Mr. Ducky, You Got My Number!

September 12, 2018

Good morning.  We're having another grayish, slightly wet day here in New England.  We did get a little rain between yesterday and last night.  Not a lot, though.  Just enough to make lots of small puddles.  Today's temps should be around seventy degrees.  Nice.

I've been watching the Weather Channel this morning, and the various interviews with local government persons in North and South Carolina.  I have to say that the questions being asked by the news reporters seemed a bit stupid to me.  There were questions like "How much damage do you think the storm will cause?"  "How much money does FEMA have?"  (Both questions have been answered repeatedly in the news.)

Not one of the reporters asked "Where are the shelters set up?"  "Have they all been set up to accept family pets?"  "Has everyone in the mandatory evacuation areas left?"  "Are volunteers needed, and who do they call?"  "What can we do?"

As I watch the various Weather Channel personnel who are posted along the coastline in the Carolinas, I'm still seeing a lot of boats in the water.  I'm wondering why they haven't been moved out of there yet.  I know, stupid question.

I'm really worried about all the helpless animals.  Where do they go for safety?  Do folks make provisions for all their farm animals?  What about all the homeless animals?  I pray they all find a way to safety.

Yesterday I spent time working on, and ordering, my newest Blog Book.  This book is number twenty six.  Some years I've been a bit chatty, (and posted lots of photos) and I've had to break the year up into three volumes instead of two.  Thank goodness for the coupon, it saved me a lot of money.  Here's a picture of the covers on my newest book.

I was busy most all day, but I'm hard pressed to think of what else I actually accomplished.  I guess this is one of my special talents.  Being busy all day with nothing to show for it.  I found this adorable cartoon on the web and borrowed it to share here.  Yup, this duck certainly has my number!

I just got a text from DIL Janet.  She won't be coming by tonight because one of her nephews has been rushed to the hospital with a collapsed lung.  Oh my gosh, I think this young fellow is in his late teens, so what in the world could have caused this?  Janet, I'll be praying for Sam's recovery.

Today I have a new quick page for you.  This one is just fun and whimsical, and probably great for photos of your children and grandchildren.  Have fun with it.

Here is your download link:

Now I'm off to do a bit of blog reading, and then I'll be looking for some new mischief to get into.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all be safe and have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

This latest hurricane looks like a real doozy. I wonder if this is part of global warming and we'll see the storms get more and more severe.
I was glad to see you didn't appear to be in the danger zone.
I worry about the animals also.
Have a great day.

Love that sign with the duck. I can aplly that also to me LOL!
I also keep an eye on that hurricane Florence. seems to be a nasty one.I hope all people and animals will be okay. Still I am glad you are not in the path of it.
What a pretty photo of Kerry Ann. Funny how sometimes we suddenly have to think about someone much more than usual. I wonder if that is for a special reason.
Oh, gosh, I cross fingers for the nephew of Janet. It is a frightening thing, a collapsed lung. Praying all will go well with him soon.
we have still some nice weather. Just for one or two days it was cloudy and rather chilly, but today it looks already much friendlier, lots of sunshine and it seems that next week we will even have some higher temperatures. I can deal with that!!
Now time to send you a big hug, I will work a little bit on a new kit, I just keep it calm, today. I did some hoovering this morning in the house, (after I slept rather late into the morning, oh how wonderful), and I think for today that is good enough. Tomorrow I will do some more in and around the house, I hope.
have a wonderful day and weekend. Stay safe!
Hugs
Kyra
