What's With All This Winter Weather?

April 4, 2018

Good morning.  It's gray and wet here in New England.  Temps are supposed to be a bit warmer today but it won't really be very noticeable because of the rain and wind.  Gosh, I wonder what is causing Mother Nature to have these wicked tantrums.

The storms yesterday caused severe damage in Texas and other states in the central part of the country, and are moving Eastward today.  Other states are dealing with lots more snow.  Cold temps and maybe more snow are moving back in to the East.  Yoo Hoo, Mother Nature!  It's supposed to be Spring time now!

I'm contemplating getting a greenhouse so that I can grow a few plants and maybe even some tomatoes this year.  Ocean State Job Lot has one on sale for $50.  Every year as soon as my tomatoes get almost big enough to pick, something comes along and eats them.

Yesterday, daughter Audrey and a friend went to a class for making stained glass items.  They had an awesome time there.  Here's a photo of the chicken that Audrey made.  It originally had an eye, but somehow the eye fell off.  I think it's still quite lovely.  Good job, Audrey!

Well, I didn't get to any crocheting yesterday.  I was busy gathering information about what I will need for my new license.  I also found out that in order to have the name on my social security card changed (from my name in the late fifties) I will need a marriage certificate.  Of course, me being me, I have no clue where I may have put my marriage certificate.  However, I can get a new copy for just $10.  So that's what I'll do.

I looked up more information about the Real ID's (new licenses, etc) and found that by October 1, 2020 all states will have to be compliant with this new regulation.  It has to do with homeland security.

I don't want to go out today, but I guess I'll have to.  There are a few errands that really need to be done.  First, I will enjoy a visit with daughter Deanne.  Then Pogo and I will get the errands done and be home in time for his turkey treat this afternoon.

Today I have more photo memories to share.  I took these next two photos six years ago today.  There were all sorts of beautiful plants blooming in my little gardens.

I also have a new quick page for you.  This one is another Easter page.  I hope you like it.

Here is your download link:

Now I think I'll get me a fresh cup of coffee and do a bit of blog reading.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have a fantabulous day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Edna,
I hope that you don't have as much trouble getting your license renewed as I did. I didn't have to change my SS card because I did that when I married and kept my married name but I still had to take my lease, social security card, my birth certificate(Don't Forget That) my residence and I had to make a trip back home to get a copy of my divorce papers. That was just for the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Your doll pattern really does sound complicated. I think that I would do like you said and do the bodice with the air freshener doll and then the skirts. Wow a lot of work ahead of you. How many are you planning to make?

Gotta go... Hugs, have a fantastic day, Bethxxx
