The news is grim this morning. During the night, the two bombing suspects robbed a convenience store, set off more explosives, stole a car and held a hostage for a while, shot and killed one police office, and shot and critically wounded another officer. One of the suspects has been shot and killed, but the other one is still on the loose.
All public transportation to and from Boston has been shut down, colleges have been closed and school activities have been cancelled. Some people have been evacuated from their homes for safety reasons. A lot of Boston is shut down, and people are being asked to stay away. Residents are being told not to answer their doors unless they see a properly identified uniformed police officer.
The two terrorists are brothers from Russia, near Chechnya, who have been living in this country for a while, and attended Boston schools. A news alert has just been announced that all taxi cab service is shut down for the day, and the Federal Court House is closed. Another neighborhood in crime scene area is now being evacuated, and businesses in the area are being closed.
Gosh, when does it end? Where does all this hate come from? Why do some folks leave their homeland and come here to live and attend our schools, and then turn around and kill us? If they hate us so much, why don't they just stay where they came from?
There is really no way to turn this blog post into a cheery chat, so I will just post a photo of one of my daffodils and call it a day. If you haven't already been to Su's blog to pick up her two parts of the collab kit, please do stop by.
That's it for this morning. God bless us all, and let's hope that the other suspect is caught and taken into custody soon. Till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a wonderful day.
Hugs, Edna B.

I hope you are far enough away from it to be safe. It is a terrible story from start to the (hopefully soon) finish. I hope they catch the second one alive because I would like to know what motivates such vicious terror. And, I would like him to experience American justice ... I agree, not much more to be said. Be safe, Edna ...

Please be safe! So worried about you and my friend Inez since this guy is on the run, but hopefully, they do have him holed up and it will all end well SOON!
Still not an official count to the number of casualties of the fertilizer plant explosion in the city of West, TX (1 hr south of me)! So feeling for their devastation down there!
Hope your weekend will allow you some photo ops! Lovely photo of the daffodil and Pogo looks so adorable in his Boston jersey! He really went on a spending spree, maybe he should stay home the next time you go shopping! LOL! JK! He is one lucky furbaby! Have a wonderful weekend ahead! Chat more next time. Hugs, Mat
I agree with Andr3a! Both that you stay safe and in the hope that they catch the other one alive and interrogate him. Whatever the excuse it's not a good one, but are there any others and what can be learned to fix sick people who have so little value for life?
These are such sad times. It really bugs me when they come to our country, avail themselves of education in our schools and then turn against us. I hope the other is caught soon so this can be put behind us.
We hear all the news about Bostob, and it is horrible. The two brothers that are cuaght now, are just suspects. There is a good chance they are responsible for the bombing at the marathon, but nothing is usrre yet I think. Hopefully the police and FBI will be able to find real evidence that those two are the ones who did it all.If they are the ones, I hope we will hear about their motivaion.
Then there is the huge fire and explosion in Texas, oh God, where does it all end. Nothing then misery, hate and killing, and that is all over the world. It looks as if it is getting more extend and more grimm every time.
No, those news items don;t make your day happy.
Glad you are all safe.
Hug
