Leaves Of Gratitude Project

November 23, 2008

Yippee!! I finished the Thanksgiving Kit, and will post it later this week. While checking my emails, I came across one of the latest offerings from Hewlett Packards creative projects. It's called "Leaves of Gratitude." I thought it such a unique and wonderful way to help celebrate your Thanksgiving.

I tried to find a link to share with you, but the only one I found was two miles long. LOL. Then I thought I would bring it up in Photoshop and put it on a layout page for you. WRONG! This PDF file won't open anywhere it can be copied. At least on my computer. So I put it in a folder, zipped it up, shot it out to "link land" and now have a link for you to download.

So much for my own talents. Basically, you will need a vase, some twigs (short, slim branches), heavy weight colored paper, strings for tying, paper hole puncher, and a pen. Pictures of leaves (or small dried leaves) are optional. You print, or draw, these fall shapes on your heavy weight colored paper, punch a hole in the top of the shape and tie a small piece of string through the hole for hanging. Place the twigs (or branches) in a vase and place on table. Guests can each write what they are thankful for and sign their name on a shape, and then tie it to the Tree of Gratitude. What a nice way for getting back to the meaning of Thanksgiving.

If want to try other projects, try going to Hewlett Packard, on line, and look around for their creative corner. I don't have the correct address or link for this, but you can find it on google, I'm sure.

There is a fantastic program on History Channel about the States. I'm taping it so that I can watch the whole thing uninterrupted. This is one of my favorite channels. They have some of the most fascinating programs. They're so interesting, you don't even notice that you are learning something while being entertained.

I will post my two page layout that I made for the chat challenge, and then I must go spend some quality time with Tootsie. Tonight is a working night, and she doesn't like me leaving. So I try to give her a little extra attention to make up for it. Have a great night.

Hugs, Edna B.
