Surprise Blossoms

April 9, 2018

Good morning.  The sun is shining, but it is still cold.  Well, at least too cold for my liking.  Although tomorrow I'll have to grin and bear it and go out in the cold.  I have a doctor appointment that I don't dare reschedule again.  It's just a follow up, so nothing to worry about.

Yesterday, while I was out in the house watering my house plants, I got a really nice surprise.  Remember the Christmas plant that I posted in December?

Well, when I gave it a drink yesterday, I noticed that it had two beautiful new blossoms on it.  How awesome!

I guess I'll have to be putting this plant into a bigger pot soon.  I think I'll wait though until the greenhouse is up.  Speaking of plants, there are little blossoms on my blueberry plant.

Now I really can't wait to set up the greenhouse.  These plants need to be out in the warm sunshine so that they can grow more blossoms.  And berries!  I'll have to be buying a couple sheets of plywood too to use as a base for the greenhouse.  With a flat bottom, small critters won't be getting inside the greenhouse.  (I hope!)

Pogo has taken up a new hobby.  He sits by the door and watches the yard across the street for long periods of time, and barks whenever he sees anyone walking around over there.  When folks walk by on the sidewalk, it's an extra bonus for Pogo.  He loves watching people.  Especially if they have a doggie with them.  As long as they don't stop in front of our driveway.  If they do, then he'll bark at them.

Well, I did not fill two sandwich bags with "toss aways" yesterday.  But I did fill one and a half of them.  I guess the positive of it is that sooner or later all these lunch bags add up to a big trash bag.  It will just take me longer to get the job done.

I got a letter today from the house insurance company that says that my claim is being processed.  They will contact me again as soon as they decide the disposition of my claim.  It will be nice to finally get this whole matter over and done with.

It's taking me a bit longer to post today because I've had to stop and take Pogo out in the house so that he could have his turkey treat.  Joe came home early today and Pogo was sitting by the door and watched him drive into the yard.  My little guy doesn't miss anything!

Now I think I'm going to make a fresh cup of coffee and read a few blogs before starting in on filling more lunch bags.  So, till tomorrow, Y'all have an awesome day.

Hugs, Edna B.

Hi Edna,
I am so glad that your claim is being processed. I hope that it is over and done with soon. It has been a frustrating process for you I know.
I love that Pogo is so alert to people around him. He is your very own alert system. Actually I think that he just pines for Joe and that turkey treat haha.
Remember Edna that critters can chew thru the vinyl of your green house. Put some 2x4's around the base on the inside along with some steel wool to deter them. I don't know anything about green houses but I do know about critters lol.
I just finished updating my blog. I was sick all weekend long, but feel a bit better today. Just low on my energy so Jonathan got me some Emergen-C to help me out. The thing is we are out of water. He said last night when he stopped at the store that they didn't have a single case of spring water or even the jugs so he didn't get any.

Time for lunch. Have an awesome day and lots of love to you and Pogo... xxxx Beth

Hoping for you that soon the weather will be warmer so that you can put up the greenhouse. Good idea I think from Beth, to put some edging around, there are pliable from light metal that could be usefull. (if there isn;t any edging in your greenhouse yet, of course)and that could indeed help to avoid critters and small animals going in. Here are some links that might be of interest for you. If not for getting a product they give nice info and perhaps some tips. Some reading stuff for you LOL!
