Mysterious Spotted Pods

July 23, 2018

Good morning.  Tis quite nice outside today.  It's a bit on the gray side, but there's a beautiful breeze.  Temps will climb about to eighty degrees later today.  We did get a few sprinkles late yesterday and during the night, and we could still use a few more to fill up our reservoirs.

For those of you who tried to download yesterday's QP, I'm sorry that I forgot to post the link. However, it is now fixed.  Thanks for being patient.

Yesterday, DIL Janet and I went to Boston and visited with Sean for a while.  He's looking tired, but on the mend.  I was quite surprised to learn that he might be discharged as early as tomorrow.  Gosh, they don't even let you start to feel good before they send you home these days.

Another thing that really surprised me was that for severe pain, they give you Tylenol.  Can you imagine that?  I guess this is because of the illegal drug trade and drug addiction.  Maybe it's better for the legitimate patient to suffer severe pain than take the chance that he or she may become a drug addict.  Maybe, but I just don't buy it.

Today I have some photos that I took a few days ago in my yard.  First, there was a dragonfly out by the shed.  We don't see very many of them anymore.

Next, I noticed that there were pods of some sort growing on my lilac bush.  I've never noticed anything like this before.  Have you?  Here's a photo of the pods and a close -up photo.  If you know why it does this, do let me know.

Next, I stood beneath the Japanese Red Maple and took photos looking up through the branches.  It's really quite pretty.  The reds are really much darker, but the sunshine makes a lot of the leaves look golden yellow and orange.

Pogo and I don't have any specific plans for today.  We're just going to see what comes our way.  Right now, I think I should wash the dishes in the sink and then go out to water the plants on the porch and in the greenhouse.  After that, the day is all ours.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Beautiful pictures! NOT sure about those little thingies on your lilac, it doesn't look good to me:( Happy that you were able to visit Sean and that he is on the mend. They don't let you stay very long and overcharge for the time you ARE there! Enjoy your day dear friend, HUGS!

Tried to find siomething about the pods, didn;t find something satisfying. Perhaps you could pick some and if you have a garden centre not far away you could ask them?
Looks like seed pods, but i am not sure and the white sutff on it, I don;t like so much. Pick one and open it, perhaps that will show something?
