Good morning. We are so blessed with this wonderful weather here in my little part of New England. Today is another balmy summer day. Temps will get up into the low eighties with lots of sunshine and just the teeniest bit of a breeze.
It's a great day for a birthday feast. I wonder, do they have lobster dinners in Heaven? Every year on this day I would cook up a lobster feast for my hubby and my brother to celebrate their birthdays. Happy Birthday Michael and Artie. I miss you both.
Well, the best laid plans usually fall apart here. I had something specific I was going to do yesterday, but instead Pogo and I spent some time out in the yard and I took photos of some of the flowers. After that, I spent time on my laptop cropping photos so that I could share them here.
Do you remember the post where I showed a photo of one my lilies that was growing taller than the six foot privacy fence? Well here it is in bloom, followed by a close up photo. Isn't this pretty?
And here's a couple views of another lily from the garden. This one is a soft lemon color. Just gorgeous!
I have more photos, but I'll save them for tomorrow. Pogo and I don't have any special plans for today. We'll just take it as it comes. I do think that we'll spend a little time sitting out on the porch. I love listening to the birds chirping and singing. It's such a peaceful sound. There is quite a nice variety of birds in my yard and they are busy all day long.
There are a few small critters too, and I think my favorites are the chipmunks. They are just so cute to watch scurrying about, collecting food. One of the dwarfs and I keep large bags of peanuts handy for the squirrels and the chipmunks. The Blue Jays love the peanuts too. I also buy corn logs for the squirrels. I like to keep the critters happy.
Yesterday, Deanne sent me a photo of an item in the newspaper. It was a list of the graduates that finished the year with high honors. And guess whose name was on the list? Yup, our Jazzy made the list. Actually, she carried honors and high honors throughout all her school years. Just another reason why we are so proud of her.
My great grandson Jack Jack (only a couple of us call him that) is going into the hospital tomorrow for some surgery. He was born a preemie with Celiac disease. Now he's thirteen, and a really nice young man. He's interested in all things pertaining to the Police and Forensic sciences. He wants to study something in this field when he finishes high school. I've ordered a book (geared to kids his age) on Forensics to be sent to him at home. I'm hoping this will keep him occupied while he is recuperating. Feel better soon Sweetie.
If you were born in the month of July, your birthstone is the Ruby. So today I have a quick page for you that features the Ruby. Enjoy.
Here is your download link:

Now I think Pogo and I are going to head for the bathroom, and he is going to have a bath. He fits perfectly in the bathroom sink. So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.
Hugs, Edna B.

I think I need to add some daylilies to my garden space - they give such a nice pop of color at a great height.
One of my lilies did the same thing this year. It was like it was reaching for the sky! Your blooms are beautiful! Congrats to Jazzy and prayers for a successful surgery for Jack Jack! Have a blessed day dear friend! HUGS!
somewhat sad but also happy feelings about the loved ones passed away. Sad because there aren;t there anymoore, happy because there are such good memories.
Didn;t know your Michael, but I can remember Artie.
They were certainly looking down on you on this special day!
Hug
Kyra
