It's Artic Freezing Everywhere!

January 8, 2014

Good afternoon.  I've been so busy catching up on all my emails that I forgot to post here till now.  There's really not much happening around here.  It's still cold, although the sun is shining today.  I'm not having any luck getting sunrise or sunset photos because it's too cold for me to want to go outside.

I's amazing how wimpy I've gotten in my "tender" years.  When I was younger, the weather could not stop me.  But now, well let's just say that I prefer to play outside in the warmer temps.  My mind would absolutely love to take a drive through the park and maybe get some great photos, or maybe take a drive by the ocean for some spectacular photos.  Alas, my body says "nope nope, too cold".

I do have a pretty photo that I took a year and a half ago of a beautiful sunset by the ocean.  It was also much warmer then, so maybe the photo will help to you warm you up for a moment or two.

I am, however, trying to line up some fun places to visit while Pogo and I are in Florida this year.  I just have to make sure that they all allow animals in the area.  A photo is not a good enough reason for me to leave Pogo behind.  I follow several blogs with great bird and wildlife photos, and I write down the places where the photos were taken.  I have a nice list now, so I just have to do my homework.

I heard on the Weather Channel a couple of days ago that it was (on that day) below freezing in all 50 states.  Now I find that amazing.  I don't think I've ever known that to happen before.  What I do know is that I will be so glad when this Artic Freeze is over.

There is a basement below most all of my house, but not the part I live in.  So the cold comes right up through the floor.   This makes carpeting a must.  However, with a little dog, one must also have lots of scatter rugs.  For just in case, of course.

I've been shopping around on the internet for doggie boots that might fit Pogo, and I think I found some.  The Drs. Foster & Smith catalogue has a pair in size "Itty Bitty".    They also have some cute shirts and pajamas.  I may order a few things to see how their size Small fits Pogo.

****I'm back.  I've taken a short visit out to the main house to check on one of the dwarfs who is sick in bed with the flu.  She has just had a little something to eat and is on her way back to bed.  In our house, we are like an odd sort of family, and we look after each other.

Well, now it's time to see what's for lunch.  Pogo turned his little nose up at his breakfast, so maybe I can find something a bit more tasty for his lunch.  So till tomorrow, Y'all be warm and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

So good that you and the dwarfs check on each other Makes me feel better knowing someone is checking on you. Yes, this cod is something else. I love winter but it is dangerously cold. We didn't have water on Monday. frozen and busted pipes. Both of my sons are having problems with their heat. I bet you are looking forward to going to Florida. You stay warm and cozy with Mr. Pogo.

Amazing how cold it is in your country!
I sure hope it soon will be over again, no fun at all these temperatures!!!
Take care you don;t catch the flu bug from the dwarf!
But it's good you all look after eachother when necessary, and it reassures me too, that you have people around that keep an eye on you!
If you have to go out, well, put on some real warm clothes, and all and make as quickly as possible, your shopping.
Then back home you might get warm again by dreaming about your Spring vacation LOL!
Take care, my friend.
