What To Do When You Get Lost In The Snow

January 2, 2014

It's almost 5:30 a.m. and it has been snowing lightly all through the night.  They are saying that most of the snow will come today and tonight.  Well, Pogo and I have plenty of food and water (we only drink spring water) and we are staying indoors where it is warm.

Here's a photo I just shot through the plexiglass window on my storm door.  It's not the greatest photo, but it will do.  I wouldn't mind at all if this were all the snow we are getting.

And this is my little guy.  We are on the sofa, and he's made himself a warm little cave out of fuzzy throws, and climbed in where it is cozy warm.

Yesterday morning, on my way home from work, I pulled over a couple of times to get some photos of how the sky was looking at daybreak.  It was so pretty with a mix of pinks, blues, purples and golden yellow.

Today there is nothing special on the agenda other than making a couple of phone calls and playing on my laptop.   I don't really understand abstract art, but I want to try a bit of it.  Mostly it is blending images and layers and turning the new image into something, maybe a word, a thought, or a message?  I don't really know, but I do like playing with layers so it should be fun.

I have a cute joke that one of my friends sent to me, and I thought I would share it with you.  It seems that this sweet young thing was driving her car and became lost in a snowstorm.  She didn't panic however, because she remembered what her dad had once told her.  "If you ever get stuck in a snowstorm, just wait for a snow plow to come by and follow it."

Pretty soon a snow plow came by, and she started to follow it.  She followed the plow for about forty-five minutes.  Finally the driver of the truck got out and asked her what she was doing.  And she explained that her dad had told her if she ever got stuck in a snow storm to follow a plow.  The driver nodded and said, "well, I'm done with the Walmart parking lot, so do you want to follow me over to Best Buy now?"

I know, kind of corny huh?  Well it gave me a nice giggle, so I thought you would like it too.  Now I'm going to make another cup of coffee and rustle up some breakfast.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.

Hugs, Edna B.

It gave me a giggle too ... I didn't see the Walmart parking lot coming.

Like you we pretty much stayed in during our part of your storm. My son came over last night after most of it was over and snow blowed everything. This moring there is a light dusting (about an inch) on everything and it is still snowing lightly, but not expecting anything big. It is hard to tell how much we really got because we had so much snow on the ground already, but I can tell you, it was substantial.

Izzi is loving it but that will pass because we are going to get "artic cold" where our high temperatures are in the minus degrees. I am going to the store today to stock up, then I am going to snuggle up with a book and stay inside. I don't know if Izzi's boots are going to be enough for her to go out in those temperatures ... we will have to try, but I am sure it will be a quick out/in scenerio.

Your sunrise picture is beautiful ... I love the pinks. We get the pinks here in our eastern sky when the sun is setting in the west ... love it. Now that you have shown us your picture of your car in your driveway ... take another one tomorrow and we will be able to see how much snow you have from your storm. My friend's husband is a truck driver and they are sending him out east right in the middle of this blizzard. It angers me that companies don't respect thier employee's more than that. I have my fingers crossed that he will be okay.

Well, I am off to the shower, then to the store ... actually a few stores. I hope I get back before the temps start dropping ... I am sure the roads will be covered with ice in those temperatures. This has been some winter so far ... I hate to think what is coming. So, Edna, cuddle in with Pogo and stay safe. I am glad you don't work until Sunday ... I feel better with you home. Be well and be safe ...

That is pretty funny about the snow plow.
I love how Pogo buries himself. My Springer does that too, except he is a lot bigger.
Stay safe and warm and cozy.

Hoping with you that this coat of snow will be about all you get. Saw some views on tv about the snowstorm hitting a large part of the NE os the USA, brrrr, far too much snow for me!!!
Funny joke, gave me a smile reading it!
Oh, i started making some of the puzzles in the book you sent me. It is still not all too easy for me, although I am sometimes proud I find several words, without having to look at the solution.
It's a good training for the language.!
Have to post now, so I can go out later today.
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs
