Good morning. It's looking a bit gray and cold out there this morning. Try 34F degrees and foggy, with the weather man promising 41F degrees and rainy. But, it's still better than more snow and below freezing temps.
Well, last night I stayed up late and played cards on my laptop and caught up on a bunch of emails, a catalogue order and blog reading. It's amazing how time flies when you are having fun. After a while of playing, I looked up at the clock and it was 2 a.m. Oh my, time to get ready for bed.
Yesterday was a pretty good day with only a little coughing. I'm (hopefully) definitely on the mend. As much as I shouldn't rush back to work on the weekend, I really need to get back there pretty soon so they will remember that I still work there. I've lost so much work time this past year because of these nasty colds and infections.
I found an absolutely adorable image on the web that I thought I would share with you. There are days when this would make life so much easier for some of us gals. Maybe this lovely lady is wearing what could become a new fashion trend. After all, if it is okay for guys to walk around with their pants around their knees, why can't we ladies wear our new trendy "pullups"?
I've been watching the Weather Channel, and they are very disturbed about the severe drought that is ongoing throughout the whole state of California. They obviously have never read my blog when I've been ranting about building water pipe lines across the country to offset the flooding in some parts and put out the fires in the West.
If we can destroy our ecosystem and wildlife to put in an oil pipeline for Canada, why can't we build a water pipeline to save our people and country. Nothing against Canada, but who will save the rest of the world when we are all done destroying ourselves?
We feed and clothe the world, give them free medical, and anything else they want or need. When we are down to our last cup of water, who is going to step in and start supporting us? Do you really think that anyone will? Instead of spending billions of dollars on getting the news out to all available media forms, can't we use those billions for some water pipelines? How about cutting back all aid to other countries a percentage and use it to save our own people?
Calm down Edna girl. Why bother making noise about any of this. I won't be here when the younger generations have to live with the consequences of man's bad decisions. I care because I'll be leaving behind some very special people. My family. My children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and maybe even some great greats.
This same thought affects all of us. So if you live in or near any of these severe drought areas, try making some noise about putting in water pipe lines while we still have these beautiful parts to our countries.
One of my daughters sent this delightful image (from the web) to me. This little fellow is so adorable, and looks like the ones who climb up and peek into my living room window to remind me that they need more food.
I found this next beautiful image on my daughter's web page. It really touched my heart, and made a lump in my throat. This mother managed to bring all her babies out of the fire and put them in a safe place.
Well, I think I need to get dressed and go look for some mischief to get into before the day slips by. I should clean out my pots and pans cupboard today. DIL Janet gave me a beautiful new set of cookware, so now I shall get rid of some of my old pans. So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Edna B.

I don’t think any part of Washington is like the Founding Fathers envisioned, I think our government from 50 years ago would be disgusted. (Some of them who still are here are disgusted!) As long as corporations are more important people than citizens to the politicians, the money from an oil pipeline will be much more important than saving trivial things like natural beauty or lives. We need to get rid of high-money lobbyists and elect people with incomes similar to ours!
I do have some pants that would fit like that, but…. Not for groceries, no for me. :)
I’ve seen the squirrely image before, too sweet! (We need to get a birds and squirrel feeder.)
I got a bit of a lump with the mama dog too! A mother’s love knows no bounds, huh?
Grocery day today! (finally) I need to have another cup of coffee while I make sure my list and coupons are ready!
Hugs, Nani
I have another idea ... how about all the billionairs and corporations paying their fair share of taxes instead of putting all of their profits outside the country so they won't be taxed. And how about closing some of the loopholes that benefit only the rich and the rich corporations. We would have more than enough money for our own people if we did that. And how about stopping these disgraceful trade agreements that undermine all of our American industries and companies ... this next agreement is going to bring down the auto industry that we just managed to save. Where are the "American" congressmen who can make these things happen??? Why aren't we voting them into congress. Why do we keep electing people who don't care about us, only the very rich ... Hello ... is anyone out there?
Now back to touching pictures of a beautiful little dog saving her family. I wish people were more like dogs :) What a wonderful world this could be.
So glad you are feeling better Miss Edna ...though staying up until two in the morning isn't exactly part of the "getting better" recipe. Hope you are able to make up that lost sleep somewhere.
So how is the Pogo doing. We haven't heard much from him lately. I'll bet he is looking forward to Florida and some warm weather. We are still cold and still snowing out here. Never seems to end. But, that said, we are half way through January already ... Spring is getting closer :) You take care of your self and stay well. Be careful about going back to work ... make sure you are well enough so you don't end up with a relapse. Enjoy your evening ...

Oh I so agree with some of your statements about government!
It's going on almost all over the world the same. Oh, some of the taxes for the rich have gone up a bit, may be even some measurements are taking towards big companies and banks, but I wonder if that will make the difference.
Are we thinking too naive, or could some things be done easier and better, like we small people sugggest???
I think some things could be done better, and of course, there has to be made some profit in companies, to survive, nothing wrong with some profit, but the enormous and excessive ones ???
And slowly we are as a nation here loosing comtrol over our own country, laws and rules are made in the European parliament and I believe they aren't always so succesfull to say the least.
Ibetter stop, before I get too excited LOL!
Good news is your have a lot less coughing, seens you are on the mend.
I understand you like to go back working, but be careful, wait a bit longer, till you feel better and stronger girl!
We don;t want you to catch another cold or bug or whatever!!
Have a wonderful day
Hugs

I am with you Edna all the way! I never fell for their garbage about starving children in China when I was in the 2nd grade at Catholic School and I sure don't buy it now! Let each government take care of it's own! This president is going to start a war. He and the Russians are so smug! Meanwhile the Olympics are going on! I would not participate. We just don't know what will be. I get so aggravated. Sunday we went to the grocery store and to gas up the car for the week. A guy who looked so down on his luck approached every single person there asking for gas money. What was so tragic is my hubby and I were so broke and gave him all of our change about four dollars and he put it in his car. My heart is broken! We live in a country where this should not happen. Our streets are littered with the homeless and most of the older ones served our country in war! It is sickening that we leave them to die. I think America ought to wise up and run these politicians out of town! Aackkk! We are two peas in a pod! I love that I know a friend who doesn't fall for all the baloney the government feds us! we spit it out and speak up! I wish I could change the way things are here in the USA. People are more concerned about Kanye West or Penney Marshall than what our government is up to! Ugh!
