Happy Fourth Of July

July 4, 2018

Good morning.  Happy Fourth of July to you!  Here's my beautiful flag that hangs at the corner of my porch.  I love watching my flag wave happily in the breeze.  Isn't this a pretty picture?

Today is another "steamer" although it's maybe a couple degrees cooler than yesterday.  Our temps reached almost 100F degrees yesterday.  Today, temps should be closer to ninety.  Thank goodness for my A/C and my oxygen.  They keep me breathing good.

Actually, my A/C has a setting called "fan only" which acts just like a fan.  It just brings in cooler air (when it is available).  I use this late at night when the temps go down a bit.  As long as the air outside has cooled down enough, this makes it comfy for sleeping.

Well, yesterday, Deanne came over so that we could go out for her birthday luncheon.  To start with, the place she wanted to go to is closed until July 5th.  So that took care of that.  Every other eatery that we looked up or mentioned just was not someplace she wanted to go to.

Finally, we got in the car and drove around to see if there was someplace close by that she might want to eat at.  We finally ended up at The Outback.  We went in and saw that there were only eight tables with folks seated.  The rest were all empty.  However, we were going to have to wait to be seated because there were only two waitresses and they were only allowed to wait on four tables each.  Are you kidding me???   We left.

Next we stopped at TGIF.  We went in and were seated right away.  They had a lunch special - Burger, Appetizer and Drink $10 or $12.  Awesome!  So that's what we had.  The food was good and the company was even nicer.

Today is another story!  This morning I've been watching HSN, and they had an item that I wanted so I called to order.  I was transferred to customer service and told that I could not have any orders shipped to my address.  Excuse me?  What did I do?  It seems that last March, one of the dwarfs placed an order to be shipped to this address, and I guess they did not pay their bill.  This caused HSN to place a block on my address.

This got me very upset, and I finally had to give them a different address to send my order to if I still wanted to place my order.  So, for now, I'm having it sent to Deanne.  She will bring it to me when it arrives.  In the meantime, HSN is going to have to look this situation over, and they will let me know what their decision is.  I have a rooming  house here, and it's not fair to punish me if someone else does not pay their bills.

So, before I came here to type this post, I headed on over to Sean Of The South to read his story for today.  This always put's me in a good mood.  Today he wrote about the value of friends.  I am ever so thankful for all my friends.  Just click on his link here and have a peek at some of Sean's stories.

Today I have a few photos to share of the flowers in the greenhouse.  The first two photos show how nicely the new petunia plants are doing, and the last photo shows how two of the plants that the critters ate are doing.  They seem to be coming back.

I don't think I mentioned yesterday where you could purchase the microwave cake pan in case you are interested.  They are available on Amazon for $7.75.  I think I bought mine at either Christmas Tree Shoppe or WalMart.  I think it's a great little pan, especially for baking in this wicked heat.

Before I take my leave, I do have another new quick page for you.  This one might be nice for some of the photos you take today.  I hope you like it.

Here is your download link:

Now I think I'll get me a nice cold bottle of water, and settle in for some serious TV watching.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a safe and happy Fourth of July.

Hugs, Edna B.

Edna,
How unfair to have your address blocked... People move in and out of places all of the time so that policy seems a bit unfair! I hope that you get it straightened out. In the mean time I believe that I would send a discreet note to the dwarfs letting them know that your address is blocked because of someone not paying their bill. UGH how sad!

Good to see the plants the critters ate are coming back. Do you think perhaps that it was the little groundhogs? I guess that they were so pretty and tasty that who ever snacked on them just couldn't resist!

Thank you for the beautiful QP... We have no plans for today. It is just too hot. Another day with triple digit heat but we are suppose to have some rain this afternoon. Earlier in the week they said that the rain would cancel the fireworks, but now they said that it should be clear tonight so the July 4th fireworks can still go on as planned.

Have an awesome day!!! Hugs and Kisses to my little fellow Pogo and to you as well. Love, Beth

How unfair to have your address blocked because of someone else not paying their bill. Would they do that for an apartment house? Hope it all gets straightened out. Thanks for letting us know where to get that microwave pan. I think I'll get one. I have not been to TGIFriday's in years. I always liked their food. I used to work near one but now they are all so far away from home.
