshine.  Then, of course, I bring them back in just before sundown.

I found an interesting item in one of my catalogues that I thought I might share.  It's something to keep in the bathroom that will keep folks occupied while they are sitting on the throne.   It's called a musical potty piano bath mat.   You just tap out music with your toes.  It even comes with a mini music book guide.

On a more serious note, I borrowed this next image from one of my kid's web pages.  It's a sad reminder as to just how much we have lost or given up over the years.   Children stopped pledging allegiance to the flag in our schools because some folks said they were offended by it.  To that statement, I say:  "If you are offended by this, then find some other country to live in."

I've often wondered why some folks move to this great country of ours.  Most often I've heard it said that they came here to start a new life filled with hope and the promise of a better life.  If that's so, then why is it that so many of them are dong their best to destroy all of our traditions and beliefs?   If they are not happy with the "good life" here, then they should go somewhere else where they could be happier.

Ah well, I think it's time for a fresh cup of coffee and maybe get a load of laundry started.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a beautiful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

That musical mat is great fun! But what if somebody is waiting at the toiletroom door, hoping the one that occupies it, will be ready VERY quickly? LOL!
You will not hurry, cause it's too big fun t play a tune or two.
Your pansies are gorgeous!
worked a bit in the garden today, re-potting again. With just a few days of warmer temps and sunshine, all seems to speed up double in growing!
Just about an hour or so more to play and then have to make something for dinner.
Have a lovely day.
Hugs
Kyra

We had a beautiful Spring day yesterday as well. I took Izzi for a long walk in the forest preserve with a friend and her Aussi (Izzi's friend). Boy, it was wonderful to get out in that fresh air and the preserve was beautiful even though the trees don't have leaves yet. But, alas, I over did it and today I am stiff as a board. I do have to do yard work though so that will either unstiffen me or make it worse. We'll see tomorrow.

Your pansy's are awesome and it is said that they tolerate the cold quite well. I have a little miniature iris that has been blooming for over a week and it doesn't even seem to notice the cold. My big iris are still covered with leaves ... that is what I have to get done today or they may not make it up and that would be a shame. Mint bought seeds to plant and we will be doing that as soon as the ground gets a little dryer. So much to do in the spring ... almost too much as I get older it gets harder to get done. The kids put our lawn furniture out on the deck yesterday while I was out walking ... nice surprise because that is not an easy job. I am surprised that Mint was able to help carry everything ... I gues little doesn't mean weak.

I agree that there are many who are trying to ruin our country, but I don't think the immigrants are the culprits ... I think they do come here for the "American Dream" and most appreciate the greater opportunities they have here. We are running short on opportunity though and I blame our so called congress and supreme court for that ... just sayin'

I know that feeling in the morning ... I always turn over and try to close my eyes again, but the critters in the household will have none of that. The get right up on me and meow at me, sometimes even pull my hair ... and Izzi goes and starts ringing her bell. I have no chance. Don't know what it means to sleep in. And sadly, I am not good at taking naps, so I just have to make sure I get enough sleep at night. Well, I need to get my show on the road. You have a wonderful Sunday and rest of your week. Love to Pogo and the kitties ...

Your pansies are just lovely. I always try to have some in my window box during the summer. Some of them last pretty late into the autumn.

Oh, I feel our country was much better when I was a child. Maybe that's just the way I remember it, but I don't think people were afraid to walk down their block at night for fear of being attacked back then. I guess I'm just an old fogey.

Oh well, If they try to take God out of our lives, why not take all the respect we should have for our wonderful country. The world has turned upside down. Our mayor here is trying to get an equal rights ordiance passed so when a person is transgender they have a right to use the bathroom of choice. To each his/her own, do what you please, live the life that you want to live, but don't try to make your chosen lifestyle impose on others. God has disappeared and the devil is running free among us. He is still present in my life and all I can say is, we need the old school life back, respect, and love for others. God and our country as well. Whatever they think is right, they want others to agree with them. These days are at a sad time and we believers will have to stay prayed up just to get through our everyday life.
